Sending Love

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! I hope you have shared at least one of your hand made card filled with love. I think all of our hand made cards are filled with love personally. But today is a special one. I looked for a set that maybe would not scream Valentine’s Day. And I believe I found it for today’s card.

Stampin' Up!, sending love, toadstool garden, shimmer gems, granny apple green, highland heather, jackie beers

STAMPS

The stamp set I found to spread love is the Sending Love stamp set. I only used the stamps with no Dies. And all of the stamps used are from this one set. The mail box is the main aspect and is not exactly colored traditionally! All of the coloring is done using Stampin’ Blends. I used Smoky Slate for the post but topped it with Highland Heather. And added Granny Apple Green for the mail box itself. I know this would not fly in most communities, but it can work in this card’s world.

To add the sentiment was a question for me. I knew I would have to cut it as this is one long sentiment. It really would not look proper being larger than the focal panel. There was this scrap of Peach Pie on my desk and the answer presented itself. I stamped on the Peach Pie and then simply cut the sentiment in half. This brought out yet another color of the DSP in a fun way. Plus pairs perfectly with the mail box theme.

PAPERS

These sheets of DSP are both from the Toadstool Garden Designer Series Paper. This is a Free 6X6 paper pack in Sale-A-Bration. With a qualifying order this is one of the products you can choose. SAB goes through the end of the month so you still have time to get some of the freebies!

I pulled all of the colors from the toadstool sheet of DSP. The Peach Pie was a surprise addition but I love how it helps those mushrooms to pop. The card base is Granny Apple Green. That striped sheet is a mix of Fresh Freesia and Highland Heather. Those are the colors I tried to add in to the mailbox panel.

EXTRAS

The trio of shimmer gems are all from the 2024-2026 In Color Shimmer Gems. I used different shades of the pink/purple and then a Peach Pie one as well. This is a more whimsical card where it does not require elegant bling!

LAYERS

The card base measures 4 1/4 X 11 and is scored at 5 1/2. The two DSP strips are 2 1/2 X 5 1/8 for the left side and 2 X 5 for the right side. For the focal layer there is a thin layer of Granny Apple that measures 2 3/4 X 4 3/8 with the Basic White layer being 2 3/8 X 4 1/4.

I Adore You

I have mixed two of the heart stamp sets that are current with Stampin’ Up!. The Adoring Hearts stamp set and the Hearts of Elegance Dies. Add some gorgeous DSP and you have a lovely card.

Stampin' Up!, adoring hearts, hearts of elegance, marbled elegance, gold twisted twine, regal foiled dots, pretty in pink, jackie beers

STAMPS

The focal heart is made from the two products mentioned at the beginning. The sweet sentiment and the flowers are from the Adoring Hearts stamp set. I had the idea of the paper and heart but what to be the focal part was a problem. As soon as I looked through the stamps in the stamp set I found exactly what would fit.

These are stamped after the heart is cut. That makes placement very easy. The flowers are stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored using Old Olive and Pretty In Pink Stampin’ Blends.

DIES

The heart die cut is from the Hearts of Elegance Die set. Is it a part of the bundle with the DSP and the Gold Twine. There are two large hearts, a solid and an outline. Then there are a series of layering dies. This is the second largest of those.

PAPERS

To help the marbled sheet of DSP stand out I used a second sheet from the pack. These are both from t he Marbled Elegance Designer Series Paper. I was not sure in the beginning how well they would work together. After layering the White I was sure I had chosen correctly to help everything stand out.

The card base is Pretty In Pink which is the lightest color in the marbled DSP. The layers measure 4 X 5 1/4, 3 7/8 X 5 1/8, then 2 3/4 X 4 and 2 5/8 X 3 7/8. The heart was from a scrap of Basic White.

EXTRAS

There are two extras to complete this card. I wanted to carry on with the gold. So I chose the Gold Twisted Twine. It is wrapped around the marbled layer three times. I then added a triple strand bow to the front. I tucked the heart behind the twine thinking it looked better that way.

The bling is a subtle one. I went with a single bling for a change. This is the Regal Foiled Adhesive Dots. There are four colors and I chose the pinkish one. (That is a technical term:)

Sweet Anniversary

Today’s card is a quick and easy Anniversary card.  Although if you change the sentiment it could be a variety of occasions.  The Sweetly Scripted set is the star of the card.

Stampin' Up!, sweetly scripted, natures sweetness, sequins, wild wheat, jackie beers

Stamp Set

The Sweetly Scripted stamp set is a definite keeper in my book.  This versatile set is only sentiments.  And they are all like the Happy Anniversary above.  They are all long and beautifully scripted.  The set contains the most common sentiments plus I was thrilled for the beautiful Anniversary one.  Sometimes that can be difficult to find.

Papers

This gold and white DSP is from the Natures Sweetness Designer Series Paper.  My friend loves plants.  So this paper seemed so appropriate for her.  I paired the shiny paper with the Wild Wheat for the card base.  It does appear to have gold when placed with the other paper.  And to give the stamping space, I used a layer of Basic White.

The Basic White is cut 5 1/4 X 4.  And the DSP is cut 5 X 3 3/4.  I then decided how much space I needed to stamp and “guesstimated” the amount to cut out of the center.  The start was to cut the piece in half diagonally.  And then trim x amount off eat side.  I apologize for not getting that measurement.

Finishes

To add just a touch of bling I looked for an embellishment to match the gold.  I found it with the Adhesive Backed Neutrals Sequins.  There are two different sizes of a few different neutral shades.  I chose the gold and placed a large at each end of the sentiment.  Then added a scattering of the smaller ones.  Gold bling may be the best bling!

