Oh Happy Day

The project I have to share with you today is the tag I made to accompany my Paper Shares.  I also used the tag to make a card since they were so darn cute!

Stampin' Up!, Playing In The Rain, Fabulous Frames, Stylish Shapes, Rain or Shine, Glossy Dots, Jackie Beers

Papers

This card, and the tags, are all about the paper.  The center of the card is the actual tag.  I fussy cut the images from the piece of Rain Or Shine Designer Series Paper containing these characters.  There are turtles, dogs, and the pig holding umbrellas.  For the background I used a second piece from the paper pack with the rain drops. Then when I decided to make a card from an extra tag, I added a third piece of the DSP.  I felt the umbrellas and rain sheet was the perfect finishing layer.  And that doesn’t mention all of the beautiful color to choose from in these papers.

Stamps

The stamp set used is the Playing In The Rain and it is a Bundle.  It was a favorite as soon as I saw it.  I love any of the animal sets Stampin’ Up! creates because the artists give the animals such character!  The Dies from the bundle were not used as they do not include these guys with the umbrellas.  So all I used was the sentiment stamp.  How appropriate though that Oh Happy Day is what you see when your Paper Shares arrive!  Or this card even.  Although I am really over all the rain we have had this winter.

Dies and Finishes

Even though I did not use the Playing In The Rain Dies, I did use two other Die sets.  The sentiment is using the Stylish Shapes Dies and the largest of the banners.  I needed the largest for the height, but did not need very much width.  All that took was my Paper Trimmer to cut off where I needed and it becomes a little flag.

The second Die set is the Fabulous Frames Dies.  To get the awesome frame around the rain scene, I used the largest of those frames in Mango Melody.  The details are wonderful on this one.  After everything was placed, I added a layer of Balmy Blue and rounded the corners.  Any corner rounder that you have will work.  There is not one from SU that is current.  But I felt the corners needed rounding!  And the final touch is the single Glossy Dots on the sentiment.

Thank you for visiting today!!

Easter Treats

I am hopping a holiday ahead with today’s card.  Instead of Valentine, I have an Easter card to share.  This one is a cute little bunny with a treat for you.

Stampin' Up!, Easter Bunny, Something Fancy Dies, Pale Papaya Faux Velvet Trim, Jackie Beers

Stamps

The adorable little bunny with his carrot treat is from the Easter Bunny Bundle.  This bundle is a punch bundle.  However, I have used one of the bunnies that does not fit the punch.  The carrot was the layout idea.  I wanted him to hold a carrot and the punch bunny is a side view.  All of the stamps used are from the stamp set.

The bunny is stamped with Crumb Cake Ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends.  For the carrot I still stamped with Crumb Cake, colored with Stampin’ Blends, and then fussy cut it.  The adorable sentiment is from the stamp set as well.

Dies

Since I did not utilize the Bunny Punch, I searched through my Die sets for one that would work with the little scene I created.  This Die set is amazing and I see a lot of uses in my future cards.  The tag die used for the bunny scene is from the Something Fancy Die set.  This is also a bundle with the Something Fancy stamp set.  The stamp set is an awesome sentiment set.  And one I will fully use I am sure, but not today!

For the sentiment used here I wanted a shape that was a bit different from the usual.  Once again I found it in the Something Fancy Die set.  This little hexagon shaped die fit the sentiment perfectly.  And I really love that it is a different shape!

Paper and Embellishments

Today’s paper is a bright and cheery one that fits in with my bunny perfectly.  It is from the Dandy Designs Designer Series Paper. This is one of the Sale-A-Bration paper packs.  I love the brightness and the little designs of green and white.

To play off of the carrot I wanted some additional orange.  The Pale Papaya Faux Velvet Trim is gorgeous and really soft.  But when placed on this bright paper I felt like you could see the design through the velvet.  With a quick look at the SU colors, I decided Pumpkin Pie was a perfect background.  It is a little deeper orange than the Pale Papaya but they really compliment each other.  Adding that strip of card stock really made the orange work.  And to finish off with some bling, I added a few of the Champagne Rhinestones to the sentiment layer and top of the tag.

