Treat Bag

Today I have a Treat or Gift Bag to share with you.  This is quick and easy.  I used a variety of punches to make it faster and I really like the outcome.

Stampin' Up!, He's All That, Treat Bags, Elegant Edge Punch, Circle Punch, Copper Clay, Wild Wheat, Jackie Beers

Bag

Most of the work for this project is already done for you.  This bag is from the 2023-2025 In Color Treat Bags.  All of the new In Colors are represented in this package of bags.  There are 25 bags included, 5 of each New In Color, for the reasonable price of $10.00.

To create my bag, I used the Paper Trimmer to make a slit across the bottom to open the bottom of the bag.  I then cut up an inch from the bottom on each side.  The last touch was to score at 1/2″ on each side all the way down the bag.  By cutting and opening the bottom, I was able to create a flat bottom.

The ribbon is wrapped around the folded over top of the bag and secured in place with a glue dot.  It will slip over the fold to open.  The bow is made separately and also added with a couple of glue dots.  They are strong and my go to for bow adhering!

Tag

This tag may be a bit more elegant than you would think for a guy.  It has the filigree look at the top.  But that is mostly covered and doesn’t really show all that much.  I do love this new tag punch though!  It is the Elegant Edge Punch.  It will create a tag up to 2″ wide.  That is the width of this one.  And it is 3 1/2″ long.

The circles are made using the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch and the 2″ Circle Punch.  I am so thrilled that Circle Punches are available again!  Punches are so quick to grab when you need a simple layer.  The stamp is from the He’s All That stamp set.  I love the retro bus and it looks great in just one color.

Colors and Finishes

I chose to use the Copper Clay version of the Treat Bag, so made the tag in that color.  As well as the stamped image.  To add some contrast I turned to another of the New In Colors and went with Wild Wheat.  The ribbon is really nice with just a touch of a sheen to it.  And the circle layer fits perfectly.  The finishing touch for Bling is a bit different.  At least it is positioned differently.  I used two of the 2023-2025 In Color Dots in Wild Wheat to cover the wheels on the van.  That is a retro look that has returned.  But we must have bling!

Rise and Shine

The whimsical stamps are ones that I definitely gravitate towards.  Today’s card features one of those stamp sets.  Hey Chuck is a compliment to the retired Hey Chick stamp set.  And it is just as fun as the other.

Stampin' Up!, Hey Chuck, Basics Embossing folders, Nested Essentials, Jackie Beers

Stamp Bundle

The Hey Chuck stamp and die bundle is so fun!  There are three Chuck images in different forms of silliness.  And there are accessories to go along with him.  The Dies cover the all of the images with a few extras.  When I saw the Sun Die I knew which direction I was going in.  I really like the sun and how perfect it is with the Rise & Shine sentiment.  Poor Chuck looks like he is having a little difficulty getting his day started.  Coloring him with Stampin’ Blends lends such freedom of color choices.  And helps make color choices for the card.  The boxer shorts were the color ideas as well as the embossed layer.

Layers

The boxer shorts led to the color choices as well as the layout.  The polka dot of the shorts were the key to the Basics Embossing Folders pick of the Polka Dot Embossing Folder.  And even though the dots on the shorts are Berry Burst for the brighter color, they match fine with the Moody Mauve of the card stock that is embossed.

Next is the Misty Moonlight layers, which also come from the shorts.  The thin layer between the White card base and Moody Mauve layer needed to tie in and the Misty Moonlight does that.  To further carry the theme, I used that as the larger layer for the sentiment and for Hey Chuck.  The sentiment is simply cut to fit.  But the Chuck layers are cut using the Nested Essentials Dies.  These are stand alone dies in the Annual Catalog.  I think these are a must have for your tools.  The rounded edges are so different than other layering dies.

To add the sun rise behind the Chuck layer was a surprise or lightbulb moment.  I wanted to use it but could not figure out how.  Then I realized it fits perfectly back there.  And the Wild Wheat is a great color to tie in with the Chuck colors.

