Quick Treat Holder

Today’s project is a quick and easy Treat Holder.  It is similar to the old time “sour cream” holders.  All you need is a bit of pattern paper.

Stampin' Up!, Gingham Cottage, Scary Cute, Label Me Fancy, Jackie Beers

Paper and Holder

This treat holder came about from necessity!  Having purchased some long chocolate covered pretzel treats for some special Halloween friends, I could not decide how to decorate it.  What I am sharing was my first idea and is based on the old Sour Cream Container idea.  If you are unfamiliar with that it is basically like a tube of paper, think toilet paper roll, and you then secure the ends in opposite directions to make a triangle shape.

Since these pretzels were so long, I went with only securing the bottom end and leaving the top open.  By using the Gingham Cottage Designer Series Paper I could make lots of treat holders in the same pattern.  This pack of papers is one of the larger ones, and has multiples of each pattern.  For this holder I used a piece that is 4 X 9 3/4.  It is scored 1/2″ across the bottom of the 4″.  Add some Tear & Tape at that score line and then down one side.  Roll it up and secure the side and then pinched the bottom closed.  This would work on any similar treat.   All you need is enough paper to go around the treat and then an inch longer than the treat.  As I said, Easy Peasy!!

Stamps, Punch, and Finishes

For the tag I used the Scary Cute stamp set.  These sentiments are so sweet.  And that is what I like.  The sentiment and the bats were stamped on a scrap of Basic White using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.  For the shape I used the Label Me Fancy Punch.  The shape reminds me of military dog tags with the rounded ends.  Also, the punch has a ribbon slot as well as a circle hole.  After punching the shape, I then punched the hole in the end to run my ribbon through.

To finish the treat I went with Baker’s Twine.  My plan was the Bakers Twine Essentials Pack, which contains a solid Black roll of twine.  But in my ribbon drawer was this piece of Black and White twine.  This was a look I preferred.  But ended up using both.  We all have leftovers of ribbon and twine that still work on our projects don’t we!  The twine was wrapped around a couple of times and then tied in a simple knot.  I hope you will use this quick and easy way of decorating some treats for Halloween or any occasion.

October InKing Royalty Blog Hop

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s October Blog Hop! Boo! Today we are sharing scary and sweet projects perfect for Halloween. We are excited to share our creations and hope you love them! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

Halloween to me is all about the fun side and none of the scary.  My card is about Halloween Happiness and a sparkly “good” witch.

Stampin' Up!, Bewitching Bundle, Scary Cute, Alphabest, Glimmer Paper, Jackie Beers

Stamps and Punches

Today’s card could have been made with one stamp set, but I let my mind wander and ended up expanding on the original idea.  The Bewitching Bundle was the beginning of this one.  The witch’s hat and feet were stamped and then colored with Stamping Blends.  For the hat, it was then punched using the matching Witch’s Hat Punch.  The glimmer hat band is part of the punch as well as the scattering of little stars.

For the “body” of the witch the Alphabest Bundle was used to create the BOO body parts.  The letters from the Alphabest stamp set were stamped onto the 2022-2024 In Color Glimmer Paper of Orchid Oasis.   They  were punched using the matching Best Label Punch.  To save this beautiful Glimmer Paper, I stamped and punched from the already cut layer.  By punching in the center no one knows that it has holes in it!

Open View

The sentiments on the inside of the card are from the Scary Cute stamp set.  As I said in the beginning, I like Happy and not scary.  So both of the sentiments are along the Happy line.  The center sentiment has more of the little stars to give it some color.  And for the lower sentiment I went with my favorite punch, the Double Oval Punch, to give some more of the Orchid Oasis Glimmer Paper.

Papers

The In Color Glimmer Paper has been mentioned and is the bling on this card.  But the other colors and DSP carry a lot of the weight as well.  The two pieces of DSP, actually three if you count the inside bottom flap, are from the Host rewards Paper named Celebrate Everything Designer Series Paper.  This is the same paper that I used on Monday’s card.  Believe me when I say that you really want this pack of paper!!

This fun fold card is one from The Paper Pixie that she calls a Joy Fold. I tweaked her measurements a little by adding the layer of glimmer paper.  Between the two photos you should be able to see how it goes together.