Thank you for stopping by today!!!

Triple Step Fold for Fun Fold Blog Hop

Today is the monthly Fun Fold Blog Hop.  There are several of us who love making Fun Fold cards.  You can find easy ones on up to a bit more effort, but hopefully you will find one that you particularly like.  Or more than one!!

My Fun Fold card for today is a Triple Step card.  At least that is what I am calling it.  I will say I cased this from a European Demonstrator that I cannot find the name.  However, I did change measurements as the conversion from Metric to Imperial was not at all working,  I also altered the assembly of the pieces to be very simple.  I hope you like the outcome!

Stampin' Up!, Playing In The Rain, Happy Labels Punch, Easter Bunny, Dandy Designs, Jackie Beers

Parts

Instead of explaining all aspects as I usually do, I have a PDF of directions for you.  They include everything you need.  I will say that one of the things I particularly like about this card is that the larger of the lower mountain folds contains a pretty large piece of White paper.  Generally on these type folds there is very little space for an inside sentiment and your writing. This one has plenty of room!

There is a side view included in the PDF so you can see the three steps and how the top step makes a tent over the others.  Click HERE to access the PDF.

Paper

I do want to emphasis this DSP.  It is from the Dandy Designs Designer Series Paper as a Free With $100.00 purchase in the Sale-A-Bration Catalog.  There are 48 sheets, 4 each of 12 double sided designs.  And they are awesome.

The pieces I used are actually the front and back of one piece.  And it took maybe a 1/4 of one 12X12 sheet.  That is a winner in my book.  Not to consider that this is actually a very easy card to do.

Stamps

The fun turtle stamp is from the Playing In The Rain stamp bundle.  He is stamped and then die cut using the matching die with the same name!  Have you noticed all of the bundles in the Mini Catalog have the same name for the stamp set and dies / or punches?  Yay!!!

Thank you for visiting me today!  I hope you will leave a comment and then hop on to the next person in today’s Fun Fold lineup.

Pearl

Today’s card is my first play with the Seaside Bay Bundle.  I did a fairly quick and simple one and now love this set.  It is paired with the By The Bay Designer Series Paper.

Stampin' Up!, Seaside Bay, By The Bay, Layering Circles, Decorative Circle, Vellum, Jackie Beers

Stamps and Dies

As I said, this is the Seaside Bay Bundle.  It is a stamp and Dies bundle with quite a lot of both included.  To keep this card fairly simple, I only used the Clam shell.  It is stamped and die cut using Sahara Sand ink.  The sentiment is from the set also.  It is stamped and cut using the Layering Circles Dies.

Do you notice the shine inside the clam shell?  This is a wonderful bonus!  There are Flat Adhesive Pearls in this Suite of products.  They are so perfect , as well as add bling, to this set.  I love them!!

Papers

There are more than normal papers on this card.  The card base is Night of Navy card stock with a layer of Sahara Sand.  Next is a layer of Vellum that I wadded up in my hand and then spread back out.  I like the marks the creases leave.  It gives some added definition and texture to the card.

For the next layer I went with Balmy Blue to bring out the water color in the shells.  The DSP of shells is from the By The Bay Designer Series Paper.  This is a 6X6 pack of paper that has quite a lot of metallic to it.  And a lot of beachy themes.  The last paper is the Decorative Circle Punch piece.  It is a back side of one of the papers included in Awash In Beauty Designer Series Paper from the Annual Catalog.  This piece was on my desk and I happened to see this textured pink look.  It was perfect for this card.

Grateful

The Flowers and More Designer Series Paper , which is a Host Reward in the Mini Catalog, is absolutely my favorite.  As I was cutting it for Paper Shares I knew I wanted to make something with it right away.  So I have another floral card to share.

