Simply Timeless

Today I am showcasing another of the new stamp sets in the Annual Catalog.  I hope you were able to get your first order in yesterday.  The waiting on arrival is the hard part for me.  Wanting to see things in person and play with them has so many of us very excited.  Hopefully this little peek will help you with that.

Stampin' Up!, Timeless Arrangement, Festive Pearls, Pretty Peacock, Berry Burst, Jackie Beers

Stamp Bundle

This Timeless Arrangements Bundle is a wonderful bundle!  The floral images are great and the dies are even better.  The images were stamped in Pretty Peacock for the greenery and colored with Pretty Peacock Stampin’ Blends. Garden Green was used for the berry stems with the berries colored using Berry Burst Stampin’ Blends.

The fun sentiment is also from the stamp set.  And the Die is so cute!  It is a perfect size for so many sentiments.  There are tiny “x”s center top, bottom, right, and left.   They remind me of little cross-stitch x’s.

Paper

The paper for this card is pretty simple.  It is White on White.  But that is a good thing.  It shows the versatility and beauty of the stamps.  To add some detail, although it did not show in the photo, I did some scoring on the stamped panel.  I scored at 1/2″ all the way around.  And then I scored each 1/4″ from the top score line to the bottom score line between 1 1/2 and 2 1/2 marks.  In person it looks really nice and a bit on the elegant side.  Just remember to stamp before you score!

Finishes

This card is a really quick and easy one, even with the scoring and die cut sentiment.  I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to raise the sentiment.  But it still needed “something”.  To match the colors used I turned to the wonderful, and thankfully carrying over, Festive Pearls.  A trio of them are scattered around the card.

Fun Post

I hope you are as excited as I am for the new Annual Catalog to be LIVE!!!!!  My wallet is not quite as happy, but my heart is.  Waiting on the new items is the hardest part.  So I have a few new products to share with you in today’s card.

Stampin' Up!, Stamped With Love, countryside corners, quatrefoil, azure afternoon, jackie Beers

Stamps

If you have been following me for very long, you know that I love the whimsical and just different stamp sets.  This stamp set is not really different, but it spoke to me.  And I am so happy it did.  I believe this is the perfect image for a number of reasons.  It is on page 117 of the new catalog.  To make the post box a little brighter, I decided to add the touches of blue.  The POST is stamped again on scrap with the Azure Afternoon Ink Pad. It is cut close to the letters and then overlayed over the black letters.  I wanted it to stand out more and that was a simple way to do that.  The pretty plaque on the box is colored with the Azure Afternoon Stampin’ Blends.

A simple Note is a great reason for a card.   Especially when the  sentiment is so elegantly scripted for the I Like You sentiment.  To go along with that sweet front sentiment, the inside one is even better.  Sadly I forgot to take a picture of it.  But it is a very plain block letter that says “so you get a card” !!  I love that!  You get classy and simple all in one card.

Layers and Colors

The card base is Basic White to go along with the image layers.  And the first thin Basic Black layer is to add to the pop of the black with the post box and the sentiment.  The pretty layer is the Azure Afternoon card stock embossed using the Quatrefoil Tile Embossing Folder.  In my mind it somewhat is similar to the plaque on the post box.

Dies

The fun shapes for the image and sentiment are from the Countryside Corners Dies.  There are five dies like the image one and then two small for sentiments.  They are a great size for most images and for layering.  The sentiment piece is another example of a use of the die.  It is the smaller of the 5 same shaped ones.  I die cut it and then stamped in the upper end.  Using the Paper Trimmer I then cut it just below the sentiment.  By placing it in the bottom corner, it seems a perfect shape and fit.  The final touch was a scattering of the Classic Matte Dots in black.  The third one is sort of hiding.  It is in the center of the blue plaque on the post box.

Thank you for stopping by today!  Please let me know if you have any questions.

Barking In The Rain

Today is the last day of the Retiring Mini Catalog, current Annual Catalog and the Retiring List.  Tomorrow is an exciting day because we can all finally order from the New Annual Catalog!  Woohoo!!!

My card today is a fun carrying over stamp set.  It has been one of my favorites from the Retiring Mini Catalog.  It is Playing In The Rain along with the, sadly retiring, Rain Or Shine DSP.

Stampin' Up!, Playing In The Rain, Rain Or Shine, Copper Clay, Jackie Beers

Stamp set and matching DSP

To be honest, the only stamping on this card is the Oh Happy Day and the inside.  But I do love the size and boldness of this happy sentiment.  It says I am excited about this day.  And since this card is a birthday card for a friend, I am happy.  Our friend takes his dogs to the Bark Park every day wether Rain or Shine.  So looking at this paper and the umbrella gave me the idea.

And yes, I think this is a fox, but it works anyway!  This Rain or Shine Designer Series Paper is so fun for any age.  Especially the various images.  I die cut the fox from the paper using the Stylish Shapes Dies.  It was close to the edge, so I used that to maximize paper.  And I like the unexpected of the image being on the edge.  The sentiment was cut using the same Dies, just a smaller size. LOL!

Colors

The colors for the layers and card base were pulled from the fox.  I wanted to try some of the upcoming new In Colors.  This one uses Copper Clay.  It is a reddish brown, just like our Georgia Clay.  (And just so you know…..that stuff is almost impossible to get out of clothing!)  That said, it pairs perfectly with the fox and the darker colors in the rain paper.

