From Me

The first thing I want to say is to CHECK OUT THE CLEARANCE RACK!  It has been updated again with some great discounts.

Today’s card is a Festive & Fun one.  That is the set used and a favorite with the adorable animals.  This one is To You From Me!

Stampin' Up!, Festive Fun, Merriest Trees Dies, Joy of Christmas, Blooming Pearls, Jackie Beers

Stamps

The Festive & Fun stamp set is one I have used a few times.  The animals in this set are precious.  And you know I love the cute animal images.  This one I call Mr. Moose.  There was a large moose several years ago that I adored.  This one is a much smaller version but just as cute.  And him serving cake is so sweet.

The sentiment is from the stamp set also.  There is more to it than what is shown. I cut off the first part to make it fit better and it did not alter the sound of the sentiment.

Note:   I have been embossing recently and am loving it.  Previously I would never get a good image.  Well……my Versamark Ink was really old and did not improve with re-inking.  So I bought a new one.  And it is a world of difference.  The pads last a long time, but this was one I bought maybe 20 years ago.  Sometimes it is not me and actually is a problem with the tool.  Now I am loving embossing again.  The bolder and brighter sentiment is always a good thing.

Papers

The fun plaid papers are from the Joy of Christmas Designer series Paper.  I love plaid and being able to pair both the Shaded Spruce and Real Red plaid together was a good thing.  Sadly this DSP is sold out.  I apologize, but if you have it then you are good to go.  And if not then there are tons of other papers that will work just as well. And I know everyone is not a fan of plaid.

The card base is Shaded Spruce and I added a Real Red tag behind the Shaded Spruce Plaid tag.  To help the colors separate and to compliment Mr. Moose, I added a layer of Wild Wheat.  This is such a versatile color in my opinion.

Finishes

The layers for this card are normal layers so I added the circle for Mr. Moose.  He is cut using the 2 3/8″ Circle Punch.  It is a tiny bit smaller than him.  But the bottom is covered by the sentiment anyway.  My favorite parts are the tags!  I love this tag.  It is a perfect size for gift tags or layers like this.  The Merriest Trees Dies is where it is from.  And I have said it before, but I am so thrilled that this bundle is carrying over.  I love those trees, but the tag is my favorite.

The sentiment I mentioned earlier.  It is simply fussy cut and raised with Stampin’ Dimensionals over the bottom of the circle.  Since I cut off the first couple of words it was simpler to just cut a rectangle and leave it at that.  The embossing makes it pop.

The final touch is the bling!  These are the Blooming Pearls embellishments.  There are a variety of colors but I chose the greenish ones.  They are scattered on the tag and a third one on the sentiment.

Thank you for visiting today!!!

Vellum Birthday

Today’s card showcases the Translucent Florals Bundle.  This bundle is really fabulous and I am thrilled to say that it is carrying over!

Stampin' Up!, Translucent Florals, Sending Smiles, Hello Irresistible, Vellum, Lost Lagoon, Jackie Beers

Bundle

The Translucent Florals Bundle is really beautiful images with well scripted common sentiments. It is going to carrying over , however the bundled price will not carry over.  So if this is on your Wish List, it is 10% less now as a bundle.

To create this card, I stamped the two flowers and the large leaves image using Soft Sea Foam Ink.  And it is stamped on Vellum card stock.  Sadly, this is not really clear in the photo.  At least it does not stand out well.  In person, it is much more apparent.  But I still love the look this created.  And I failed to mention that it is a Fun Fold. 🙂

Sentiment

There is not a front sentiment on this card which I have done a couple of times recently.  This is really shocking and I did not even realize it. LOL!!!  However the inside sentiment is from the Sending Smiles stamp set.  It’s simplicity goes well with the card.

Papers

The card base is Lost Lagoon with layers of different pages of the Hello Irresistible Designer Series Paper.  I still love this paper and the patterns and shading it has.  Here is the open view of the card.

The Fun Fold opens to show the three different patterns of the DSP.  And the simple sentiment.  The Basic White layer is a full 4 X 5 1/4 and I simply added the far right DSP piece flush with the top, bottom , and right side.  You can see the Vellum card stock a little better from the open view.  I will caution you to be careful when stamping on Vellum.  It is slick, so carefully stamp and hold the block steady.  And it does not dry quickly at all!  I let it sit for a few minutes and still used my Heat Tool to make sure it was dry before I did the die cutting.  Better safe than sorry!