Double Flap Crafting

I have a fun fold card to share with you that I am calling the Double Flap card.  This is one that I have seen a few times but did not look at too closely.  I received a swap with the fun fold part so of course I had to make one.  The fun fold part is the same but everything else is totally different on my card.  I used the Crafting With You Bundle.

Stampin' Up!, Crafting With You, Stylish Shapes, Elegant Edge Punch, Masterfully Made, Deckled Rectangles, Jackie Beers

Stamps and Dies

The Crafting With You Bundle has some really special Dies included that do not match a stamp.  One example is the cutting board on the front of the card.  I think this is the best ever!!  It has the cutting bar that you can slide paper under.  How cool!!  Ok, so I started with my favorite piece first.  The stamp set is great, as is the dies,  and they have images for several different types of crafting.  I focused on the ones for paper crafting today.

The sentiment is so darn sweet!  I love the verbiage, but also the mix of fonts, and the fun way the words are placed.  As I mentioned above, I focused on the stamps that are showcasing paper crafting, or are generic like the sentiments.  Here are views of the open card.

This view showcases the Stampin’ Up! Cut and Emboss Machine.  I think that is extra special that it looks exactly like the machine!  And here is the final open view.

This generic sentiments works for a variety of crafting, but especially for paper crafting.  During Covid I sent quite a few cards out with the Handmade Hug on them.  I love that sentiment and am happy to have it back again.

Extra Shapes

There were two of the Crafting With You dies used.  The paper trimmer and the die cutting machine.  But did you notice the other shapes?  I have used the Stylish Shapes Dies for the layered circles of the top two folds.  And the inside sentiment layer is two dies from the Deckled Rectangles Dies.  Finally the front sentiment is punched on one side using the Elegant Edge Punch.  This is a new punch that I was so excited to use.  I love the fun look!

Papers

The basis of the card is the Masterfully Made Designer Series Paper.  I then chose colors that coordinated with this.  The card base is Basic White that is 4 1/4 X 5 1/2 to help the White sentiment and other layers to pop.  The lighter and larger of the circle and deckle layers is Pool Party.  It is not necessarily listed as a color included in the DSP, but it works as a lighter Lost Lagoon.  Because the DSP is a bit dark, I like having the lighter layer.  And it is paired with the smaller size circle in Lost Lagoon.

The layout is a piece of DSP that is 12 x 5 1/4, and scored at 2,4,6,and 8.  Fold and burnish on all the score lines and then view the card as to how to adhere them.  You make mountain folds and adhere the Up pieces together so that the DSP is adhered to itself and you end up with two “flaps” and then the inside back of the card.  (Reminder that this DSP is included in the 15% off DSP sale going on!!)

To finish the card, I went a little differently than cards I have seen when using circles as layers.  With the card closed, the inside back sentiment layer shows just a bit.  I did not like that.  So I created the front sentiment layer that when the card is closed lays so that it is covering that view.  And as the final touch, in place of some bling, I used a Berry Burst heart on the sentiment to pop against all of the greens.

Countryside Floral

Today’s card is a second version of Friday’s card.  It stars the Countryside Inn DSP and Timeless Arrangements Bundle.  This one was made as a swap card for a Stampin’ Up! 35th Anniversary Event I attended on Saturday in Aiken, South Carolina.  It was a fabulous event with lots of great card ideas.

Stampin' Up!, Timeless Arrangements, Countryside Inn, Country Blossom, Brushed Brass Butterfly, Jackie Beers

Stamps and Dies

As I said, this is another version of the card I shared on Friday.  I love using the same layout and changing the colors and papers.  This one stars the Timeless Arrangements Bundle.  The sentiment layer and the little floral pieces are from the bundle.  I love the details on the sentiment layer.  The die is part of the bundle and is in three sizes.  There are quite a few wonderful sentiments that fit on the various layer pieces.

The floral pieces are from the die as well.  Each of the colors I used are all attached at the bottom with a little bar.  So they are so easy to layer together.  My method is to place my bottom layer on the Silicone Craft Mat and add a strip of glue to the bar.  Then I layer the next color and design of floral on top with the bars piling on top of each other.  It makes it so simple to do and gives the finished floral some strength.  After gluing these florals to the card base I added the sentiment over top of the bars with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Papers

The paper star of the card is the Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper.  Blues are my go to color and this pack has that done beautifully.  I chose three different patterns to layer on top of the Night Of Navy layer.  That layer is embossed with the Country Blossom Embossing Folder.

