Autumn Leaves

I know the Autumn Leaves paper is unavailable but it is returning.  And this paper is so gorgeous that it can be used year round.  The Autumn Leaves Bundle and all of the other Suite products are available now.  So I have a really pretty card to share.

Stampin' Up!, Autumn Leaves, copper & natural ribbon, Speckled Dots, Jackie Beers

Stamp Bundle

The Autumn Leaves Bundle is a wonderful one!  The leaves stamped have a two step look to them, which I love.  My leaves are all stamped off before stamping on the Very Vanilla card stock.  I wanted a softer look for the leaves.  I have also stamped on scrap one of the Blackberry Bliss leaves and the two small green leaves.  Those two are connected but I cut them apart for my layout.  They give a bit of dimension to the card, especially with the one hanging over a bit.

The leaves all have matching dies.  There are both solid and embossed dies  for each leaf.  And that great sentiment layer is one of the dies as well.  I really like the indented corners and stitching around the edge.

Additional Suite Products

This card uses all products in the suite with the exception of the Oxidized Copper Specialty paper.  I did use a small strip of the DSP, but you could use any color matching paper there.  The stamped leaves panel was embossed using the Distressed Tile 3D Embossing Folder.  I love all of the texture of this embossing folder!  We have had tile products before but I have to say that this is by far my favorite.

The other products from the suite I used are the Adhesive Backed Speckled Dots.  There is a single one of the green on the sentiment layer.  There was so much color and texture everywhere already, but that sentiment needed a touch of bling.  And the final item is the Copper & Natural Ribbon Combo.  I only used the copper ribbon.  It is zigzagged behind the sentiment.  The ribbon is very easy to work with and adds a great shine and color.

Papers

The paper choices were a problem because there were too many choices!  I went with Blackberry Bliss as the card base.  I love the deep purple leaves in Fall so I naturally gravitated to that color.  It pairs great wit the Copper Clay layers and the touch of the Old Olive of the DSP strip.

The card is a little different from the normal.  It is 5 1/2 X 7 1/2 and still scored at 4 1/4.  This leaves the 1″ section on the right side for the strip of DSP.  And it makes for a pop of pretty DSP without having to use a lot of it.  I have a large card club and to only use a strip allows me to spread my paper a bit further.  The same may apply when doing multiples of a card!

Tri Fold Meadow

Today’s card includes my favorite paper from the Mini Catalog.  It is the Winter Meadow Designer Series Paper.  I love the blues with a pop of berry with them.

Stampin' Up!, Winter Meadow, Magical Meadow, Modern Oval , Jackie Beers

This card is a CASE from The Paper Pixie, Julie DiMatteo.  I love the really simple layout.  Here is a look at the open view.

Papers

I do love the DSP, Winter Meadow Designer Series Paper.   Cutting it was so fun, and sad at the same time. LOL!!  I did this card for my stamp club and it was wonderful to see the different looks depending on the part of this piece of the DSP was used on each card.  I cut it into strips so that the top and bottom pieces matched back together, or at least were close. And where I tend to have a few layers, I shocked even myself with putting the DSP right onto the card base.  The card base is Pretty Peacock as the loan green from the paper.

Stamps, Dies, and Punches

The matching stamp set to the DSP is the Magical Meadow.  It is a bundle, and I only used one die from the matching Die set.  This is a minimalist looking card and I love that for a different style than my norm.  The focal layer is a sentiment included in the stamp set.  It is stamped with the sentiment and the smoky looking tree scene on a scrap of Basic White.

The little tag is then punched using one of the new Punches in a different Punch Bundle.  This is the Modern Oval Punch.  It is a great size!  The sprigs are dies from the Magical Meadow Bundle.  I cut two of them from Misty Moonlight card stock to mimic those in the DSP.  They are layered and then the oval is added with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The inside center panel is where you would sign your name.  I added the same tree scene there as well.  Being originally from East Tennessee, the smoky looking tree scene reminds me of my Smoky Mountains! The finishing touch is a single bling from the Faceted Gems Trio.

