My card today is using a stamp set that I new I had to have. I created this simple card as soon as I got it in my hands. We all need a hug on a regular basis. And if you love animals, then this one is for you.
STAMPS
This adorable image is from the Hugs & Healing stamp set. As soon as I saw this cuddle between the dog and cat, I was sold! Not all dogs and cats get along this well. I have had a couple that did however. And it is the sweetest. The image is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then colored with a variety of Stampin’ Blends. They are all listed in the Supply List at the bottom of the post. The stamp set does not have matching Dies. But this was pretty quick to fussy cut.
The sentiment is also from the stamp set. It has some sweet ones that go with each of the images. This sentiment actually says Sending Healing Hugs To You. I did not want the Healing. So I stamped the sentiment, which is two lines, and then cut it apart. Plus the cut apart sentiment sort of goes along with the image I think.
PAPERS
There are a variety of papers used here. I sort of went crazy with the DSP and colors. But I wanted it to look like they were laying on the floor. I began with Pecan Pie cardstock for the base. It matches the pups coloring. Next is the “floor”. This piece came from the Country Woods Designer Series Paper. The “rug” is from the Woven Textures Designer Series Paper. (It pays to keep all of your leftover pieces! ) And then another Pecan Pie layer paired with Crumb Cake cardstock for the actual image to lay on.
EXTRAS
The Extras are a mix of dots that I actually had to look up to make sure they were not retired. They were on the Last Chance List. Of course I just looked again as I am writing this post….and they are gone! These are the Ombre Mat Dots in case you happen to have some in your stash. But if you are like me, you have a few embellishments that have colors to match since I used quite a few for the quilt. I am so sorry about this!!