Birthday Card Organizer

Stampin’ Up! has a great new Kit that I absolutely LOVE!  It is the Birthday Card Organizer Kit.  Keeping up with everyone’s birthdays can be difficult for the most organized and caring among us.  There are little books, and of course a calendar, where you can normally keep these special dates written down.  But this goes one step beyond and has pockets to keep ready made cards with your lists.  Plus it is really pretty and very well made.  It will last for many years.

DETAILS

  • Kit includes one 8″ x 10″ (20.3 x 25.4 cm) monthly planner with space to record birthdays each month as well as a pocket sleeve to hold birthday cards.
  • Includes 12 full-size birthday cards, 6 of 2 designs, and 12 coordinating envelopes.
  • Includes Glue Dots, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Adhesive-Backed Embellishments, and Tear & Tape Adhesive
  • Includes die-cut florals and pieces ready for you to use—no prep work required!
  • Includes sticker sentiments and die-cut labels in Dutch, English, French, and German
  • Coordinating colors: Basic Black, Evening Evergreen, Petal Pink, Sahara Sand, and Soft Succulent

This view shows the inside cover with a pocket for cards.  But the first calendar page is also a pocket.  And they are thick pages.   These are not going to tear easily.  This photo was before I added the month sticker to the pages.

Cards

The Kit contains 6 each of two designs, as stated in the details.  Here are the two cards as they are shown on the instruction sheet that is included.

This one is a card base of the black and gray dots.  The two overlays are included as is the sentiment.

This card is my favorite!  I love the background and the image.  Plus you could recreate this card using the Cottage Rose stamp set.

Make It Your Own

Even though I totally love the floral card, the polka dot one is not exactly my style.  So I took one of the polka dot card bases and made my own card using the North Pole Mischief stamp set.

Stampin' Up!, North Pole Mischief, Classic Matte Dots, Birthday Organizer, Jackie Beers

All it took for this card was a few scraps of Tahitian Tide and Basic Gray for the strips.  Then just stamping and coloring with Stampin’ Blends for the images.  Easy Peasy!!

Please give this Birthday Organizer Kit a look.  What a great gift for someone who loves to send cards.  These are going to be included in my gift giving this year!  Please use my Host Code at the bottom and side of this post if your order is under $150.00.  Simply click on the photo below to be taken to my online store.

Wishing Joy

This past week I was together for a stamping day with some of my Stamp Club ladies.  We worked on whatever cards we wanted, but most were Christmas cards.  To be able to stamp together, laugh, and eat 🙂 is a great day.  That put me in the mood to continue with Christmas cards.  A variety of cards is what I prefer to send out, so I make groups of six of a design and then move on to another.  Today’s card is a fun, bright and quick card that could be adjusted to any occasion.  And it is a one stamp bundle card.

Stampin' Up!, Handmade Wishes, Handmade Tag Punch, Celebrate Everything, Polished Pink Open Weave Ribbon, Jackie Beers

Stamp and Punch Bundle

This cute card is made using the Handmade Wishes Bundle.  This bundle includes the Handmade Wishes stamp set and the Handmade Tag Punch.  Punch bundles are a wonderful “bang for your buck” in my opinion.  And this is a uniquely shaped punch.  The stamp set includes sentiments for different occasions along with some little images, like the gingerbread man.  To match the bright paper, I opted to stamp the different elements of my greeting in different colors.  The ability to create the greeting I wanted was an extra bonus!

Papers

This fun DSP is from the Celebrate Everything Designer Series Paper.  It is a Host Reward from the Mini Catalog.  And it is one of the super sized paper packs that is well worth the little cost.  Actually both of these pieces are from the same sheet.  The pretty pink twinkle is the reverse of the candy side.  And that led to the Polished Pink card base.  Using non traditional colors is fun and I love the brightness.  It is a smile card!

Finishing

To tie this card all together, I added ribbon over the joining of the two DSP patterns.  The Polished Pink Open Weave Ribbon works great here.  Plus it is very easy to work with on tying the bow.  The last step was to stamp, and then fussy cut. the little gingerbread man.  He is added at the top of the sentiment layer with Glue Dots and helps tie in all of the colors.