Stampin' Up!, Flowers and More, Petal Park, Something Fancy, Jackie Beers

Bundles

I almost said this was a quick card. LOL!!  And it actually is fairly quick. But it utilizes two different Bundles besides the gorgeous paper.  I will talk about the bundles first.  The Petal Park Bundle was my first thought, as I had just received it and was making labels.  This one is a Punch Bundle.  I do love punches!!

Actually I had debated about this set because it seems fairly plain as it is simply some flowers and leaves.  Because it was a Punch, I gave in and ordered it.  And I am Thrilled that I did.  These flowers are wonderful, and are actually a variety of different flowers all on one stamp and punch.  The more solid flowers stamp was inked and stamped with Polished Pink Ink.  Then the outline stamps were inked with Sweet Sorbet and stamped over top.  The three flowers are one stamp and are perfectly aligned with the punch for an easy peasy cutting.

For the sentiment I went to the new Something Fancy Bundle.  This one is all sentiments in a variety of mixed fonts.  You know I love that!  And are paired with some flowers and sentiment layer dies.  I chose the simple layer die since I had the previous flowers to add to it.  This super sweet sentiment was stamped using Starry Sky Ink and then die cut.  I tried to pull a variety of colors from the DSP.

Paper

The card base of Thick Basic White is fairly plain.  But with the bold colors on the other two papers, it was sort of needed.  Plus there are white flowers in the focal paper.  These two pieces of DSP are from the fabulous Flowers and More Designer Series Paper.  This paper is one of the extra thick packs of DSP and is a Host Reward in the Mini Catalog.  It is on page 90 of the Mini and is 48 sheets of DSP.  The top piece was my attention getter, even though there are others that are just as pretty.  And the second sheet is the reverse of a bold print.  I like the blue stripes to soften all the bright colors in the papers.

Hugs

The card for today is seriously quick and easy.  The DSP does all of the work for sure!  I am mixing the Awash In Beauty with the Happy Labels.

Stampin' Up!, Awash In Beauty, Happy Labels, Iridescent Pastel Gems, Jackie Beers

Stamp and Punch

I am beginning with the smaller point on the card, but also the newest.  The stamp set of sentiments, which is a Punch Bundle, is the Happy Labels set with the Happy Labels Punch.  Best of all, the punch is a Pick A Punch.  This means it has two different “End” decorations as well as three sizes in each.  I really love these and think most of y’all do as well.

Because the paper is so beautiful, and bright, I went with simplicity for the sentiment.  The sweet saying was stamped using the Balmy Blue in the paper as the thought.  And I backed it with a simple strip of Balmy Blue card stock to help it pop a bit more.

Paper

This beautiful paper is from the Awash In Beauty Designer Series Paper from the Annual Catalog.  As you can see, it is most definitely able to stand alone and make a beautiful card.  Which is the reason for the simple sentiment.  But I do love these colors and pulled even more of them for the layers.  Besides the little Balmy Blue strip with the sentiment I have the Daffodil Delight as the layer with Garden Green as the card base.  Can you tell I am ready for Spring!  LOL!!!  I got this idea from cutting my paper shares from the Mini Catalog and Sale-A-Bration papers.  There are some in those catalogs that would be just as pretty for quick and easy cards.

InKing Royalty January Blog Hop

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s January 2023 Blog Hop! If your craft projects aren’t already filled with hearts, then you might be behind the eight ball. No worries – we are here to help. We are excited to share our heart-filled creations with you and hope you love them! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

The Hearts theme was an easy one to follow with the fabulous new Country Floral Lane Suite of products in the new Mini Catalog.  I loved this Suite as soon as I saw it and hope you will as well.

Stampin' Up!, Country Bouquet, Country Floral, Sweet Sorbet Metallic Ribbon, Bough Punch, Jackie Beers

Stamps and Punches

My card is sort of a Heart Bouquet.  And is not at all what I had planned originally!  The Country Bouquet Bundle is a Punch Bundle.  That was where I was originally headed.  Then I saw the floral heart that I have used and changed directions just a bit.  I did use the leaves from the punch.  They are slightly hidden by the bow.

