Purple Poppy

I mentioned yesterday that I was behind on Birthday cards.  So I have another one to share today.  I also used another of the DSP that are included in the 15% OFF Sale.  This one is a favorite of almost everyone in terms of the texture it gives to a card.  Can you guess which one that is?

Stampin' Up!, Painted Poppies, In Good Taste, Jackie Beers

If you guessed In Good Taste Designer Series Paper as the DSP, you are correct!  This piece is my favorite of all of the ones in the pack.  Misty Moonlight is my favorite of the new In Colors, and this piece has a touch of Misty Moonlight in the folds on the paper.

A little bit of a different touch to this card is that I stamped directly onto the DSP.  I love how the texture shows through these poppies.  I still colored them using the Stampin’ Blends in Just Jade and Purple Posy.

For the focal point, I stamped the single flower image and then die cut using the Stitched Nested Labels Dies.  I used the 4th from largest die.  I colored this flower using the same Stampin’ Blends.  Then to give it a little background, I used the marker flick to give the splatter look.  I used the Misty Moonlight Stampin’ Write Marker and flicked the brush tip against the inside of the lid to “splatter” the card stock.  I wanted to tie in that piece to the DSP without doing a background layer.

The focal flower is raised with Dimensionals.  I also added a bow tied using the blue and white baker’s twine from the Flowers For Every Season Ribbon Combo.  It was just enough of an extra touch.

Thank you for stopping by today.  Please return tomorrow and I will have another new project to share.

Hello Fabulous

I have been focusing on holiday cards lately and now find I need quite a few birthday cards.  So I have a really cute one for you today.  It contains a fun stamp set and gorgeous DSP!

I really like all of the Green in the Forever Greenery Designer Series Paper.  (And YES, it is one of the papers that are included in the 15% OFF Sale.  I have all of them listed below!)  The different greens were the basis of the card.  I paired Pretty Peacock with Just Jade for the main colors.

All of the stamps I used are from the Dressed To Impress stamp set.  For the perfume bottle, I stamped it using Just Jade Ink.  I then added the squiggly to the bottle in Pretty Peacock Ink.  To finish it off, I colored the remaining parts of the bottle with the Dark Pool Party Stampin’ Blend.  As I said, I LOVE how all of the greens work together!   I also stamped it again on some scrap paper and fussy cut the perfume label.  It is raised with a dimensional for a bit of definition.   I added a few Rhinestones for some Bling!  A girl definitely needs bling!

Today’s Measurements are:

  • 4 1/4 X 11 card base
  • 4 X 5 1/4 for white layer
  • Jade is 3 1/4 X 4 3/4
  • DSP is 3 X 4 1/2
  • Perfume base layer is 2 1/8 X 2 5/8
  • Perfume white layer is 1 7/8 X 1 3/8
  • sentiment base layer is 1 1/4 X 3 1/4
  • sentiment white layer is 1 X 3

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  I hope you like today’s project and will return tomorrow for another new card idea.

So Very Merry

I have another Slim Line Card to share with you today.  One thing that this card achieved is that I am now very much loving the Press On Stamp set!  I see a lot of cards using this set in my future.  The stamps and saying are adorable.

Stampin' Up!, Tis the season, Warm Hugs,Jackie Beers

I just love these little, and not so little, coffee cups.  Actually they could be filled with anything warm over the Fall and Winter seasons.  The larger cup has a couple of sentiments that will fit in the opening as well as some cute designs.  I believe the Warm Hugs small stamps, like the candy canes, would be adorable there as well.

As you can see, I mixed in a few other products to achieve my final results.  The little strip of DSP is from the Tis The Season Designer Series Paper Stack.  And the circle sentiment is from the Warm Hugs stamp set.  I have used it a time or ten so far!  LOL!!

I colored all of the cups with the Stampin’ Blends in a couple of colors.  I used the DSP to choose the colors and went with Cherry Cobbler and Shaded Spruce.  I varied the colors of the cups just for some fun and cuteness.

The measurements for today’s card are:

  • base card is 7 1/2 X 8 3/4 scored at 3 3/4
  • Cherry Cobbler layer is 3 1/2 X 8 1/2
  • Whisper White layer is 3 1/4 X 8 1/4
  • Small Shaded Spruce layer is 2 X 3 1/4
  • DSP layer is 1 3/4 X 3
  • Scraps for circles of sentiment

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you had a good weekend and a wishes for a good week ahead.

Don’t forget about the Designer Series Paper Sale!  All of the papers showing below are 15% OFF!!!!!  Please let me know if you have any questions.

