My Friend

I love making quick and easy cards.  Today I have a really good one and it begins with a new set of Cards and Envelopes debuting in the new Annual Catalog.

The catalogs have been arriving in mailboxes this week.  If you are a past customer of mine, you should be getting one from me.  If you do not currently have a demonstrator, let me know and I will be happy to send you one.  Remember, they do not go Live until June 3rd.

Isn’t this bright card base beautiful?  It is the new Flowers For Every Season Memories and More Cards and Envelopes.  The white dotted area is on the card itself.  I just added the stamped layers.  The pack contains cards in the new 2020-2022 In Colors.

The stamp set I used is the Field of Flowers set.  All of the images on the card are from that one set.  Having images and sentiments in one set is a favorite of mine!  I stamped the bottom section of grass and the flower stem in Shaded Spruce Ink.  The flowers are stamped in Melon Mambo.  The Ink pads of the new In Colors were not available on our preorder.  The Melon Mambo is just a shade darker than Magenta Madness.

The little dragonfly is stamped in Bermuda Bay to match the background layer.  I added some of the 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots for dimension.  I also added ribbon in the Magenta Madness.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you will look at these products when you get your new catalog.  Please let me know if you have any questions.

There is still time to purchase the digital stamp set below.  All proceeds go to the charities.

Below are links to the two Retiring or Last Chance Lists.  Keep in mind, a Bundle may retire, but the stamp set and dies or punch can still carry over.  So look for the individual item.  Also, all of the Stampin’ Blends are not retiring.  It is only that in the new catalog, they will be sold in the combo pack only.  The only ones retiring are the 2018-2020 In Color ones.

Hello Sunshine

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s May Blog Hop! During this year’s blog hops, we are enjoying a year of celebrations. This month’s projects celebrate Sunshine, so prepare yourself for projects that are filled with sunny images of joy in the great outdoors. We are excited to share our creations with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

I took the Sunshine theme literally with my project for today.  It is a pretty simple card that I hope brings a “Sunny” smile to you.

For me Dandelions are a definite summer and sunshine memory.  And I truly adore this Dandelion Wishes stamp.  I stamped it in Smoky Slate ink and layered it onto a Smoky Slate layer.  To add to my Sunny background I chose a piece of the Best Dressed Designer Series Paper.  Of course, this is one of the “other side” of the sheets of paper.  But I thought it fit perfectly for my theme.

My “Sun” is a piece of Daffodil Delight cut using the Painted Labels Dies.  The Hello Sunshine is from the Under My Umbrella stamp set.   I layered two of the Layering Circles Dies on the Sun layer to keep my Daffodil Delight and Smoky Slate colors going.

For the finishing touches I added the the Daffodil Delight Ruched Ribbon with just a simple knot.  For some Bling I added a couple of the Gold Glitter Enamel Dots in different sizes.

I hope you will leave comments on today’s projects as you hop along.  Also, I have the measurements, as well as the products I used today, listed at the bottom of the post.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you’ll hop along to the next stop on the blog hop, Lynn Kolcun at Avery’s Owlery. There’s lots of inspiration to be found in this group – and you don’t want to miss it!

Happy Day

I am saying a fond farewell to one of my past favorite stamp sets.  It is the Painted Harvest.  I used this main stamp several times as a sunflower, a wreath, and have loved every one of them.  I know we have to say goodbye so I wanted to make one last card with it.

In making this card, I am also playing along with the Global Design Project Sketch Challenge #242.  Here is the sketch I based the card from.

I love using challenges, especially sketches, to get card ideas. Then I generally do some additions to make them my own.

I used a couple of colors for the sunflower.  It is a base of Daffodil Delight, with the definition stamp in Mango Melody.  The center is Pumpkin Pie with a few additions of the Holiday Rhinestones.

I used some additional retiring products on this card as well.  The Leaf Punch is sadly going away.  For this I stamped the base with Shaded Spruce and then added Pretty Peacock as the definition stamp.  The DSP is also retiring.  It is the 2019-2021 In Colors DSP.  The colors are not retiring and thee will be a new pattern of this year In Colors and the new In Colors.