Measurements

The card base is 4 1/4 X 11 and scored at 4 and 6 3/4.  There are no layers except the DSP.  Be aware when folding your card and cutting your DSP that the two larger sections are not the same size.  The top section is the smaller one, and requires paper cut to 4 X 3 3/4 and the bottom section paper is 4 X 4.  For the white center section it is 4 X 2 1/2.

Beary Special

Today’s card is a fun use of the Beary Cute Bundle of products.  These bears remind me of the old Coca Cola white bears each Christmas.  And since it is a punch bundle, it had two reasons for coming to my house!

Stampin' Up!, Beary Cute, A Walk in the forest, Balmy Blue, jackie beers

Stamp Bundle

The Beary Cute Bundle is stamps and a bear punch.  All of the stamps used are from this stamp set.  I love these type cards!  My idea was to create a little snow scene like I remember of the Coca Cola bears.

The scene began by stamping the left side bear on a piece of white card stock the same width as the DSP piece.  Next I added the tree.  It is an outline and the filling, so two stamps.  Then I fussy cut a quarter of the way up the bear, around him and the tree so they appear to be in the snow.  The scene continued to the other side as just an inch or so of “snow”.

The standing bear and the gift were stamped on scrap and fussy cut for the gift and punched for the bear.  They are both added to the scene with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Papers and Inks

The snowy DSP piece is from the A Walk In The Forest Designer Series Paper.  It was the catalyst for the card.  So the card base is Balmy Blue with a layer of Smoky Slate for the bear color.  To put the scene together with the layers I was brave and stamped the Merry Christmas directly onto the snow DSP.   The tree is stamped both the outline and filling with Shaded Spruce Ink.  The single bling is the one Adhesive Backed Glitter Sequin in blue at the top of the tree.

Multifold Christmas

The card I have to share today is a fun fold with extra folds!  It is a use for all of the DSP we tend to hide away.  This really shows off the beauty of the paper.  It also stars a wonderful new multi-season stamp set.

Stampin' Up!, A Walk In The Forest, Cheers To The Season, Brightest Glow, Jackie Beers

Stamps

This card was highlighted as the star being a Multi-fold card.  But I truly love this stamp set so am going to begin there.  There are three stamps in the Cheers To The Season stamp set.  They are all distinctive ones like this lovely Christmas stamp.  There is also a wine glass with Cheers written on it, and a fall one with a maple leaf.  I really like them all and they are great for quick cards.

The inside sentiment is from the Brightest Glow stamp set.  It was a carryover from a previous catalog and is full of beautiful sentiments for your Christmas cards.

Papers

The star of the card in terms of paper is this 1/2 sheet of A Walk In The Forest Designer Series Paper.  I cased this card from Connie Stewart.  My first thought was that it used a large amount of DSP.  Then I looked at my paper shelf and just laughed.  You would think I was a hoarder of DSP looking at what I have stored.  So I need cards like this one!!!

The layout of this card allows you to see both the front and back of the DSP.  Which means you need to look carefully if you have directional paper.  Mine is not so the scoring was pretty simple.  I just needed to decide which paper is my inside view and score with that side facing up.  ** If the paper is not directional this is not as much of a concern as you can refold the paper.

The 12 X 5 1/2 DSP is scored at 1 3/4, 4 3/4 and 7 3/4.  Then fold and burnish with a mountain in the center.  I always fold my valleys into mountains to make sure the score lines line up properly, then if it needs to go the opposite direction, I can then refold and burnish.  Just do not burnish the first fold until you are sure of direction as not to tear the paper.

Inside View

This view allows you to see the folds and the mountain in the center.  I have a layer of Garden Green card stock behind the White sentiment layer.  It probably should have been Cherry Cobbler like the front layer!  The front layer is 3 1/2 X 3 1/2 with a 3 1/4 X 3 1/4 white layer.  And you can see that it is only adhered to that front folded section.