Finishes

The vellum pieces are attached to the edge of the front fold with Glue Dots strategically placed.  Vellum is a bit difficult to adhere since you can see through it.  I was careful to hide the glue dot behind the next layer as I added the images.  And for the flowers, I added the Glue Dot to the center.  Then I finished with a trio of the smallest Blooming Pearls for the flower centers.

Measurements

  • card base of Lost Lagoon is 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 and scored at 2 1/8 and 4 1/4. Fold and burnish to create the folds.
  • DSP layers are all three cut to 2 X 5 1/4
  • Inside Basic White is 4 X 5 1/4 with the DSP adhered over the right half.  * You could cut the Basic White to fit without the DSP over top.

Beary Gift Card

The Beary Christmas DSP is such beautiful paper that it is the star of today’s card.  I have made one of my favorite things, a gift card holder to share with you.

Stampin' Up!, Beary Christmas, Beary Cute, Deckled Rectangles, Jackie Beers

Papers

The star of this card is for sure the paper.  I used the Beary Christmas Designer Series Paper.  The softer colors and all of the animal print in this larger piece make me feel all warm and cozy.  Although the prints are in snow and that is not warm and cozy.  But making Christmas cards definitely is.  And this one is a gift card holder.

To create this card I used two different pieces from the Beary Christmas DSP pack.  This snow scene was cut to continue to the inside.  Here is an open view.

The gift shares both the left and right side of the open view.  Just a bit of fun there.  And the little Christmas tree is cut from the same piece that the focal point on the front is from.  I fussy cut the tree but it was really quick.

Dies

The two Deckled Rectangles Dies used on the front of the card are a different take on a “spotlight”.  At least that is what I am calling it.  I loved the little scene with the two bears and wanted a way to showcase them and their gifts.  The two sizes of the Dies worked perfectly and fit on the front well.  It is hard to believe that there is not stamping on the front of my card again today!

Stamp set

The only stamping on the entire card is the inside sentiment.  It is from the Beary Cute stamp set.  I love the cursive and simple Merry Christmas.  My first plan had been for it to be on the front of the card.  So I embossed it in White with that in mind.  After building the front panel I realized that there was not a good spot to place a sentiment.  So I fussy cut it a little bit and then added it to the inside.  The Night of Navy with White embossing really pops as the sentiment and plays with the Night of Navy card base.

Measurements

  • card base of Night of Navy is 11 X 4 1/4 and scored at 1 1/2 and 5 1/2.
  • The front layers are Very Vanilla cut to 3 3/4 X 4 and DSP cut to 3 5/8 X 3 7/8
  • The gift card slot is covered with Very Vanilla at 1 1/4 X 4 and DSP at 1 1/8 X 3 7/8
  • The inside has a Very Vanilla that is 5 1/4 X 4
  • The right side DSP is evenly spaced on the end of large Very Vanilla and is 1 1/8 X 3 7/8.

Merry Trees

Today is a two for one card share.  The Merriest Trees Dies make a quick and easy card, or two!

Stampin' Up!, Merriest Trees Dies, Merry Bold & Bright, Glitter Sequins, Lemon Lime Twist, Jackie Beers

This is such an easy card, that I made two.  One is the opposite of the other with the papers.

Both trees together

Dies

The Merriest Trees Dies make this card super easy.  With using DSP as the card layer, I was able to cut both pieces at the same time.  Then it was  easy peasy to simply lay the trees into the die cut section.  I told you it was a quick one!  And these fabulous Dies are carrying over!  That makes me so happy.

Papers

The DSP used on both cards is from the Merry Bold & Bright Designer Series Paper.  This bold and bright (hence the name) paper is such a Fun paper.  It is definitely bold patterns with bright colors.  And I love it!  The Fa la la piece may be my favorite, but the little trees are a close second.

The DSP is each paired with Lemon Lime Twist for another bright color.  And they both have Basic White layer to highlight the DSP.

Finishes

To complete both cards was very simple as well.  I added a Silver Glimmer paper star that also came from the Merriest Trees Dies.  And that is complimented by Adhesive Backed Glitter Sequins.  They are scattered around the trees to give more sparkle.  I decided those two items were all the trees needed and left the fronts clear of sentiments.  The fun trees tell you it is a Christmas card.

