Quick Card

I posted a second post yesterday for the Retiring Items.  I have those links after this quick card.  I know that may be your priority today!  I totally understand.

My quick card is using the Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper.  That papers is so pretty that you could frame it and not worry about doing anything else.

I cut a section of this beautiful DSP and then simply stamped the single flower stamp from the Painted Poppies stamp set.  It was a quick and easy card with a few cuts and little coloring.  I love the bit of splatter on the stamped flower.  It adds just enough!

The sentiment is from the So Sentimental stamp set and is all I wanted for the card.  I like little sentiments and then add the rest on the inside.

I have three links for you regarding the Retiring Lists.  If you click on the picture of the list it will give you the complete list.  The poster will take you to my online store.

Tropical Swing Arm Card

Today’s card was inspired by a card I saw from a fellow Stampin’ Up! Demonstator, The Stamping Mom.  I love Fun Fold cards and this is definitely one.  TheStampingMom called her card a Lever Card.  I called mine a Swing Arm Card.

Stampin' Up!, Fun Fold, Timeless Tropical, Tropical Oasis, Jackie Beers

You can see the swing arm or lever on the right of the card.    And here is a view of it open

I did not want to leave the back of the focal point on the arm blank.  So I stamped a little message there as well.  As usual for me, the Designer Series Paper is really the focal point of the card.  When I layed these two pieces of the Tropical Oasis DSP together, I knew they were perfect.  I did not use any extra layers of card stock for this card.

The flower is from the Timeless Tropical stamp set.  (As is the leaf and Hello from the arm inside.)  I stamped the flower in Melon Mambo and highlighted it with the Light Mango Melody Stampin’ Blend Marker.

To have several parts, the card is extremely simple to put together.  I see more of these in my future especially using the retiring designer series paper!!   I have added the measurements below.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you are getting some stamping in during your home time.

MEASUREMENTS:

  • card 4 1/4 X 10 1/2, scored at 5″
  • The Inside base layer is 4 X 5 1/4 (it extends the full length of the back size.
  • The inside White layer is 3 3/4 X 4 1/2 and is placed towards the center fold.
  • The Lever/ Arm is 1 X 7, scored at 3 1/2
  • The Lever / Arm DSP is 3/4 X 3 1/4
  • The front base layer is 4 X 4 3/4
  • The smaller front layer is 3 1/4 X 4
  • Adhere the Arm to the right edge of the back layer by placing the fold on the edge in the center.  Adhere the inside layers over the lever.
  • Use the appropriate shape for your focal point to adhere to the layer.  Cut two of the shapes and secure the lever arm between the two.

Nature

I am playing along with the GDP236 today.  It is a Case The Designer Challenge, which is pretty much a Sketch Challenge.  These are my favorite for a new layout to try.

Stampin' Up!, Positive Thoughts, Natures Thoughts, Bird Ballad, Stitched Nested Labels, Jackie Beers

Here is the card I am Casing.

I used the Positive Thoughts with the matching Nature’s Thoughts Dies.   This is layered on the Stitched Nested Labels Dies.  The sentiment is from the Honey Bee Stamp set and is punched using the 1″ Circle punch and the 1 1/8″ Scalloped Circle punch.

This is the Bird Ballad Designer Series paper.  I have come to love the Petal Pink.  I think of it as a brighter blush color.  The main thing is, it pairs well with almost any color!  So I did a variety of colors for my collage.  I used Petal Pink, Pear Pizzaz and Smoky Slate to go with the Whisper White.  I also used these same Ink colors.  The definition on the feather is from laying the feather face down on the ink pad and randomly touching it to push it into the ink.  I did not want to totally color it, just to give a little bit of darker color.

To be a bit different, I stamped the flower on the DSP.  And yes, you have seen this DSP recently.  I have been using DSP that I know is going to retire with the next Annual Catalog debuting soon.

Thank you for stopping in today.  I hope you have a good weekend and will return on Monday.

The World Is Yours

I will mention it again at the end of my post, BUT……have you checked out the Clearance Rack Refresh?  It is AWESOME!!!  There are some great deals there.  You can click on the SHOP button at the top of the page to check it out.

I have a short post today and am sadly sharing a product that is not available.  I had not previously shared the 3D Stone Embossing Folder that was part of the Power of Hope Bundle in the SAB Catalog.  So I apologize on that, and seriously hope that it might carry into the next Annual Catalog.  I know the Small Bloom punch is carrying over.  So fingers crossed!!

