Tea Together

I have a cute cup of tea to share with you today!  All I need to go with it is a lovely scone.  I have traveled across England and Scotland eating my way in scones!  So anytime I see the lovely Tea Together stamp set I want a scone to go with the tea.  Alas, no scones for today’s card but there is a sweet rose instead.

Tea Together, 148779

I love the unexpected of the rose inside the tea cup.  I die cut it with the Tea Time Framelits.  They were part of Sale-A-Bration and is supposed to carry over to the next annual catalog.  The rose is the only part of the card that is die cut.  I wanted a simpler look for today.  When I adhered the rose, I straight cut across the bottom of the rose to match the cup edge.  Also, I did not put adhesive on the leaves, only the rose.  I sort of lifted up on the leaves to give them the 3D look.

The sentiment is from the same stamp set.  I stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and punched it out with the 1 1/8″ scallop circle punch.  The heart is the Heart Epoxy Droplets that I colored with the Dark Lovely Lipstick Stampin’ Blend.  I love these hearts, and the ability to make them any color you want.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I very much appreciate you looking at my projects.  I also, love to read your comments.

As always, the complete supply list is at the bottom of the post.

Country Home

I am sharing a card today that includes one of my most favorite stamp sets.  It is the Country Home stamp set.  I just love the flowers, pitcher, and especially the milk can!  I have paired it with one of my new favorite embossing folders.  The Country Floral one.  Do you see a theme here?

Country Home, 147678

Other than the fussy cutting of the flowers, this is a quick card.  If you follow my blog posts, you know that I love the Stampin’ Blends.  I stamped a sheet of the flower and pitcher and then colored while watching television.  I love to do that.  I am great at multi-tasking!

The addition of the linen thread and bow was the final country touch that I felt this card needed.  That said, with a different focal point, this embossing folder would make a very elegant card.  Can you see that?  I think it is going to continue to grow in popularity and more people create with it.  I for one cannot wait to see them!

Thank you for visiting today!  I have all of the supplies listed at the bottom of the post.

Sunflower for Case This Sketch

I have made a card today that follows the sketch from Case This Sketch Challenge #316.  The sketch is one that Brian King created.  So of course I had to play along.

Painted Harvest, 144783

And here is the sketch I CASED.

I mentioned in yesterday’s post that I am going back through annual catalog stamp sets.  This has always been one of my favorites.  The Panted Harvest stamp set is so versatile with the sunflower.  It makes gorgeous wreaths as well.  But today I went with a sunflower.  That is something that can easily stand alone.

I used the Floral Romance Designer Series Paper for a part of the background. For the top section I made my own background by stamping a leaf from the same stamp set.  It is Pear Pizzaz stamped onto Pear Pizzaz card stock.  I love the look that gives.  I also used the Layering Circles for the center scallop and plain circle.  The sentiment is punched with a 3/4″Circle Punch.  Just to add a bit more texture, I added the linen thread beneath the flower layer.  I hope that thread never goes away.  It is perfect when just a touch of texture or ribbon is needed.

Thank you for stopping by today.  Please come back on Monday for some new projects.  I have a card swap with my Stamp Club on Sunday.  So I will share the cards I have made for that next week.

Hey Friend for GDP183

I am making a “Day At The Park” card for the Global Design Project 183 challenge.  It is a very soft card, which I do not do very often.  I tend to lean towards bright colors.  I was pleasantly surprised that I really like it!

Flowing Fountain, 148738

And here is the challenge icon:

This is a really simple card that would work for a variety of occasions.  It took me some time to originally give this stamp set even a second look.  But then I thought of it as a “sketch” or “Pin and Ink” type drawing.  Then it seemed to have more appeal.  Now that I have colored it, although softly colored, I like it even more.  I never would have dreamed I would like the results this much when I first opened the catalog.

Thank you for visiting today!  Please return tomorrow for another project.  And as always, the complete supply list is at the bottom of the page.

Amazing

I have a card to share today that is pretty much  an “any occasion” type card.   It was really quick and easy to make.  And it is almost a one stamp set card.  At the last minute I decided to use a background stamp instead fo leaving the card base plain.  Either would work wonderfully.

Stampin' Up!, Incredible Like You, Amazing Life, Jackie Beers, Crackle Paint

Incredible Like You, 148708

I love the sentiment, “You Are amazing”.  Anyone would love to receive a card with that as the sentiment. I know I would.  It may not show well in the photo, but the ends of the sentiment are torn instead of cut.  It looks very nice in person but may not show well in the photo.  I have been into “tearing” this week.  Remember my card from Tuesday?  LOL!

Other than the sentiment, the stamps are all from the Incredible Like You stamp set.  I have a tip for you in stamping the flower.  Normally I stamp the solid image first and then the definition image second.  With the photopolymer stamps lining these two step images up is a piece of cake.  Until I tried this very light color of Blushing Bride!!  I could not really see the solid stamped image.  So I tried it in reverse and stamped the dark definition stamp first.  That worked amazingly!  All I had to do was line up the bottom of the stamp and it was perfect.  Please keep that little tip in your tool bag when using a very light color.

I found another unexpected result with the Granny Apple Green stamping.  I stamped the stripes in Granny Apple Green and looked for a different green for the leaves I wanted to add to the flowers.  None seemed to work without really standing out.  So I tried the Granny Apple again and stamped off once .  It was perfect.  Well, actually it would have been perfect had I stamped the leaves full strength and the stripes lighter I think.  Regardless, I was pleased with the result.  It is the exact tone of color and shows up surprisingly well without contrasting with the stripes.  Who Knew???

The background is made using the Crackle Paint background stamp.  I love the look this gives.  Background Stamps are so unique and give such different looks depending on the ink you use.  I love using the same Ink as Card stock, like I did today.  But I also like just using Versamark to do a light image.  Although Versamark leaves a darker image on very light card stock.  Another of those anomolies!

Thank you for stopping by today.  Please come back on Monday for another project.

Beautiful

Today’s card is showcasing the gorgeous Painted Season stamp set.  If you do not have this set, I strongly suggest you think about it quickly.  It goes away at the end of the month.  I apologize that the photos do not do the definition on the stamps justice.  It is one of the prettiest flowers that is in the Stampin’ Up! products right now.

Painted Season 149722

As I said above, the photo is not quite clear enough to see the great detail on the flower.  So you will have to trust me.  The other stamps are just as defined.  The leaves I stamped here are in Soft Sea Foam, so they really do not show up well in the photo.  Sorry about that.

This card is done with a technique I have not used in many years.  It goes back to my beginning in stamping and is tearing the paper.  Did you ever make cards with that touch added to them?  For this one I tore a piece of copy paper to lay across the Whisper White piece.  I then stamped the images over the paper.  After I removed the torn piece, I came back and stamped the sentiment and little leaves on each end of it.

The sentiment is from Flowering Desert and just seemed to strike me as perfect.  I thought of these flowers as beautiful from the first one I stamped.  So of course when I saw the sentiment, I knew it was the one to use.

Thank you for stopping by today.  Please come back tomorrow as it is an InKing Royalty Blog Hop!  I know you will not want to miss the great projects that will be showcased by all my fellow team members.  And as always, the complete product list is at the bottom of the page.