Thank you for stopping by today!  If you want the Merriest Trees Bundle as a discounted bundle, then get it before the catalog retires.  They are carrying over, but will not have the bundle priced.

Festive Christmas

The card I have to share with you today  is made with products from the Online Exclusives.  The Trucking Along bundle, which was so popular a few months ago, is the star.

Stampin' Up!, Trucking Along, Tartan Foil, Deckled Circles, Pearls, Jackie Beers

Stamp Bundle

The Trucking Along Bundle was very popular and still is in my book.  It is available as an Online Exclusive now.  I love all of the added pieces that can fit in the back of the truck.  Actually I used two of those pieces.  The tree for the bed of the truck and then the gifts at the top with the sentiment.  There are a couple of sentiments for different times of year.  Personally, I love the Festive Christmas!

The truck is stamped with Real Red for the outline, but has Sweet Sorbet as the filler.  And I was fine with the splotchy look of the filler.  It gives the worn truck look.  There is more detail showing up close.  I also added the “Farm Fresh” on the truck door with Copper Clay ink.

Dies

The wonderful Dies used here are the Deckled Circles.  I have seen so many of the half moon cards made with these dies that I wanted to try something different.  My original thought was to only use the truck half, but soon saw that it needed both halves.  I apologize for not paying attention to which two of the circles I used.  These Deckled Circles are carrying over and will be in the Online Exclusives when the Mini Catalog retires.

Paper and Finishes

The gorgeous plaid foil is from the Tartan Foil Specialty Designer Series Paper.  It too is an Online Exclusive.  The paper is a little thinner than regular, which is a good thing for mailing cards.  You can see a little of the shiny in the photo where the light caught it.  I paired the Tartan with a card base of Copper Clay, but gave a different layer with the Mossy Meadow.  That ties into the tree and the circles.

To ground the truck, I used the Copper Clay light Stampin’ Blend to create a dirt road.  I also used the Copper Clay ink for the sentiment.  All of the gifts are colored using coordinating colors of Stampin’ Blends.  The finishing touch was a little milky way look of Iridescent Pearls.  I may have gotten a bit carried away with them, but wanted to have a fun swirl between the circle halves.

Thank you for stopping by today!!

Autumn Birthday

The Autumn Leaves Bundle has been a fabulous Fall and Thanksgiving “go to” for me.  But I love the stamped images so much I had to carry it over for a Fall Birthday.

Stampin' Up!, Autumn Leaves, Translucent Florals, All About Autumn, Gold Foil, Jackie Beers

Leaves

The Leaves are the star of this card in my opinion.   I actually did not use the Autumn Leaves stamp set, only the Autumn Leaves Dies were used.  Two of the little oak leaves were die cut from Copper Clay card stock.  I really love the detail the little dies have included.  And then a large leaf was cut from Gold Foil paper.  It really helps the gold in the papers to pop!

The sentiment layer is also cut using the sentiment die from the Autumn Leaves Dies.  This shape is great for so many of the SU sentiments.  And there is also one that is more square with similar details included.  The sentiment itself is from the Translucent Florals stamp set.  It is a simple and bold Happy Birthday.

Papers

The unusual color I pulled from the All About Autumn Designer Series Paper is Moody Mauve.  I was surprised at how well I like this color here.  And yes, I am sad to say the All About Autumn Designer Series Paper is gone for good.  But as popular as it was, I am sure several of you have it to still use.  And if not, there are lots of gorgeous DSP available that could be used with this layout.

The layout I used is one I came up with when looking through the DSP.  I chose different papers to showcase and ended with these three and the layout.  They are all from the DSP pack.  Pairing the Crumb Cake and Moody Mauve was from looking at what seemed to be the dominant colors.

Finishes

The gold foil leaf was a surprisingly good choice to pop!  Next came the placement of the two little leaves and they needed something to hold them together.  The Bakers Twine was great for this.  I made a double bow to stand out a little more.  Then the Adhesive Backed Speckled Dots were scattered around the sentiment.  And yes, they are gone as well.

Layout Measurements

  • Card base of Moody Mauve is 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 scored and folded at 4 1/4
  • Crumb Cake back layer is 5 1/8 X 3 1/8 with wood DSP 5 X 3
  • Crumb Cake middle layer is 4 1/8 X 2 1/8 with leaves DSP of 4 X 2
  • Crumb Cake bottom layer is 4 1/8 X 1 5/8 with metallic DSP of 4 X 1 1/2

Mountain View

The card I have to share today is using the Magical Meadow Bundle.  The scenes in this set remind me more of mountains than meadows.  And I love them!