Cat Lover Birthday

Before I get to today’s card, did you have a chance to check out the DSP sale?  15% OFF of select Designer Series Paper.  I have the picture list at the bottom of today’s post and would appreciate you shopping with me.

Yesterday I shared one of the DSP’s included in the sale, the Toile Tidings DSP.  Today I am sharing another one.  I have used this one a couple of times.  It is the Playful Pets Designer Series Paper.  I am also remaking the card I shared earlier in the week.  It is going from a Christmas card to a Birthday card.

I needed a birthday card for a wonderful person who is a cat lover.  I couldn’t think of anything that would make a better card than this paper along with the Pampered Pets stamp set.  Do you see the Pocket Flap card that I did earlier in the week?  You can see that card by clicking HERE.

And here is a peek of the inside.

The earlier card did not have the focal layer on the front as an addition.  I love how just that little bit totally changes the look of the card.  As I said in that earlier post, this is a fold that would work for any occasion.  And this card is just darn cute even if I do say so myself!

Thank you for stopping by today.  I really appreciate it and your comments.  I always respond to comments.  I respond via email instead of on the blog post.  So please don’t think I am ignoring them.  I hope you have a great weekend and get some crafting in!!

Toile Christmas

Today for me means Fall!!  I always think of October as the change into Fall with leaves becoming the gorgeous Fall colors and a relief from the heat of Summer.  It also makes me think of Paper Crafting and Stampin’ Up! of course!  World Card Making Day is October 3rd this year.  And what a great way to start the month than making cards.   Stampin’ Up! has added to that fun with a Designer Series Paper Sale!  15% OFF of select papers.  I  have them all listed below.  I love that it is simply the 15% off and not buy a certain amount to get a free one.

I am sharing a card today that has one of these sale papers as the main design.  It is the Toile Tidings Designer Series Paper.  This paper was in last year’s Holiday catalog and was a Returning Favorite this year.

Stampin' Up!, Jackie Beers, Rustic Christmas, Toile Tidings, Rectangle Postage Punch

The Toile Tidings Designer Series Paper is two sided as all of Stampin’ Up!’s DSP, but this one is a bit different.  The patterns are the same on both sides.  The only difference is that one side is Garden Green and the other is Real Red.  I love this!

This is a super quick card to make.  I simply layered a strip of the Toile Tidings onto a strip of Real Red and adhered it to the front.  The tag is made using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch along with the Rectangle Postage Stamp Punch.  I believe they layered wonderfully together. The sentiment is from the Rustic Christmas stamp set.  It is in the Annual Catalog and a favorite of mine.  The images are all a bit on the smaller side and pair very well with this DSP.   I finished it off with the 3/8″ Embroidered Ribbon from the Mini Catalog.

Here is a look at the inside of the card.

The little sprig is from the Rustic Christmas stamp set as well.  And the DSP is another of the Toile Tidings patterns.  You may not have really noticed from the front view of the card, but the front is cut shorter than the back.  I wanted the striped DSP to show with the card closed.  Plus it gives a bit of a different look, and I love different folds and cuts to cards.  I have all of the measurements listed just below.

  • The card base is 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4.  Cut 1 1/4″ off of the front piece.
  • The striped DSP  is cut to  5 1/2 x 1 1/2″ .  This ensures there will not be a gap when the card is closed.
  • The front DSP is cut to 5 1/2 X 2
  • The Real Red beneath the DSP is cut to 5 1/2 X 2 1/4
  • The Real Red Tag is 2 X 2 1/2 prior to being punched

Thank you for stopping by today.  Please return tomorrow for another new project!

Season Of Thanks

I have gotten into the Slim Line cards somewhat.  So I have another one to share with you today.  For this card I used the Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set.  I believe this large flower, or any large flower, would be great on the slim line.

I really love how this card turned out!  I went a bit bolder with the coloring on the flowers here and I have to say that the picture does not do it justice.  I have to work on my photography!.

The sunflowers are stamped with Early Espresso Ink.  I then colored the center, which is dark from the Early Espresso, all over with the Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends.  I went over the darker areas with the Dark and then all over with the Light.  The petals are colored with the Light Cajun Craze for the darker parts, and then Light Mango Melody all over.  I was surprised at how well they all worked.  It gives a lot more definition using the darker colors.  I wanted to try it and it was great.  So do not let your doubts stop you. It’s only paper!

The sentiment is from the Gather Together stamp set.  I love the saying.  I debated on layering the sentiment because of all the white space in the center.  But I think the smaller sentiment in there sort of pops.

Thank you very much for stopping by today!  I have the measurements listed right below here and the supplies I used are at the bottom of the post.  Remember to day is the last day to get the added bonuses of the current Starter Kit Promotion!!
