The Designer Series Paper Sale is winding down. Saturday is the final day to get 15% off select papers. And today’s card is all about the DSP. The Wildly Flowering is one of my favorites. If you like beautiful floral, then it may be your favorite as well.
Papers
The paper is definitely the star of this card. The Wildly Flowering Designer Series Paper truly is the favorite of the Annual Catalog. The larger bold flowers are simply gorgeous. And to match those are the smaller, tone on tone, flowers on some reverse sides. I used both the large and small on this card. Actually the card is mostly showcasing the DSP. This DSP is included in the Sale!!
The card base is Wild Wheat that is pulled from the focal layer. Because all of the colors are fairly dark, I added a thin Basic White layer to help them separate from each other. The next layer is one of the reverse side prints in Moody Mauve. This was also pulled from that focal sheet. Then another Basic White thin layer to highlight the focal layer.
Stamp Bundle
The matching Wild Flowers Designs Bundle is a match to the DSP. It has small flowers to use for insides as well as on sentiment layers. I only used one of the sentiments on this one. The beautiful font on this Thanks makes it a great one to be all alone. Although the banner helps it to stand out.
This banner for the Thanks is from the matching Die set. And actually I have folded it in half. It is plenty large enough to be a great sentiment layer. But I only needed room for the Thanks. And I loved the way it looks at the top where it only adds to the card as opposed to taking away from the DSP.
Finishes
To add even more dimension to the sentiment layer, I added all of my finishes there. The stitching of the banner is a great touch. But it needed something else. There is no ribbon in out collection in Moody Mauve. However there is the 2023-2025 In Color Jute Trim in each of those colors. But it is quite thick. As I have seen Shelly do at OnStage many times, I decided to separate the strands. By copying her fun style, I ended up with just the right size of Moody Mauve ribbon. It did take a little bit and I needed an extra hand to get the strand separated!! LOL!! But I love the outcome.
The final touch is bling. This card did not require a lot and I don’t know that very many embellishments would have worked on that busy print. So I went with a single Purple Shimmer Gem. These are multiple shades of purple. And the darkest one worked perfectly as a compliment to the Moody Mauve.