Stampin' Up!, Stone Embossing Folder, Perfectly Framed, Rectangle Stitched Framelits, Jackie Beers

I paired the wonderful texture from the Power of Hope Bundle in Sale-A-Bration 3D Stone Embossing Folder with the Perfectly Framed stamp set and the Stitched Rectangle Dies.  Some of the pieces were on my table and just got added in.  I love these type of cards.

This is a short post, but I will say the photopolymer stamps are what made this card.  I stamped the center sentiment and then stamped the flowers and leaves around it.   I may should have, but did not , mask anything.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you have checked out the Clearance Rack Refresh!!  If your order is not $150.00, please use the host code you see on the side of the post or just below here.

Hugs and Love

In planning today’s card, I was thinking of using DSP that will be retiring quicker than we think with the end of the Annual Catalog or Mini Catalog.  With that in mind, I was looking for a sentiment or focal image that would work alone.   I have only used this lovely sentiment one other time.  Now is a perfect time for these lovely words.

Stampin' Up!, Positive Thoughts, Nature's Thoughts, Perennial Essence, Jackie Beers

The sentiment is a favorite that I do not believe I will be getting rid of when it retires.  It is perfect for a variety of occasions.  It and other equally wonderful stamps are in the Positive Thoughts stamp set in the Mini Catalog.

The DSP is the Perennial Essence and was chosen because I wanted to use my favorite Stampin’ Up! Color. It is the Seaside Spray.  I went a bit crazy with it when it first debuted and have made myself use other colors for a while.

I paired the Seaside Spray with my second favorite color which is the Purple Posy.  I , like everyone else, was so bummed when the ink color could not be formulated to SU specifications.  That did not deter me though.  I use it regularly with the card stock as well as the marker and Stampin’ Blends.

The Old Olive was chosen as a compliment to the Seaside Spray and Purple Posy.  I love the layers all working together.  As a grounding for the butterfly and sentiment, I used the delicate looking edging cut in the Seaside Spray.  I ended up covering more of it than I had intended.

The butterfly and the edging is from the Nature’s Thoughts Dies.  They were in the release of dies released just after the beginning of the year that coordinated with stamps from the Mini Catalog or the Annual Catalog.

I appreciate you stopping by today.  Please come back tomorrow for the Pals April Blog Hop.  There will be quite a few great projects for you to hop through.

Sweet Treat

I have fallen into the not knowing what day it is.  I have been working on projects the last few weeks and have several ready to go.  They are just not blogged about.  So sorry for being late on this early Monday morning.

I have had some different treats in mind for the sweet Printed Gusseted Cello Bags.  These bags are adorable and are part of the Birthday Bonanza Suite of Products.  A large variety of items will fit in them.  For me it was all about the tag.  Here is my Sweet Treat for you.

And here is a closer look at the tag.

This was a very quick project, which I love!  But it is also great for leftover designer paper.  I have used the Birthday Bonanza Designer Series Paper.  For the flap, I used Terracotta Tile Card Stock to fold over the top of the bag and secured with a hand held stapler.  Any desk stapler will do for this.  I then layered a piece of the DSP over top of the card stock and secured it with multipurpose glue.

The tag is from the Bonanza Dies.  I cut the tag itself from Thick Whisper White card stock.  I placed a strip of the DSP ,that had been cut from sizing the flap layer, across the center of the tag. I used the dies to cut a sweet koala bear from the DSP and added him with some dimensionals.

The sentiment is from the Little LadyBug stamp set from Sale-A-Bration.  The word bubbles are from the Bonanza Dies as well.

To finish the tag, I added Gray Granite Textile Weave Ribbon through the tag hole .  I wanted a little extra, so added a piece of the Grapefruit Grove 1/8″ ribbon and tied a bow around the larger ribbon.  The tag is secured to the bag topper with a couple of dimensionals.  I thought the tag itself could be a cute little bookmark as well.  I have used this tag previously and folded it for a gift tag.  You can see that project HERE

Thank you for stopping in today.  I hope you can smile from this cute little koala.  I wish I could send one to all of you.  As an old Stampin’ Up! stamp said “Keep Calm and Stamp On” !
