I love fun cards! And this Turtle-y Awesome stamp bundle, matching DSP, etc. is just Totally Fun! When it was first shown last year at the Stampin’ Up! OnStage Event, I thought it was just for children. But the more it was shown I was in love. It made me Smile! And that is what I hope my card making does for you as it does for me. So I have brought it forward once again.
Isn’t it Smile worthy???
Turtle-y Awesome
All of the stamped images are from the Turtle-y Awesome stamp set. There are matching Dies, but I did not need them for this project. I stamped the sentiment and the little cake and fussy cut them. Actually I believe there is a Die for the cake, but it was quick to fussy cut as I was going along.
The cake is colored using Stampin’ Blends. The candles are the Darling Duckling of the paper, and the decoration is Flirty Flamingo. There was not a lot of decoration needed as the DSP is quite busy with the partying turtles running around.
Turtle-y CuteDesigner Series Paper
The name of the DSP fits perfectly. It is so Turtle-y Cute! All of the pages have turtles in an activity on one side and then fun, but more neutral, designs on the reverse. Since this is a birthday card I opted for the turtles partying with ice cream, cake, and balloons.
Extras
There are a couple of additions to the card for added depth and of course bling. The bow is made using Darling Duckling Faux Linen Ribbon. It is a thin ribbon and worked underneath the sentiment. The trick is to not pull very tight on the knot. That way it lays flatter. Of course there must be bling! There are a trio of the Shades of Green Hexagon embellishments. These are also part of the turtle suite of products. I use them often as there are not very many “greens” in the embellishments section.
Measurements
The card base is Darling Duckling cardstock cut to 4 1/4 X 11. (If you have followed me for any time at all then you know I love the top fold cards. They stand up so well for display.) I added a layer of Garden Green behind the DSP that measures 3 5/8 X 4 7/8. Next is the DSP which is 3 1/2 X 4 3/4. Finally I add a strip of a different sheet from the DSP pack measuring 3 5/8 X 3/4. This is to ground all of the decorations.

Today I have used most of the products included in the Nature Walk Suite Collection. When I first saw this suite I liked it but not overly excited. After playing with it, Oh My!, I love it. The paper is beautiful with rich colors and the Stamps and Dies are fabulous. Details in the leaves of the large leaf die add so much to the project. I hope you will love it as much as I do.
Nature’s Symphony Bundle
The Bundle is a good one for a variety of reasons in my opinion. The sentiments are good ones that make me smile. And the images are great for anyone. You can see I used several of the Die shapes. That large leaf shows so much detail and helps it come to life. As does the “wood” piece. Finally I added the Faux Bronze Pentagon to the sentiment layer. The sentiment Die is from the Nested Labels Die set.
Nature Walk Designer Series Paper
This fabulous DSP is a mix of greens and tans. To get my squares, or almost squares, I cut a piece to 3 3/4 X 5, then cut it in half vertically at 2 1/2, held the pieces together and turned it on my paper trimmer to then cut again on the short side at 1 7/8. I kept my pieces in order so I could rebuild the pattern correctly. Even though this is non directional paper, I wanted it to flow like it did as the one piece.
For a rare time I have opted to not have a background to this square pattern. I opted to simply adhere it to the card base. Being brave and going outside our comfort zones can be difficult! After adhering the paper I then added all of the die cut pieces. I did add a twine bow just behind the sentiment. It is Shaded Spruce I believe and is a retired twine. Linen Thread would have worked just as well but I was using up some old twine.

Today is my first actual stamping post in six months! I am horrified that it has taken me this long to get back after the ordeal of moving. Actually the move didn’t happen until December, it was everything leading up to it.
Thankfully I have my very own, with a door, stamping room! I am thrilled. Although it is a mess and still needs a ton of organization done, I can actually stamp. I have a Happy Place now. (A friend even gave me a sign that says “Jackie’s Happy Place”! How fun is that!
Pop Up Petals Bookmark
To begin posting in this new year, I went with a quick and easy project. These bookmarks are so fun to make and can be made using any of your favorite stamps.
This bookmark was made using only the Pop Up Petals stamp set. The vase and sentiment are stamping using Pretty Peacock Ink. And the flowers are stamped using Crumb Cake Ink. All of the coloring is with Stampin’ Blends: Darling Duckling, Old Olive, and Timid Tiger. I will add that because of the Stampin’ Blends bleeding through the back of the cardstock, I added a second piece of Basic White so that does not show. It also allows you to write a short message if you like.
The Bookmark
The bookmark itself is purchased from Amazon. These are Photo Booth Nook Bookmark Sleeves. They are reasonable priced and come in a variety of quantities. I opted for the smallest, which is 50. The Basic White is cut to 1 15/16 X 6 and easily slides into the sleeve.

