Meadow Cheers

The card I am sharing today is a multi-fold that showcases some of the beautiful Meandering Meadows Designer Series Paper.  It is paired with the Cheers To The Season set.

Stampin' Up!, Meandering Meadows, Cheers To the season, Scalloped Contours, Something Fancy, Country Bouquet, Jackie Beers

The Folds

The front of the card looks fairly plain.  And ended up a tad brighter than I originally planned.  But it gets better with the other folds!

Now you can see the gorgeous Meandering Meadows Designer Series Paper!  It will be available for you to order soon!

Papers

This fold is one that came about as I was making it.  And I failed to write down all of the measurements.  The card base is 8 1/2 X 5 1/2, scored at 4 1/4, and then 2″ cut off the front.  The inside “card.  was cut to fit after I added the Crushed Curry back and front layers.  It is intended to look like an additional layer.  (Check the first photo).  So take that measurement and make it twice as wide to fold over.  Sorry about not writing things down!

The papers, besides the DSP, were pulled from the DSP.  I used Cherry Cobbler for the base and then Crushed Curry layers.   The front  disguises the pretty inside of the card.  My goal was for the opening to be a bit of an unexpected surprise.  I cut the DSP to continue the scene across the layers.

Stamps and Dies

There are a variety of stamp sets used on this card.  The front panel is cut with the Scalloped Contours Dies to highlight the Cheers wine glass.  That stamp is from the Cheers To The Season set.  It is a favorite for it’s solid images for Thanksgiving/Fall, Christmas, and this wine glass for New Year or any time.

The front For You tag is from the Country Bouquet stamp set.  I needed something small for a tag and this one worked perfectly.  It is punched using the Best Label Punch.  The little corner cuts are a great touch on a small tag.  And the background is a scrap of the DSP.

The inside sentiment is from the Something Fancy stamp set.  I love the mix of fonts as well as the fun sentiment. Being late on cards is a special talent of mine! LOL!!

Finishes

The finishes on this card are pretty simple.  The ribbon for the tag is the Sweet Sorbet Woven Metallic Ribbon.  This is last year’s In Colors and I used these ribbons regularly.  They are very easy to tie a bow with and give just enough sparkle to a card.  The other finishes is some additional Bling!  I used the Iridescent Pearls and colored two of the three with the Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends.

Fishy Birthday

The card I am sharing today is one I made for a long time friend.  This one is a fishing card that only required the Let’s Go Fishing DSP to make.  That is a winner!

Stampin' Up!, Lets Go Fishing, Go To Greetings, Happy Labels Punch, Bakers Twine, Jackie Beers

Papers

This card is all about the DSP!  The Let’s Go Fishing Designer Series Paper has some beautiful pieces.  They include any fishing item, as well as ones like this fun plaid.  I used three of the different pieces.  Actually four with the plaid background.  Scraps can really be our friend!

The background on all of the papers is Very Vanilla.  So I began with a Thick Very Vanilla card stock.  And even though the papers all have the Wild Wheat, I was pulled to the Boho Blue really popping from the two more colorful pieces.  That became my layers to brighten up the card.

Stamp and Punch

The only stamping you see on the front of the card is the simple greeting.  This greeting is from Go To Greetings.  That set has the most common sentiments in different sizes and fonts.  I love this simple, and smaller, Happy Birthday.  It is emphasized with the Happy Labels Punch for the background layer and the sentiment layer.  A little bit  of detail is all that is required.

Finishes

There is no bling on this card!!!  I know those of you that are regular followers are shocked.  But, I did add extra touches.  The Bakers Twine is wrapped around the sentiment layers with a fish attached.  I fussy cut the fish from a piece of the paper on the left side.  It was an easy and simple touch to replace bling on a man card.

Layout

The card base is 8 1/2 X 5 1/2 and scored at 4 1/4 with a top fold.  The Boho Blue layer is 5 1/4 X 4 and the plaid DSP is 5 1/8 X 3 7/8.  The layers are 1 3/8 X 3 1/2 for the Boho Blue. All three are the same size.   And the DSP pieces are all three cut 1 1/4 X 3 3/8.

Vintage Birthday

The fun Curved Occasions stamp set is a unique mix of images and sentiments.  I have used it today to create a birthday card with Vintage items.  That sounds so much better than Old!!!

Stampin' Up!, curved occasions, stargazing, azure afternoon, blends, jackie beers

Stamp Set

The Curved Occasions set has this cute little VW Bug convertible.  Anyone of my age group loved those cars.  So it had to be the star of this card.  And the disco ball, that’s just a given! LOL!!!  I wanted to use the roller skate because I actually roller skated competitively in my early days.  It would have been a great pairing of transportation from the time. 🙂  But the person the card is for did not skate, so the disco ball gets to be the second piece of nostalgia.

The little bug is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then colored with a variety of Stampin’ Blends.  And the disco ball is stamped with Smoky Slate.  It is a littler duller than the flashy original balls but that was the best I could do.  And again, this is a one stamp set card!

Papers

The papers used were blues to go along with the color of the bug.  I found this perfect DSP in the Stargazing Designer Series Papers.  It is the reverse side of one of the galaxy looking sheets.  The brightness of the Azure Afternoon stars was a perfect match.  And pairing it with the Azure Afternoon card base tied everything together.  Of course I had to add just the thin layer of Basic White to separate the blues as well as help the focal White layer blend in.

