Welcome Fall Y’all

Today’s project is a Welcome Fall Y’all card using the Gorgeous Leaves stamp set along with the Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper.  I need a stamp with Y’all!!

Stampin' Up!, Gorgeous Leaves, Beauty of the Earth, Banner Pick A Punch, Jackie Beers

Stamps

These beautiful leaves with the little dots around them are from the Gorgeous Leaves stamp set.  The little dots add a ton of definition to each leaf in my opinion.  It is just enough of an extra touch.  I also added with Sahara Sand, that is stamped off first, the splatter stamp for even more background flavor.  The two leaves are not all of the leaves in the stamp set.  I only had room for the two for this design.

Paper

The card base is from Thick Basic White cardstock.  I did not add an extra White layer as I sometimes do. The stamping is directly on the card base.  The gorgeous paper is a piece from the Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper.  I cut a piece that measures 4 X 5 1/4 and then cut it on the diagonal.  That gives me two cards.  One has the layout I am showing you and the other has the wider section of DSP at the top instead of the bottom.  That card ends up being a softer looking one.

Finishing Touches

I added a banner in Sahara Sand cardstock to bring out the Sahara Sand splatter a bit more.   I stamped the Welcome from the Garden Birdhouse stamp set in Misty Moonlight to add more of the Blue to the card.  And  we want to Welcome Fall Y’all!!!  For the final touch, I added one of the Champagne Rhinestones to the banner.

Fall Slim Card

I have been working on a Skinny card for a card swap.  It has been very difficult getting the layout I want.  There have been some good results and some not so good ones.  Today is one of the good results that I liked but decided not to use in the swap.  So I thought I would share it with you.

Stampin' Up!, Gorgeous Leaves, Pretty Pumpkins, Jackie Beers

Stamps

There are two really awesome stamp sets used on this card.  The first is the Pretty Pumpkins stamps.  This trio of pumpkins is my favorite from that set.  And it comes as a Bundle, I just didn’t use the dies.  The second stamp set is the Gorgeous Leaves.  It is also a Bundle, and I did use two of the Dies.

I love how well these two stamp sets work together.  Fall leaves and pumpkins are like Peanut Butter and Jelly!  They just go together.  The sentiment is such a sweet one and is from the Pretty Pumpkin stamp set. I just love it.

Colors and Finishes

Normally I would say Paper instead of Color, but I did not use any Designer Series Paper on this card.  That is very unusual for me.  I did choose some of my favorites of the colors I think of for Fall.  They are Cinnamon Cider and Soft Succulent for the card base and layer.

The stamped leaves are more of the great Fall colors.  They are Merry Merlot, Cinnamon Cider with some speckles of Pale Papaya.

To finish the card I went to the Annual Catalog for some ribbon.  It is from the Flowers For Every Season Ribbon Combo.  The gingham is actually Just Jade instead of Soft Succulent, but the color matches very well.  The final touch was two die cut leaves from Merry Merlot cardstock.  These dies are so intricate (The name of the dies are Intricate Leaves!) that it really pops against the white cardstock.

Pumpkin Corner

Pumpkins are popping up everywhere now.  So I have a pumpkin card to share.  It is a second look at the Corner Tuck Card I shared a few weeks ago.

Stamps

I truly Love the stamps in the Pretty Pumpkins stamp set. The matching Dies are awesome as well, but I did not use them today.  I stamped the three pumpkins, which is one stamp, and then colored with Stampin’ Blends.  The pumpkins are colored using Both Pumpkin Pie , Light Cinnamon Cider, and Light Old Olive.  I stamped the pumpkins with Soft Suede Ink.

Everyone seems to have their own way of coloring with the Stampin’ Blends.  When I want some shading, like with these guys, I start with an all over using the Light Blend.  I then come back and add the Dark where needed.  I finish with the light again and only drag the dark colors into the lighter area.  By not going all over with the Light the second time, I get the really light in the center of the larger pumpkin.  However, if you have a method that works for you, then stick with it!

Paper

I used the Host Rewards Paper Pack of Pattern Party Designer Series Paper.  This pack of paper is awesome!  The colors are great, as are the patterns.  Plus you get a lot of paper for a very inexpensive price.  The only downside is that you can only purchase it with Host Rewards.  Anyone interested in a Party???