Hand Penned Pocket

The project I am sharing today is a card that is pretty and shows off the DSP.  The fact it can be used for a gift card is a wonderful bonus.

Stampin' Up!, Hand Penned Petals, Penned Flowers Dies, Sending Smiles, Texture Chic, Jackie Beers

Stamps

This card goes back to the Annual Catalog for all of the supplies.  The beautiful flower is from the Hand Penned Petals stamp set.  It is cut using the Penned Flowers Dies.  Because I went with brighter colors, it is offset with some softer ones.  The flower is stamped using Soft Suede Ink and the flower petals stamped using Petal Pink.  For a different look, and to not add an additional color, I left the leaves plain white.

By adding a simple greeting from the Sending Smiles stamp set, it does not take away from the other parts of the card.  Don’t get me wrong, I love the mixed fonts and cursive writing most of the time.  But this card seemed to ask for simple.  The sentiment is stamped with Mango Melody Ink and has the addition of a 2021-2023 Pearl to the left edge.

Paper

The best part of this card, besides it holding a gift card, is the beautiful Texture Chic Designer Series Paper.  And since I love brighter colors the Mango Melody in this sheet won my heart.  The fact that it surprisingly mixes well with Petal Pink is just a bonus!

The card base is Petal Pink with layers of Mango Melody.  And here is a view of the inside. This inside was left blank until I know who I am sending it to.  Do you ever do that?

Measurements and Directions

The card base of Petal Pink is cut to 10 3/4 X 5 1/2 and scored at 3 5/8 and 7 1/4.  At the far right 7 1/4 score line, cut from the top of the score line down to the bottom right of the card stock.  From the photo you can see that this piece then folds in to form the pocket.  By shortening the card stock to 10 3/4 from 11, there is no bulkiness at the fold.

The Mango Melody layers on the front and pocket are both cut to 3 3/8 X 5 1/4.  To cover the pocket you will cut one piece on the diagonal.  Save the extra for another card.  Next two pieces of the DSP are cut 3 1/4 X 5.  And the pocket piece is cut on the diagonal from top right to bottom left.  Since the DSP is not directional, the second half can be put aside with the extra half of the Mango Melody for your second card.

To finish this card, add Tear & Tape to the bottom of the diagonal pocket section.  By only securing the bottom, you have plenty of room for the White signature piece as well as a gift card.

Scottie Love

Today’s project shows some versatility with the Christmas Scottie.  I needed a rainbow card for a friend and the scottie fit perfectly.

Stampin' Up!, Christmas Scottie, Scottie Dog Punch, Rustic Harvest DSP, In Color Glimmer Paper, Jackie Beers

Stamps

The Christmas Scottie stamp set is a sweet set with versatility.  And that is something I love.  Plus it is a one stamp set card. The thought behind this card is the memory of the sweet Scottie ready to go for his daily walk.  The background plaid is stamped using Tahitian Tide and I love the brightness of it.  Sad occasions do not require subdued colors in my opinion.  And this card could be for an adopted new pet as well.

The Scottie is stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and the Stamparatus.  Since I stamped directly on the plaid, it required a few stampings.  The Stamparatus is ideal for this!  By stamping multiple times over the plaid, I did not have the white area around the pup should I have punched the image.

Papers

To finish the Scottie I added his bow using the In Color Glimmer Paper from the Annual Catalog.  The bow is part of the Scottie Dog Punch.  This Glimmer paper is so beautiful and adds just enough sparkle.  Plus the little Rhinestone gives him some bling!  For the background paper, I went with the Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper.  This is a “reverse” side of the all pumpkins sheet.  To bring in the Tahitian Tide I used the Tahitian Tide Stampin’ Blend to color between the smaller diagonal lines.  It was just enough.

Finishes

To complete this card I wanted the sentiment to pop.  Even though this is a Christmas set, this lovely sentiment is part of the Christmas Scottie stamp set.  It is stamped on White with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then the ends were flagged with my Paper Snips.  To complete the card I used some of the In Color Bakers Twine that is a mix of White and Tahitian Tide.  It is intended to represent a leash with it being attached to the color and the little hand grip hanging down.
