Today’s card is the third in my string of using the same Fun Fold layout to create very different cards. This one may be the winner. I believe it is really pretty and unexpected in the use of the focal layers. Please let me know what you think.

Fun Fold

The card base for this pretty card is the same Fun Fold layout I have used the last two days. The base measures 5 1/2 X 7 1/4 and is scored at 4 1/4. The layers measure 5 1/4 X 4 that is then cut down to 5 1/4 X 2 3/4 for the top section and the leftover of 5 1/4 X 1 1/4 for the bottom section. The DSP is cut similarly to the layer. I cut a piece measuring 5 1/8 X 3 7/8 then cut it down to 5 1/8 X 2 5/8 and 5 1/8 X 1 1/8. There may be more pieces for today as apposed to the previous two versions of this fun fold, but I think it was worth it for the results.

Papers

The card base for this card is Cloud Cover. I have not used this color in quite a while and it is long overdue! I do love how the softness plays with the background of this DSP. And speaking of DSP…..The Valley In Bloom Designer Series Paper is so gorgeous. This paper could be the star of the show without even adding the focal layer. I did use a layer to highlight the DSP from the Cloud Cover. It was between Lemon Lime Twist and Granny Apple Green. Lemon Lime Twist was the winner for the layers and the sentiment layer. But Granny Apple Green came in for the leaves of the focal layer.

Stamp Bundle

The wonderful Lily of the Valley products are part of a Suite. I used half of the Suite today to create this one. The Bundle is called Lily of The Valley. The leaves, flowers, sentiment and the inside floral are all from the Bundle. The matching Dies for the flowers and leaves are wonderful. I really like the detail to the leaves.

The flowers and sentiments were all stamped using Basic Gray Ink. I love the softer look than the deep Black. Plus I believe it looks better with coloring. I added touches of color the the stems with Granny Apple Green Light Stampin’ Blend, and then to the flowers with the new Barely Blush Shimmer Brush. The added sparkle is subtle but there when you see it in person.

To create the focal layer I layed out the flower and leaves and then only attached them to the top layer of the card. Actually they are only attached towards the lower part of the top section. I like when there is a little movement to flowers by not adhering them at the tops. The leaves were done the same way. To add the sentiment layer, I cut two pieces of the background and sandwiched the stems from flowers and leaves between. An easy way to hide the backside of those pieces when the card is open.

Extras

There is an Extra of a Die. To create the sentiment layer I found the perfect size Die in the Fern & Flora Dies. Then I cut down the sentiment to fit inside of the layer. For some Bling I went with the embellishments from the Suite. They are the Shimmering Dots. These are in green, white and a blue green color. I opted for a single green on the sentiment layer and then two of the white ones around the flowers.