I would never have dreamed this move would have taken all of the twists and turns that it has. There were gremlins, and not the nice kind, at every turn. But we are finally living in the new house. The move is not complete as there are still a few things at the old house. Those are dwindling day by day however.

I have been on a “simple” card routine of late. Today is not really any different. I am showcasing a single flower paired with a sentiment to make you smile.
STAMPS& DIES
The focal flower today is from the Pretty Florals Bundle. I have stamped and Die cut the images previously, but not used the definition Die cuts. That is what I did today. I really love the detail on the cardstock flower. And adding the darker highlight really ups the beauty. And the matching detail in the leaves is just icing on the cake, or flower! I am so happy that I gave this set another look and studied it a little for all the possibilities. And there are more than what I have done today.
EXTRA DIES
To create the background for the flower as well as the sentiment layer, I turned to the Stylish Shapes Die set. This set is such a Go To for me. I love the layering Dies, and there always seems to be one that fits! The circle for the flower is the largest of the Circle Dies. And the banner for the sentiment is also the largest of that shape.
EXTRA STAMPS
This super sweet sentiment is a favorite of mine. For me, my cardmaking is to make me and others happy. So to get a smile from someone over a card I have made is my big reward. Naturally this sentiment would speak to me. And it is so nice to let those who do make us happy know about it. This wonderful sentiment is from the Sweet Blooms stamp set.
PAPERS
The floral DSP is what started the color choices for this card. And it is actually a back side of a large print. You know how I love using the reverse sides! This is from the Florals In Bloom Designer Series Paper. I pulled Petunia Pop from the DSP as well as the Bubble Bath. The green is Granny Apple Green and after using it for the leaves decided it was perfect as the card base color.
EXTRAS
To complete the card I only needed some bling. I chose to use the Flower Accents. There are a couple of different sizes of these. I went with the smallest and placed one at the flower center and the others on the sentiment layer. The mission was completed.

For a quick and easy card the Beautiful Gallery Designer Series Paper is a perfect fit. I have used one of the pages full of roses for today’s card. A little bit can be all you need for a wonderful card.
STAMPS
This beautifully scripted “birthday wishes” is a perfect match for this simple card. When there is a large image on the paper, or stamped, it only requires a suitably sized sentiment to complete it. This ones is from the Simply Said stamp set. It is an all sentiments set that has a little bit of everything included in it. I love having these type sets on hand. You can see all of the sentiments in the supply list image of the set.
EMBOSSING
The very detailed background I have used was made with the Plaster Painting 3D Embossing Folder. This is a giant size folder. It could be used with scrapbooking as well as card making. I used a half sheet of cardstock and only had to trim a 1/8″ piece from the end that was not embossed. By using a half sheet, you have enough for two card fronts like I have, or multiple strips. I really love the rough detail this adds for the background.
PAPERS
There are several details to this card, but I believe these roses are the stars. As I said at the introduction, these are from the Beautiful Gallery Designer Series Paper. Best of all, it only takes a strip to create a card as I have. I know flowers do not grow blue in nature, but I have always loved blue flowers. These are not really blue, just have shades of maybe the Cloud Cover. I still think they are beautiful.
To add to the blues of the card, I used Misty Moonlight for the card base and the rose layer. Then after having the roses against the Misty Moonlight, I really saw the Cloud Cover shades. So that is what was used for the embossed layer.
EXTRAS
There are three Extras today. First is the Nested Essentials Dies for the sentiment layer. These are such a versatile Die set with the rounded rectangle, a banner, and the Tie shape. All have several layers with each. For the second Extra, I added a single Rhinestone gem to the sentiment. And the final Extra is the Cloud Cover Ribbon. Just a strip around the roses and tied in a knot was all it needed to finish.