Measurements and Folds

  • The base card of Pumpkin PIe is cut 4 1/4 X 8 and scored at the 2 1/2 mark, fold and burnish
  • The left side strip layer of Old Olive is 1 X 4
  • The left side strip of DSP is 7/8 X 3 7/8
  • The focal layer is Old Olive cut 3 X 3
  • The stamped White is cut 2 7/8 X 2 7/8
  • The upper right corner that is the Tuck, is a piece of Pumpkin Pie and a DSP piece both cut to 2 7/8 X 2 7/8. they are each placed at a diagonal on the Paper Trimmer and cut in half to form triangles.  Then glue the two together for thickness. you only use half, so save one for the next card.
  • The inside White, that you do not see, is cut 2 3/4 X 2 3/4

Assembly:

  • Place Stampin’ Dimensionals in each of the corners of the triangle double thick piece and place in the upper right corner.
  • Adhere the DSP and Old Olive strips together and place on the left side of the flap. Align the left edge, top and bottom.
  • Layer the Old Olive and Focal Layer together.  Place it, centered, up against the strip on the left .
  • Add the inside White for the sentiment, place it further left than normal so it doesn’t show when the card is closed.
  • Close the card by tucking the focal layer underneath the raised upper corner

I hope you enjoy this card.  Please let me know if you have any questions!

Bird Feeder

When looking through stamps for today’s project, I came across the Life Is Beautiful stamp set.  I have not used it previously.  And when I saw the stamp of the birds and birdhouse, I saw a birdfeeder.  We have several feeders and always have Cardinals around them.  So I am pretending the house is actually a feeder.

I live north of Atlanta and I had commented to my husband yesterday that with all the leaves still on the trees, it did not seem like December.  So I went with the Fall look of the leaves to match my imaginary bird feeder!

To get the multicolored leaves I used a reinker and baby wipe technique.  I folded up a baby wipe on my silicone mat and added reinkers in Mango Melody, Cherry Cobbler, and Cajun Craze.  I did a drop of each scattered around.  Because the stamp itself is one of the Distinctive stamps, it made an even more rough look to the leaves.  I was happy with how they came out.

And yes I made it look even more like a Fall card by using this sheet of the Plaid Tidings Designer Series   Paper.  I had to though.  It matched the leaves perfectly!

Thank you for stopping by today.  Please come back tomorrow for another new project.

Thankful Heart

I love little 3 X 3 cards to have as Random Act of Kindness cards.  I have handed out quite a few during this crazy year.  A friend of mine loves them as well.  So I keep her supplied, which in turn inspires me to use them.  Here are the latest ones I made for her to use.

I made five of each version.  There are only two versions, I just liked the picture with the three. LOL!

I used the Banner Year stamp said and paired it with the Plaid Tidings Designer Series Paper.  REMINDER: That is one of the DSP in the 15% Off Sale at the bottom of the post.  It ends on Saturday!!!

The base of the card is Thick Whisper White card stock cut to 6 X 3 and folded in half.  The DSP is cut 2 7/8 X 2 7/8.  The stamped piece is regular Whisper White and is cut 2 X 2.  I placed those on the diamond shape just as a contrast to all the plaid.

All of the stamped images are from the Banner Year stamp set.  This is a wonderful set that has greetings and images for most times of the year, but especially the Fall through Valentine.

As a finishing touch, I used the Daffodil Ruched Ribbon on the Pretty Peacock Plaid and Cinnamon Cider Ribbon for the bolder pattern.  The gold heart at the top is a retired item.  I felt that because of the sentiment , With A Grateful Heart, I needed a heart!

Thank you for stopping by today.  I appreciate your visits and your comments.  Please come back tomorrow for another new project.

Country Slim Card

As I said yesterday, I am sharing a Slim Line Card today.  I was late getting on the wagon for these cards, but have made quite a few now.  This one is a favorite, as I love the DSP in it.  Sadly, this is a DSP that is not included in the sale 🙁   But the paper is wonderful and really shines on the card.

Stampin' UP!, Country Home, Gilded Autumn, Jackie Beers

I believe this paper is gorgeous!!  It is the Gilded Autumn Designer Series Paper.  The gold in the pumpkins really shines.  I did not want to cover up that paper, so went with as small of a stamped layer as possible.  This is probably a first for me in that I did not add a layer beneath the focal layer!  A testament to the beauty of the DSP!

The stamped image is from the Country Home stamp set.  I do love this set.  The Milk Can and the Pitcher that the different flowers fit on top of are both favorites.  They remind me of my younger growing up time.  I actually have a milk can that was my Mom’s.

That sweet sentiment is also from the stamp set.  I stamped it in the Mossy Meadow that is predominant in the flower arrangement.  To finish it off, I added a single Gold Glitter Enamel Dot beneath the sentiment.

Thank you for visiting today.  I very much appreciate your support.  Monday I will have another new project and hope will you stop by.
