Anything Is Possible

The Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog debuted on Tuesday.  I am still going through the products from my pre-order.  That is a demonstrator perk.  I love the catalog and flipping through it, but everything is even better when it is in my hands!!  Today’s card is an example of that.

Flowers

The stamped image and the Designer Series Paper are both the Hand Penned Petals.  Oh My!  I thought it was pretty in the catalog.  In person is way more exciting.  The paper truly looks as if it is drawn in ink and then lightly watercolored.

For this card I chose the Single flower stem from the Hand-Penned Petals stamp set.  Choosing the color was hard, as all of the colors in the DSP would work.  I finally decided on the Highland Heather.  The image is stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black and I used the fill stamp for the purple flower.  The fill stamp left white places, as it shows on the DSP.  I decided to try an experiment.  Using the Highland Heather Dark Stampin’ Blend, I filled in the white spaces.  The look that created is almost like a bleached look.  I am happy with that experiment!

Finishing Touches

I put the card together and did not add a sentiment.  Then I second guessed myself.  I love the mix of fonts in each of the sentiments in this stamp set.  As soon as I saw this “Anything is Possible”, I knew it was the correct one to use.  That is such a sweet sentiment.

My final touch for the card was to add a Pastel Pearl in the center of the smaller flower.  I chose the one that is a light blueish color.  It brings out some of the very light blue in the DSP.  And I believe the single pearl was enough of embellishments.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I really do appreciate you looking at my projects.  All of the supplies I used are at the bottom of the post.

Confidently

I have another new stamp set to show today.  It is from the Mini Catalog and one that I have had, but have not inked up until now.  I do love it!  The stamped images are very detailed and stamp beautifully.  It is the Soar Confidently stamp set.  I needed a masculine card and gave this one a try.

I kept this very simple in terms of how much extra I added on.  It is for a young man and I didn’t think he would care for much bling!  I did use the Painted texture Embossing Folder again.  I really am excited every time I see all of the texture it leaves.  It may not be the perfect “sky” but I think it works well for it.

I stamped the hot air balloon and colored with patriotic colors in Light Real Red and Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends.  Since the background sky is blue, I thought those colors would work well.  I stamped the balloon in Night of Navy Ink.  A Tip:  let the Night of Navy dry a minute or two before you begin coloring or it may bleed over just a bit.  The balloon is raised using Stampin’ Dimensionals to add to the 3D effect of it floating.

I fussy cut the balloon and it was a really easy one to do.  For the sentiment, I used one from the stamp set.  I stamped it in Real Red on White cardstock and used the Banner Pick A Punch to get the banner tip on one end.

Thank you for stopping by today.  Please come back tomorrow for another new project.

You Go Girl!

I have never been a fan of really Girly things.  That is just not me.  But the minute I saw  the Hearts & Kisses Bundle in the Mini Catalog, I was in love.  Especially in love when I saw the punch!  I do love my punches.

Stampin up, hearts and kisses, stitched with whimsey, sand and sea, Jackie Beers

You may be surprised, but the gorgeous DSP is the Sand & Sea Designer Series Paper.  I love this variegated look on some of the sheets in the package.  I pulled all of the colors from the paper, of course!  The picture does not show the edges of the DSP well, but I used the Stitched With Whimsey Die around the edge.  It has a whimsical, hence the name, trail of stitching.  It shows in person but the busy of the paper doesn’t allow it to show in the photo.

The card base is Melon Mambo with a layer of Blushing Bride beneath the DSP.  All of the stamps are from the Hearts & Kisses set.  The background squiggle is stamped using Petal Pink.  The hearts and lips are each using Melon Mambo, Flirty Flamingo, and Blushing Bride.  I punched out each piece and raised them using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The sentiment is from the Hearts & Kisses as well.  I didn’t really have room to layer it as I normally would.  After looking at it a few minutes, I decided it would be a pretty straight cut.  So out came my Paper Snips and away I went.  I did cut straight across the bottom and top, with the exception of the tail of the “g” and the height of the “L and !”.  As I was finishing I noticed the angle after the explanation point and decided to go with that.  I also gave an angle to the other end.