The only thing to be careful of is your inside sentiment.  Do not place it too high so that it shows when the card is closed.  And with a scattering of the Festive Pearls in Red on the front panel the card is a quick finish!

Country Strips

The card I have to share today is a quick and easy one.  It stars the beautiful Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper.  And is great for your leftover pieces.

Stampin' Up!, Countryside Inn, Lasting Joy, Circle Sayings, Countryside Blossom, Jackie Beers

Papers

The star of this card is the DSP strips.  As I said above, they are from the Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper.  Each one is cut 1 X 4.  These are the sort of strips that I tend to have leftover.  What a great way to use those leftover, but so cute, little strips of paper.

The strips are adhered to a Basic White panel that is embossed using the Countryside Blossoms Embossing Folder.  This adds some great texture to the background.  With a thin layer of Misty Moonlight between the Thick Basic White card base and the embossed layer is all the extra color I chose to use.

Stamps and Punch

The sentiment layer is from the Circle Sayings Bundle.  And it is a Punch Bundle.  There are a variety of sentiments and images that fit inside the 2 3/8″ Circle Punch.   I really love Circle Punches!!!  The flowers at the top and sentiment are from the stamp set.  The little flowers on the bottom are from the Lasting Joy stamp set.  How perfect is that!  I also used a sentiment from that set on the inside.  With a scattering of the Boho Blue pieces from Adhesive Backed Solid Gems as flower centers the card is complete.  So a quick card as well as one starring leftover paper strips!

Translucent Pop Up

The card I have for you today is one that I had a blast making.  It is a fun Pop Up card with way more than my normal of stamping.  The star of the show is the wonderful Translucent Florals Bundle.

Stampin' Up!, Translucent Florals, Masterfully Made, Vellum Basics, Pansy Patch, Cheerful Daisies Dies, Jackie Beers

Stamp Bundle

The Translucent Florals Bundle is one of the stamp designs that I love the most.  All of the images have a bold outline but a soft filling to them.  It looks like a Two Step Stamping but with one stamp instead of two different ones that are layered.  There is no worrying about lining the two up properly.  For this card I used a variety of the sizes of flowers as well as the leaves in the set.  And the matching Dies of course are wonderful as always!

Papers

The different papers are always important to me as I love the DSP and card stock from Stampin’ Up!.  This time I used Berry Burst regular card stock along with Basic White to stamp on.  I also added the Basic Vellum paper to stamp on.  The most important thing to note when stamping on vellum is there is a chance of smearing.  So stamp carefully, no sliding around, and then give it sufficient time to dry. Drying time may seem to take forever, but is well worth the wait.  And you can speed it up a little with a heat tool.

The top background layer is a third paper used.  It is from the fabulous Masterfully Made Designer Series Paper.  This sheet includes the Berry Burst but in a lighter version.  The detail in this paper is wonderful when you look closely.  It is like the page is from a book, colored and stamped on over top of the writing.  I love it!

Inside

I mentioned that this card is a Pop Up.  It is a layout I cased from Lisa Cursio.  It really is pretty simple and a lot of fun to make.  Here is an open view.

I have made pop up cards before, just not in a while.  This one was fun in that it allowed me to use a lot of flowers and greenery.  Normally I would not have this much White space to cover.  As with the flowers on the front of the card, some are stamped on Vellum and others on White.  The larger of the leaves was an opportunity to have it stick up further when the card is open.  And the little strip of DSP was a trim off of the front layer, just the opposite side.  I thought it was a perfect spot for yet another flower.

Finishes

The sentiment is a mixture of additional products.  The sentiment came from the Pansy Patch stamp set.  And for the fun outline, the die is from the Cheerful Daisies Dies.  That little bit of detail adds a lot to the card.  For the finishing touch I scattered some of the White dots from Classic Matte Dots.

Thank you for stopping in today!!  I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