Thank you for stopping by today.  Please come back tomorrow for a great group of projects with the InKing Royalty Monthly Blog Hop.

Hugs and Thanks

I am sharing two cards with you today.  I needed to make a sympathy card and reminded myself before I began  to do two of the card.  Sadly, I don’t do that most of the time.  Generally it is because I am not sure where I am going with a card until it is almost finished. 🙂  Yesterday though I realized pretty quick where I was going and that it would make a very flexible card.

This is the card I made as the sympathy card.  The Inspiring Iris is a great stamp for an easy focal point.  The iris can be done in many colors.  I went with the Gorgeous Grape and then used small borders of Gorgeous Grape to really bring the color out.

The designer series paper is the soon to be gone Best Dressed 6 X 6 DSP.  One side is the purses, perfume, lipstick, etc.  The opposite side is a more general pattern.  There are a lot of different flowers, but I fell for this Old Olive polka dot piece.

The sentiment is from the Positive Thoughts stamp set.  I have  used this for a multitude of cards.  I just love the words.  Those three words are pretty powerful.

For the second card, I wanted to show that simply by changing the sentiment, it would work for other occasions.

I made this card as a Thank You.  You can never have too many of those on hand.  I also changed the cutting of the paper a bit.  This one shows more of the Gorgeous Grape.   And the Thanks is from the Inspiring Iris stamp set.  You know how I love the one set cards!

Thank you for stopping by today.  I really appreciate it and hope you have a relaxing holiday  I will be remembering military personnel who paid the ultimate sacrifice for us.

Geared Up

Even though the Geared Up Garage stamp set is carrying over, I realized I had not used it often and especially had not used the accessories.  So I had to fix that little issue and made a card that is quick, cute, and masculine.

I love this car as a masculine card, but it could very well be a female card with her favorite car color.

For this one I began with Crumb Cake card stock, Layered Soft Suede that I embossed with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder.  And then topped it with Very Vanilla card stock.

The Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder is a new one and is Super!  It looks like a furniture fabric to me.  Or a more deeply embossed version of the Subtle Embossing Folder.  I think it will join the Subtle Folder for a “perfect for any card” type go to background.

The car is stamped in Soft Suede with Sahara Sand as the “exhaust” !  When I first saw that stamp and tried to figure out what to do with it, that is what I saw.  I hope I am not the only one who sees exhaust or dust coming from the back of the car.

For the sentiment, I stamped it in Soft Suede as well.  Both layers are cut using the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. To add the little Key, I used a 10″ piece of Linen Thread.  I placed the thread centered over the front of the sentiment and went around back and then back to the front with each end.  I tied a knot, added the key on one of the strings, and tied another knot.  I do love how that little key makes a big different on the card.

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you have a great weekend.  I look forward to sharing more projects with you next week.

Lovely Smile

For today’s project I am playing along with the Global Design Project Color Challenge.  This one was a little more challenging for me.

And here is the Color Challenge:

I do love the color combination but had a bit of trouble coming up with a layout, etc.  I finally decided on showcasing the card stock.  I chose the Soft Seafoam as the main layer and embossed it with the Lace 3D Embossing Folder.  This is a folder that I rarely use, but love it here.

The flowers are from the Lovely You Stamp Set, as is the “Smile”.  I colored the flowers using my Stampin’ Write Markers.  I know they have been feeling underloved since the debut of the Stampin’ Blends.  However, I would never do away with them as they are the perfect thing for stamps you want to add more than one color to, like these flowers. Sadly the Markers are not available individually, with the exception of the Basic Black.  They are great to have on hand though and worth the investment of a color family at a time.

I stamped the set of flowers and die cut them using the Tasteful Labels Dies in the upcoming catalog.  The extra flower on the banner, also a Tasteful Labels Die, I fussy cut and added with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I added a touch of Wink Of Stella to the flower petals for a bit of shimmer.

To ground the sentiment shape, I used the Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon in Whisper White.  It does not show a lot on the photo but it actually is a perfect compliment.  I also used the Sprig Punch to add some detail behind the image and to bring more of the Pretty Peacock to the front.

Thank you so much for stopping in today.  I really appreciate it.