Just a reminder about Sale-A-Bration!  With the purchase of the Hearts & Kisses Bundle, the Sand & Sea DSP, and a pack of card stock…you are at the $50.00 level for a FREE product from the Sale-A-Bration Catalog.  This bundle has a lot of flexibility, especially with the punch.  And you get FREE product.  WooHoo!!!

Special Balloon

I have a lot of Designer Series Paper as I am sure you know.  I use it on almost all of my cards.  This time of year I begin to panic that I have too much with the Annual Catalog winding down.  I had the idea of going through the papers and doing a card using each of the packages.  Silly me, that really isn’t going to put a dent in it!!! 🙂

I love the From My Heart Specialty Designer Series Paper.  So it was one of the first packages I picked up.  At first you may think it is only for romance or valentine.  I do not really think so.  It is for any card that comes from the heart.

I saw the sentiment in the Special Someone stamp set and just knew it was a perfect one for our current situation.  I think we all need some healing, even if we have not been sick.  The Special Someone stamp set has a matching set of dies that came out after the stamp set.  I really hope they carry over to the next Annual Catalog.  These critters are so adorable.

I stamped the squirrel and then masked the bottom section of the balloon.  It was too long for the layer I was planning.  I then used the Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Write Marker to make the little loop through his hand.  The balloon is stamped and then cut out for a bit of depth.

The sentiment is in two pieces as I have them.  I just cut them out with the Classic Label Punch and staggered them in the corner.  You can see the left end is the normal Classic Label punched end. The right side I put back into the end of the punch to get the flag look.

The two different DSP are both from the From My Heart DSP.  I love using companion pieces to compliment each other.

It may not seem so, but the Mini Catalog and the Annual Catalog are both coming to an end.  June is not too far away.  The Retiring List should be out around the first of the month.  If there are any products from either catalog still on your wish list, now is the time to order.  Especially the outgoing In Colors, they tend to go quickly.

I know there are products that are on the Not Orderable List due to the shipping slow down from China.  I will let you know as soon as I do when items are available again.

Tower Adventure

I love to travel and my trip for this year was canceled even before the virus hit.  Today’s card is a nod to hoping we can get back to our normal routines soon.  I cannot wait to plan my next trip.

This card is a quick and easy one.  It would qualify as a #simplestamping card since it is simply paper and ink.  I wanted a quick and not a lot of layers card.  This one is somewhat of a collage, or my version of that, since I do not normally do that.

I used the Love What You Do background stamp behind the tower.  The tower is from the Parisian Beauty stamp set, as are all of the other stamps.  Everything except the background is stamped in Gray Granite Ink.  The background is Pool Party Ink.

I love quick and easy cards and this is definitely one of those.  Thank you for stopping in today.  Hopefully the weather and the virus doesn’t touch you this weekend.

Paper Pumpkin Love

The title for today is what I am doing.  I am giving some Love to Paper Pumpkin kits.  I do not normally share the Paper Pumpkin cards here because once I have received mine it is too late for you to sign up to get this one.  Although you can sometimes get some of the past kits.

I thought I would show you how great the stamp sets are and that you can mix them with other Stampin’ Up! products to make a totally different card.  Here is what I made.

I paired the March Paper Pumpkin Kit with some of the Whisper White Notecards and Envelopes from the Annual Catalog.  I stamped the images on a piece of smaller card stock then layered it to the notecard with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I truly adore these rain boots!!  They are what made me decide to share with you.  They are a two step stamp. The outline of the boot is one stamp and then the overall flowers are a separate stamp.  So the flowers could be any color making your boot colors whatever you feel like for the day.  I wish I could do that in real life!!  With all the rain over the last three months, and its raining again!, I would love to have a variety of rain boots!

I wanted the flowers to be a little bit behind the rain boots to show some depth.  When I stamped the outline of the rain boots, I also stamped it on a scrap piece of paper.  I used the Paper Snips to cut out the left one.  After I had stamped the color for the boot, I placed the mask over the outline and stamped the flowers.  I use just a tiniest bit of snail adhesive in one spot to hold my mask in place.

Paper Pumpkin is a once a month box of fun stamping that arrives in your mail box.  You can purchase one month as a test to see if you like it.  Or, you can purchase multiple months.  You an even give it as a gift to someone you know would love a crafting gift that arrives each month.  The cost is 22.00 a month plus tax.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I have included in the Supply List the items I used that are not part of the PP box.