However, the floral heart intrigued me and I had to give it a try.  It is a two step heart with the flowers and greenery separate.  The flowers are stamped using Sweet Sorbet Ink and the greenery is Pear Pizzaz.  Sadly with this being a punch bundle, I had to cut out the heart myself.  Since a heart is mostly straight lines that was not a huge undertaking.   I did use the leaves from the stamp set in Pear Pizzaz as well and punched them using the Country Bouquet Punch.  Then decided it needed more greenery to look like a bouquet.  So out came the Boughs Punch for the background greens.  This punch has been getting a lot of use from me of late.

Papers

To continue with the Sweet Sorbet and Pear Pizzaz, I went with a striped piece of DSP.  It is from the Country Floral Designer Series Paper that is also included in the Suite of products.  I layered the striped DSP onto a piece of Basic White and then to the base card of Pear Pizzaz.

Finishes

There are several final add on touches to complete this card.  First is the sentiment.  It is from the Country Bouquet stamp set as well.  So this is a one set card basically.  I love that!!  But it is die cut with a die from the Beautiful Trees Dies.  It is nothing flashy, and just has a bit of an embossed border around the edges.

The most notable of the finishes is the beautiful bow.  The Sweet Sorbet Metallic Ribbon is so pretty and extremely easy to work with.  Due to that I went a bit out of the norm and created a three strand bow.  I love how it really pops up.  And the final touch is the Festive Pearls scattered around.  There are some on flower centers of the heart, and one on the sentiment.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you’ll hop along to the next stop on the blog hop, Sheryl Abernathy at Elegant Sentiments. There’s lots of inspiration to be found in this group – and you don’t want to miss it!

Let The Fun Begin

I have discovered that I am loving the Delicate Desert Suite of products!  The colors are amazing and really remind me of my trip to Arizona last summer.  I am hoping you will find it just as exciting.

Stampin' Up!, Desert Details Bundle, Delicate Desert , Iridescent Pastel Gems, Jackie Beers

Stamps and Dies

This card is fairly simple, but shows off the individual pieces pretty well.  The Desert Details is the stamp and dies for today’s project.  The flower may seem a bit out of place, but it does remind me of the yellow and rust blossoms that are fairly prevalent.  And the green succulent plant was everywhere.  However my favorite is the background die!  The little details around the edges are simply perfect!

Stampin’ Up! has now named the dies that match a stamp set the same name as the stamp set.  This makes it so easy to know what goes together and half as many names to remember! The card sentiment is also from the stamp set and one that seems so appropriate for many occasions.  I was still thinking of my fun vacation, we landed and hit the ground running to get to everything we had planned.  And it was so Fun!!  I also have one little trick I have learned to share with you here.

New Tip:

Do you notice the inside sections of the succulent?  When that piece is die cut, the inside pieces fall out.  I am used to that happening and did not think anything of it.  However, while I was sick I watched quite a lot of stamping videos.  (Shocking I know! 🙂 )  One person, and I cannot find that video again, so am not sure who it was, shared a  great technique for this die.  And I am sure it would work with others.  When you finish die cutting. place a piece of post it note, or post it tape over the die while the image is still inside.  Then turn it over and add Tear And Tape to the reverse side and remove the die.  That is what I did for this succulent plant.  It allows the inside pieces that would fall out, to be secured at the bottom but left loose at the top which makes a more 3D image!  I love this!!!

Paper

I have recently been showcasing the paper first, but today’s card idea actually came before the paper.  Although I sort of new which paper pack I was going to use.  The inside of the background layer is from the Delicate Desert Designer Series Paper.  These colors and pattern work perfectly with the stamp and dies.  Actually they are both from the Delicate Desert Suite of products, so they should.  These two colors in the paper not only are beautiful but tie the card colors together and add more of the desert feel.

Yesterday’s card used the second paper that is included in the Suite.  It is the Dry Brushed Metallic Specialty Paper and is two pieces of two different designs.  They are gorgeous.  You can see that card and paper HERE.