Simply Fresh Air

Today is the final day of Sale-A-Bration for 2024!  If you still have items on your wish list, it is officially almost the last minute. 🙂

The card I have to share is a mix of SAB items.  It pairs the Simply Sophisticated Embossing Folder with the Flight & Airy Designer Series Paper for a sweet Anniversary card.

Stampin' Up!, Softly Sophisticated, Flight and airy, Love For You, Jackie Beers

Papers

The papers used are definitely the stars of this card.  Both the background and the birds are from the Flight & Airy Designer Series Paper from SAB.  I love the Bubble Bath background with the variegated look.  And the beautiful birds are fussy cut from one of the sheets.  It really only took a minute and is well worth the time!  There are several Stampin’ Dimensionals behind the bird scene to give it some definition off of the background.

The card base is also Bubble Bath to match the paper.  To further tie everything together I love adding a thin Basic White layer to differentiate between the card stock and DSP.  It has the added benefit of helping the simple sentiment layer to pop.

Stamp

The single stamp is unusual for me.  But when the DSP is so beautiful it really does not need much more.  Since this is an Anniversary card, I found this small and simple stamp in the Love For You stamp set.  This set is in the Annual Catalog and has a variety of small size sayings that would turn this card in to whatever you needed.

Finishes

The embossed background is one of my favorite parts of this card.  The Simply Sophisticated Bundle is a stamp set and Embossing Folder pairing in Sale-A-Bration.   I really love this embossed image!  It turns pretty paper into extraordinary paper.

To give some additional texture to the card I layered Linen Thread underneath the birds.  It adds some organic look to the tree branch.  And the final touch is bling!  For this I chose the Festive Pearls that carried over from the Holiday Mini Catalog.  These are a few different colors. One of the colors looks to be a light blue, or takes that color easily.  So I went a little heavy handed and gave more than my normal three.  And that is perfectly fine to do.

Thank you for stopping in today!! I hope this inspires you to try out different uses for your DSP as well as maybe clear out your Wish List!

Golden Anniversary

Today’s card is a special one made for one of my long time Stamp Club ladies.  My first ever 50th Anniversary card.  I hope she liked it!

Stampin' Up!, Hello Irresistible, Wanted To Say, Crushed Curry, More Dazzle, Jackie Beers

Card Front

This card is a bit different in that it really doesn’t have stamping on the front.  It is a Fun Fold and I used four different pieces of the Hello Irresistible Designer Series paper.  They all are very similar and work wonderfully together.  The card base is Crushed Curry with a Basic White layer.  I did not want it to be too pinkish since it is for her husband as well!  The pink came from the hearts.  They are from the Wanted To Say Dies.

The “50” is made using the More Dazzle Specialty paper.  It comes in gold and Champagne colors.  The dies used are retired however.  They are the Large Numbers.  I rarely use numbers but have held on to this set for just such an occasion.

Open Card

Here is a view of the inside of the card.  You can see the fourth piece of the DSP on the center fold.  It is only seen when the card is open.

The inside is quite a bit simpler than the front.  I did use the Soft Sea Foam ink to add a leaf to the inside sentiment layer as well as some speckles.  And the sentiment is from the Ringed With Nature stamp set.  There are not a lot of Happy Anniversary in my collection apparently!

Fun Fold

  • The card base is Crushed Curry cut 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 and scored at 2 1/8 and 4 1/4.
  • The White layers are 2 cut 1 7/8 X 5 1/4 and one 4 X 5 1/4.
  • The DSP is 2 cut 1 3/4 X 5 1/8  and 1 cut 3 7/8 X 5 1/8.
  • Crushed Curry folded layer is 5 1/2 X 2 1/2 scored and folded at 2 3/4.
  • 2 White layers cut 2 5/8 X 2 5/8 (one for inside)
  • 1 DSP cut (front focal layer) 2 1/2 X 2 1/2

Love You!

Today’s card is a sweet Love You! card for anyone.  It is pairing old and new products for the Make My Monday Challenge.

Stampin' Up!, Count On Me, Country Bouquet, Dainty Flowers, Heart Punch Pack, Three Twine Combo, Jackie Beers

As I mentioned at the top of the page, this is my card as a designer on the Make My Monday Blog Challenge with the theme of Love Is In The Air.   Please click on the image below to be taken to the blog.  You will see the other designers’ cards and can upload your own version of the theme.

New Products

I said this card is a combination of old and new products.  I am going to begin with the New ones.  The DSP is from the Dainty Flowers Designer Series Paper , which is a Sale-A-Bration item.  That means it is FREE with a qualifying order of $50.00.

The second new is the I Love You stamp.  This special little stamp is part of the Country Bouquet stamp set.  It is a Valentine and Love type set with a country theme.  And I do Love it!

The third and final New item is the Thread.  To add some extra detail at the top of the card, I went with the Garden Green Bakers Twine from the Three Twine Combo Pack.  Even though my card stock is not Garden Green, the shading works perfectly.

Loved Products

I don’t want to be rude and call this group of products OLD, so I am using the well loved description!  The Koala Bears are from the Count On Me stamp set in the Annual Catalog.  It is a variety of animals with lovely expressions and signs of affection.  These two hugging seemed perfect for the Love theme.

The next two items are the heart layers for the Koala Bears.  They are the Heart Punch Pack duo.  These are such a perfect size for so many images in the catalogs.  I used Mossy Meadow for the large scalloped heart so it would contrast more against the DSP.

And the final of the Loved products is the little bit of bling.  This is one of the 2021-2023 Opal Dots.  It shows a bit darker in person.  I wanted a little something to pair with the yellow flowers of the paper.  Everything else is on the deeper tones of color.

Thank you for stopping in today!