Modern Birthday

Todays card is a break from Christmas cards and back to birthdays.  This one has a mix of products that I hope you will like.  Most are from the Modern Garden Suite.

Stampin' Up!, Modern Garden, Garden Walk, Modern Oval, Bough Punch, Jackie Beers

Papers

The paper is where the color choices were chosen from so starting there is a good point.  The two pieces you see of DSP, the left side and the area behind the sentiment, are from the Garden Walk Designer Series Paper.  Actually they are opposite sides of one piece of the paper.  And did you notice the torn edge?  That is something I have not done in forever.  Another old technique that is always in style!

The card base is pulled form the DSP and is Poppy Parade.  And even though I know that blue flowers are very rare, I had to pull the Boho Blue from the paper for the thin layer as well as a few flowers.  The boughs behind the sentiment are punched from Pretty Peacock card stock.  **The Bough Punch is back in stock as of yesterday!!!!

Stamp Bundle

This stamp set is a Punch Bundle and I love it.  There are several different sentiments and flowers, even a poinsettia.  It is the Modern Garden Bundle.  And the Punch is the Modern Oval Punch.  It is a great size for medium to larger sentiments.  All of the floral stamps I used, and I used several, are in the stamp set.  I could have gone a bit overboard, but just loved trying the different ones and adding colors from the DSP piece.  The flowers on the sentiment layer are probably supposed to be definitions for the larger flowers.  But I thought they were cute enough to be their own flower.

Finishes

To complete the card I need bling of course.  But first I added some loops of the White Iridescent Ribbon under the sentiment layer.  It does not show up well in the photo but does add texture in person.  And the final touch is the addition of the Adhesive Backed Sequin Trio.  There are more than my normal three here.  I added one to the center of each stamped flower!  This is a happy birthday card after all.

Birthday Cake

The card I have to share today is a really simple birthday card.  It stars the Curved Occasions stamp set.  This is one that comes with the arched punch as a bundle.

Stampin' Up!, Curved Occasions, Bright & Beautiful DSP, Bubble Bath, Fresh Freesia, Iridescent Pearls, Jackie Beers

Stamps

The card I made is a very simple and somewhat plain one.  I love quick and easy cards and this is one that is simple, may be considered plain, but is pretty.  And that is my main goal, a pretty card.  The Curved Occasions Stamp set is a mix of single images that are perfect as stand alone focal layers.  This card could be a birthday, wedding shower, or any special occasion that requires cake!  I stamped the cake with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored the leaves and flowers with Stampin’ Blends.  I also added a touch of the Sea Foam Green on the cake to not have it totally white.

Papers

The colors of the card came from the DSP choice of course.  That is pretty much my norm.  This one is from the Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Paper.  It is a mix of Bubble Bath and Fresh Freesia.  A perfect combination for a sweet birthday.  To further carry those colors I used Fresh Freesia as the card base and then a layer of Bubble Bath behind the cake layer.  The finishing touch is a scattering of Iridescent Pearls that I colored with both the Fresh Freesia and Bubble Bath Stampin’ Blends.

Translucent Pop Up

The card I have for you today is one that I had a blast making.  It is a fun Pop Up card with way more than my normal of stamping.  The star of the show is the wonderful Translucent Florals Bundle.

Stampin' Up!, Translucent Florals, Masterfully Made, Vellum Basics, Pansy Patch, Cheerful Daisies Dies, Jackie Beers

Stamp Bundle

The Translucent Florals Bundle is one of the stamp designs that I love the most.  All of the images have a bold outline but a soft filling to them.  It looks like a Two Step Stamping but with one stamp instead of two different ones that are layered.  There is no worrying about lining the two up properly.  For this card I used a variety of the sizes of flowers as well as the leaves in the set.  And the matching Dies of course are wonderful as always!

Papers

The different papers are always important to me as I love the DSP and card stock from Stampin’ Up!.  This time I used Berry Burst regular card stock along with Basic White to stamp on.  I also added the Basic Vellum paper to stamp on.  The most important thing to note when stamping on vellum is there is a chance of smearing.  So stamp carefully, no sliding around, and then give it sufficient time to dry. Drying time may seem to take forever, but is well worth the wait.  And you can speed it up a little with a heat tool.

The top background layer is a third paper used.  It is from the fabulous Masterfully Made Designer Series Paper.  This sheet includes the Berry Burst but in a lighter version.  The detail in this paper is wonderful when you look closely.  It is like the page is from a book, colored and stamped on over top of the writing.  I love it!

Inside

I mentioned that this card is a Pop Up.  It is a layout I cased from Lisa Cursio.  It really is pretty simple and a lot of fun to make.  Here is an open view.

I have made pop up cards before, just not in a while.  This one was fun in that it allowed me to use a lot of flowers and greenery.  Normally I would not have this much White space to cover.  As with the flowers on the front of the card, some are stamped on Vellum and others on White.  The larger of the leaves was an opportunity to have it stick up further when the card is open.  And the little strip of DSP was a trim off of the front layer, just the opposite side.  I thought it was a perfect spot for yet another flower.

Finishes

The sentiment is a mixture of additional products.  The sentiment came from the Pansy Patch stamp set.  And for the fun outline, the die is from the Cheerful Daisies Dies.  That little bit of detail adds a lot to the card.  For the finishing touch I scattered some of the White dots from Classic Matte Dots.

Thank you for stopping in today!!  I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