We have been having day and evening thunderstorms for a week now. I am very much over it! So when going through my stamps and checking on Last Chance Items to pull, I ran across the Playing In The Rain bundle. How very appropriate it is to use for today. Plus there are several items used on the Last Chance List at fabulous prices. The stamp and Dies are two of those.
STAMPS & DIES
This little fox guy looks as happy as I am about all of the rain. The other characters in the Playing In The Rain Bundle were very happy, so I decided on the fox. I know his coloring is not proper, but I am really not sure how a fox is supposed to look! And he is my little fox, so I can color him how I want. He is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then colored using Stampin’ Blends. I used Cajun Craze and Crumb Cake for his coloring and Balmy Blue for the accessories. This Bundle is no longer a bundle, but is available individually in the Last Chance List. And they are a great price!
The fox and the puddles are die cut using the matching Playing In The Rain Die set. There are puddles that can be stamped, but I went the easy route with simply cutting them from the Balmy Blue cardstock. To complete the card front, I needed a place to put a simple sentiment. The one I chose is this simple one from the Wonderful Thoughts Stamp Set. I chose not to use the matching Die for this one as it is really tiny. Then I would need another background for it. So I went to the Nested Essentials Dies and simply cut two of the banners. These are the two smallest ones. And a quick answer to the sentiment placement.
EXTRA DIE SET
There is an extra Die set that does not show well in the photo. I used the Textures Notes Die set to cut the two DSP layers. If you look closely you can see the edging around both pieces. These two Dies are the second and fourth largest ones. I love the extra little detail they give. The detail is much more obvious in person I promise.
PAPERS
The two gorgeous DSP pieces are from the Turtle-y Cute Designer Series Paper. I will be playing with this fun Suite of products soon. But I have begun by showcasing this great paper. All of the other colors were pulled from the polka dot sheet.
To choose a main color was difficult. I ended up deciding on Balmy Blue for the card base and the color of the fox’s accessories. This is also the larger of the banners for the sentiment layers. And of course the “puddles” had to be blue as well.
EXTRAS
There are a couple of Extras. First is the bow behind the sentiment. This is baker’s twine from the Baker’s Twine Three Color Pack. It is on the Last Chance List for less than $5.00! That is a deal to be had. A simple bow helped the sentiment layer to stand out a bit. For bling I chose a variety of colors from the Muted Palette Dots. These are new in the Annual Catalog. There are four colors in different sizes. I chose to use three of the four colors as they matched perfectly with the colors on the card. They are not shiny bling, but fun bling!

I have been thinking about houses of late and having trouble with ideas for cards. So I simply went with the house as my theme. The Humble Home Bundle was perfect. I am so sad that it is on the Last Chance List though.
STAMPS & PUNCH BUNDLE
The Humble Home Bundle is one I love. It was one of the Christmas cards I sent out using the gingerbread looking house. But today I have used a brick house that you can build. I kept my house pretty simple. Except that it is a Blueberry Blue brick house. Painted brick is a thing now so I went with it. Having the punch for the house makes this set so easy to use.
EXTRA DIE SET & EXTRA STAMP SET
This card has Extra stamps and an Extra Die set for a sort of simple card. The tag and key are from the Tags To Go Die set. I love the large key tag like you used to get at hotels. They are bulky but much easier to find than the key card sometimes! And the key just seemed so appropriate as a companion. (I actually used the cut out key hole for the door knob on the house!) LOL!
The background design on the card is a stamp set that has taken me a while to warm up to. It is the Painted Stripes. It is a background stamp. I usually shy away from these. But I have seen some really cute cards made with it. It is a nice alternative to some DSP here.
PAPERS
The papers today are only a few and fairly simple ones. The card base is Blueberry Bushel to match my blue brick house. And the slim layer is Daffodil Delight. It matches the door and lighted windows of the house. But the special paper is the Textured Metallic Specialty Designer Series Paper for the key. I chose the copper piece for a stand out look.
EXTRAS
There is only one Extra today. Although the copper key is a stand out! I used the yellow from the Baker’s Twine Three Color Pack. It is another item on the Last Chance List, and is a great deal for under $5.00. The simple bow was all the extra the card needed I believe.