Finish

To add bling is generally my last touch.  This time it is really not blingy.  I added one of the 2022-2024 Matte Dots.  This one is supposed to be the Sweet Sorbet I believe.  But this softer shade matches the Calypso Coral of the umbrella.  I wanted just a bit of a highlight and this worked perfectly.

Thank you for stopping by today!

Little Friend

I love quick and cute cards, and that is what I have today.  The fun stamp set By My Side carried over to the upcoming catalog and I am sharing it.

Stampin' Up!, By My Side, Butterfly Kisses DSP, Starry Sky, Jackie Beers

Stamps

The images in this stamp set are fun and cute stamps.  Just happy young people having a good day.  They are all wonderful, but this is probably my favorite.  I love her curly hair and that adorable butterfly friend.  These were all stamped with Memento Black and then colored using Stampin’ Blends.  The colors were pulled from the fun DSP.

Papers

This fun DSP is the retiring Butterfly Kisses Designer Series Paper.  It fits the little butterfly in the image perfectly I thought.  And since I love Bright colors, it is a wonderful option.  All of the colors used came from the DSP.   I used a Basic White card base with a layer of Starry Sky to separate the DSP.  And to help the images pop, I went around both the image and the sentiment with the Stampin’ Write Marker.  To simply drag it around the edges leaves a dark line.  Using the Starry Sky Marker mimics the thin layer of Starry Sky card stock.

Finishes

To give the image some grounding, I did a zigzag with the Petal Pink Soft Polyester Ribbon.  It is lighter than the Calypso Coral in the DSP, but still works.  For a replacement bling, I went with the 2022-2024 Matte Dots.  These are the In Colors of Starry Sky and Parakeet Party that are in the DSP also.  There is a scattering of the two color dots on the image and sentiment.

Thank you for visiting today!  I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

For You

The card I have for you today includes final sharing of Amazing Year stamp set and the Regency Park Designer Series Paper.  Both are still available in the Last Chance Items sale.  And are great items to have in your craft room!

Stampin' Up!, Amazing Year, Regency Park, Watercolor Paper, Jackie Beers

Stamp

Personally I love single stamps for a front image.  This one is a favorite as it is simple and the tag fits a variety of occasions.  Since the image is stamped onto a watercolored piece, I was hesitant about using the Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.  But it worked perfectly!  I was very careful using the Stampin’ Blends for the bits that I colored though.  The writing tip was a little easier to control how much ink came out.  The watercolor paper can cause some smears.

Watercoloring

To create the striped watercolor background was a piece of cake.  Last weekend I was with a group of fellow demonstrators stamping, laughing, eating, and laughing some more.  My upline created a card with a larger background like this.

To make the background, I used the Water Color Paper from Stampin’ Up! and the widest of the trio of brushes in the Water Painters.  To add a couple of drops of re-inker to a bowl was all I needed with the water in the Water Painter.  Mix it around and draw it across the paper.  The imperfections are what makes it great.  Of course, you do this before you stamp the image!!  I used Crushed Curry for my stripes.

Papers

All of the colors are from the piece of DSP.  It is from the Regency Park Designer Series Paper.  Sweet Sorbet is the card base with Crushed Curry as the layer.  The strip of Shaded Spruce came about as I was originally going to use that as the layer.  Then decided the yellow stripes needed more yellow.  But the strip was what was trimmed off and seemed like a fun addition to break up the two other colors.

Finishes

The stripes stand out as something different on this card.  But it still needed some bling for a finish.  Pearls have always been a “go to” for me.  So since I have quite a lot of them still, I went for what I love.  They are scattered on the tag and one flower in addition to the trio at the top of the Shaded Spruce strip.

Seasonal Blue

Today’s card is showcasing a new Stamp Bundle and new Designer Series Paper.  Plus a Twist card that I have shared previously.

Stampin' Up!, Seasonal Branches, Countryside Corners, Countryside Inn, Misty Moonlight, Jackie Beers

Stamp Bundle

It is difficult to choose the star of this card.  So we will begin with the Stamp Bundle.  It is the Seasonal Branches Bundle.  I have used the bird, berries, tree branches, and sentiments.  There are different options than the berries to go on the branches.  This is a year round stamp set and I cannot wait to explore those other seasons with it.

Due to the DSP, I opted for Blues here.  So the berries are maybe blueberries????  In my imagination they are some type of blue berry anyway.  The bird is colored with shades of Boho Blue to match the papers.  And the sentiment is the same as the branches, which is Pecan Pie Ink.

Papers and Blue

The card base is Misty Moonlight card stock with layers of Boho Blue.  This is a great pairing in my book.  And they are both in the beautiful DSP.  The DSP is the Countryside Inn Designer Series paper.  After seeing it up close, the blue combinations are gorgeous, with hidden animals in some of the papers.  It is really great paper and a mix of blues.

To further add the Blue, I chose to wrap a piece of the Boho Blue In Color Ribbon around the card.  And I also used the new Adhesive Backed Solid Gems.  These are in yellow, pecan, and blue.  I chose to add a few of the blue ones, and then a single of the pecan next to the sentiment.  Also, I forgot to mention that the sentiment is stamped and die cut using the smallest of the Countryside Corners Dies.  It was stamped to the right and then cut off straight to fit on the layer.

Fold

This fold is the same I used a few weeks ago.  It looks like a Book Fold card from the main photo.  But it has a hidden twist to it.  Here  is the open view.  It goes from a horizontal card to a portrait card when opened.  So fun!!

UPDATE:  06-22:   Here is a quick PDF of the basic directions. I do not have all of the measurements for the layers, just the basic directions.  Click on the mini picture below.