Embellishments

This card has several focal areas and really does not require bling.  Of course if you know me, then I had to add some anyway.  There is gold bling that is part of this suite.  But I opted for more subtle.  The Iridescent Pastel Gems are actually in the colors of my card.  I spread them around and used three different colors and sizes.

Dry Brushed Birthday

I am back in my happy place!  That is making cards and sharing with you all.  To celebrate feeling normal again I have a bright and shiny Birthday card.  It is for the Make My Monday Challenge Blog.  The designers got to choose our favorite theme of the previous year.  Mine is most definitely Birthdays.  This one shares some new products as well.

Stampin' Up!, Best Day, Dry Brushed, Gold Specialty, Festive Pearls, Jackie Beers

You too can submit a card for the Make My Monday Challenge.  Simply click on the link below.  You will not only see all of the designers’ cards, but followers submissions as well as submit your card.

Paper

This paper is amazing!  And should receive top billing on this card.  It is the new Dry Brushed Designer Series Paper.  There are two different patterns.  This one contains gold and Soft Succulent and the other is Gold with Calypso Coral and Petal Pink.  They are part of the Delicate Desert Suite on page 42 of the Mini Catalog.  Trust me, this is beautiful paper.

To highlight the gold in the Specialty Paper, I turned to an oldy but lovely piece of DSP.  The background for the cake is the Gold and Rose Gold Specialty Paper that is in the Annual Catalog.  This paper carried over from previous and has been a go to for me.  I love the detail in the paper.  It looks like etching lines.

Stamps

This stamp set, the Best Day, was at the top of my purchase list.  The other Birthday stamp is a cat in a cupcake paper.  You know how much I love cats.  And yet I haven’t used that stamp yet!  Crazy, I know….

Matching the cake to the paper gave me the idea of a generic birthday card.  Perfect for anyone!  It was a bit difficult to decide how to color the cake with the Soft Succulent as the basis.  So I went with shades of green.  I have included Bermuda Bay, Mint Macaron, and Soft Succulent to pair with So Saffron and Cajun Craze.

Finishes

Since the paper on this one is so beautiful, I didn’t need a lot of bling.  However you know I had to add a bit.  Then I went with a bit more!  The Festive Pearls in gold seemed a perfect fit for the gold in the papers.  They are like the little edible pearls you see on fancy cakes.

Thank you for visiting today!  I am so happy to be back in my craft room and posting again.  This crazy weather has made a lot of people sick and I hope you are not included in that!  Take care!

Happy Gnome

I am late getting my post out today.  Sadly I have the nasty crud that is going around so I am moving pretty much in a fog.  Luckily I had a couple of cards already made.  Today’s is a fun gnome card with a mix of the old and new.

Stampin' Up!, Friendly Gnomes, Gnomes Dies, Framed Florets Dies, Fun Flower Resin, Regency Park DSP, Jackie Beers

Stamps

This cute little flower power gnome girl is from the Friendly Gnomes stamp set.  It is new in the upcoming January – June Mini Catalog.  She makes me think of the flower power from the 70’s.  She is stamped and colored using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and Stampin’ Blends.  Naturally I went with the colors from the gorgeous DSP which carries on the flower power theme!

Dies

There are two die sets used here.  The first is the Gnomes Dies.  They are carried over from the Mini that is ending tomorrow.  And match the new Friendly Gnomes in the next Mini Catalog.    To make the oval that is perfect for the little flower child, I used the Framed Florets Dies.  There are several focal layers in that Die set.  This is the most simple one, but all I needed was a background.  And it works perfectly in size.

Papers

These two fun DSP papers are from the upcoming Mini Catalog.  And are in the Regency Park Designer Series Paper.  The pattern reminds me of the flower power as I said.  But I believe I had a pair of jeans with a similar pattern on them!!! Yikes!! Now I feel really old.  🙂

Embellishments

For a touch of added flowers, I used the Fun Flower Resin shapes that are in the Annual Catalog.  There are a few different colors included.  I used three of the colors in these flowers.  They seem to be the perfect choice with the flowers in the beard.

Here is an open view of the card, as it is a fun fold.