All of the colors of paper came from the DSP pieces.   I used Boho Blue as the card base with a thin White layer to break up the blue and to reflect the sentiment layer.  Next is Night of Navy with the DSP on top.  After adding the 1 X 4 strips the focal layer of the floral came next.  They are done with Basic White, Misty Moonlight and Balmy Blue.

The finishing touch was a single Brushed Brass Butterfly.  That qualifies as Bling in my book.  And what better to pair with flowers.

Thank you for stopping in today!!  And remember this DSP is included in the Designer Series Paper sale listed below!

Botanical Strips

My card to share today is a CASE from fellow demonstrator, and friend, Paula Butler.  When we receive a pretty card it is perfectly fine to change a bit and make it your own.

Stampin' Up!, Inked Botanicals, Gorgeouslyu Made Dies, Happy Labels, Jackie Beers

Papers

It is really difficult to say what is the most important part of this card.  They are all great on their own!  But I will begin with the papers.  These are strips from three different sheets of the Inked Botanicals Designer Series Paper.  I know that I have used this quite a bit. And I will continue to use it!  There is not a bad sheet in this pack.  And it is currently 15% off!!  These strips are each 1 X 4.

The card base is Thick Basic White card stock.  I added the thin layer of Lost Lagoon as it is a color in all three of the DSP papers.  The gorgeous die cut piece is from the Gorgeously Made Dies.  I love that this piece has great detail and it is large enough to stand alone as I have used it.  This piece is from Crushed Curry card stock.

Stamps and Other Products

This is a pretty simple card but does include a variety of products.  However it could be made utilizing things that you already have.  Unless you are like me and want the new things you see!!!  To begin this section I will start with the embossed layer of White.  The embossing folder is one I really do love!  It is one of three that are in the Online Exclusives store.  They do not have names other than they are Basics Embossing Folders. The detail on this one is fabulous.

The next extra is the sentiment layer.  The sentiment itself is from the Happy Labels stamp set.  And it fit perfectly on the rough cut Die cut from the Gorgeously Made Dies.  This is the same Die set as the floral piece.  I like the jagged edges.  With the fairly busy prints of the DSP, I did not need a lot of finishing touches.  But again, there must be bling!  So there is one small Gold Glossy Dot added next to the sentiment.

Pizza Supreme

For today’s card I have cased the catalog.  The Annual Catalog years ago had the additional name of Idea Book and Catalog.  When I am in need of inspiration for cards that is where I look.  Today I went to the Supremely Awesome stamp set.

Stampin' Up, Supremely Awesome, Rhinestones, Poppy Parade, Jackie Beers

Stamp Set

The fun Supremely Awesome stamp set is for anyone who likes Pizza.  And for those of us who like the more silly cards.  I have several friends that this card fits perfectly!  All of the images on the card are from the one stamp set.  You know how much I love those type sets!

The stamping is all done using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.  And the coloring is all Stampin’ Blends.  You can always make your clothing and pizza any colors you wish.  It did not bother me at all that the checkerboard strip is not darkly stamped.  For me that shows a little wear and tear like an old pizza parlor would have.  The sentiment is one long sentiment that I cut into pieces to “hang on the wall” . And I stamped an extra pizza for some depth.  It is fussy cut and then layered over top of the other with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Colors and Extras

There had to be some red in a pizza card.  So my middle layer is Poppy Parade.  It made a great pepperoni color as well.  The Misty Moonlight went along with the cook’s pants.  And I colored the pizza to look like a pepperoni pizza.  Although the crust is a tad on the light side.

To be a little different, I placed my layers all flush at the bottom and right side of the card base.  I wanted the checkerboard strip to show and this seemed the best way.  Plus the sentiment “hanging on the wall” needed a place that it was not against the white so it showed at it’s best.  The hangers I used are Rhinestones that are colored with the Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blend the same as the pepperoni.  I hope you remember that you can color the rhinestones and pearls with your blends!