Stampin' Up!, Magical Meadow, Joy of Christmas, Go To Greetings, Distressed Tile, Wavy Trim, Jackie Beers

Stamps and Dies

This beautiful tree image is from the Magical Meadows stamp set.  The fun shape is actually the shape of the image and it’s matching Die.  I really like the rugged look it gives.  The sentiment is from the, in my opinion, must have stamp set titled Go To Greetings.  This set has a few regularly used sentiment in a couple of sizes.  I really love it and use it quite often.  The sentiment was stamped and then the edges were angle cut with Paper Snips.

Papers

This beautiful greenery paper is from the Joy of Christmas Designer Series Paper.  It is definitely not just Christmas paper!  These leaves have such beautiful shades of green that I was able to use Shaded Spruce card stock and Old Olive ink for a perfect pairing.

Details

This is a fairly simple card but has several different texture details.  The strip behind the focal area is embossed using the Distressed Tile Embossing Folder.  That is definitely a favorite folder.  I also added a strip of the Wavy Trim to carry more of the Mountain theme.  And the thin ribbon behind the trim is actually Soft Sea Foam Seam Binding.  I was looking for a soft green and this was perfect.  Sadly it is a retired ribbon, but it worked for me.  I am sure you have ribbon in your stash that would work as well.  The final touch is a scattering of the green Adhesive Backed Speckled Dots.

Last Chance Products

This Magical Meadow Bundle is on the retiring list.  Click on the photo and you will be taken to the complete PDF.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to all!  I hope you are enjoying spending time with Family and Friends.  I am so thankful to be able to share what I love with all of you.  Hopefully you can get in some crafting time today.

Stampin' Up!, Autumn Leaves, Leaf Fall, Speckled Dots, Jackie Beers

Stamps and Dies

This card is made with one of my favorite ever leaf sets.  I love the shading of the stamped images in the Autumn Leaves set.  And being able to add the veining, if desired, really takes it up a notch.  For today’s card I opted to keep everything fairly simple.  The leaves are stamped with Crushed Curry and Cajun Craze Inks.  I added the veining with Basic Gray Ink.

To add a bit more dimension to the card, I die cut two of the small leaves from Old Olive card stock.  And used the lovely frame also from the Autumn Leaves Dies.  The sentiment is from the set as well and fits perfectly in the space.  I am thrilled that this bundle is going to carryover for a bit of time.

Extra Definition

To add some extra definition to this card I used the Leaf Fall 3D Embossing Folder.  This one is in the Online Exclusives.  It is a great leafy folder and could be used year round.  By embossing on White card stock there is a softer look I believe.  Plus adding the two die cut leaves adds to the texture also.

Papers

The card stocks used are a mix of what could be considered Fall colors.  Old Olive is the card base as well as the focal layer base.  But to add a bit of color, I opted to use Crushed Curry for the first layer.  It helps to give the embossed White a bit of help, and also brings out the Crushed Curry leaf.  I also used it to ground the sentiment . The white on white did not show at all well.   But adding that little scrap strip of Crushed Curry was a perfect touch.  And the final touch is the scattering of the Speckled Dot Adhesive Back embellishments.

Snowflakes

I love an easy way to make a wreath.  Wreaths are always so welcoming to me.  This one is very quick and simple to do.  The card  contains products on the Last Chance List.  And one that is carrying over.

Stampin' Up!, Wishes All Around, Snowflake Sky, Simply Elegant Trim, Jackie Beers

Wreath

This fun snowflake wreath is created using the Wishes All Around Dies.  There are a couple of different wreaths but this one caught my eye.  It is a very simple wreath, which I love.  The wreath itself is one single die that creates the circle of snowflakes.  For an addition, I used a separate die to cut the extra snowflake that hangs to the center.  And I was wonderfully surprised when it “attached” to the arms of the other snowflakes to hang perfectly.  I really love that unexpected fit!

The wreath did not need any extras in my opinion.  So all I added was a simple bow.  The Simply Elegant Trim, which comes in a pack of gold and silver, was the immediate thought.  This trim is so easy to work with and surprisingly does great small bows.  To give it a little extra oomph, I did a double loop bow.

Papers

The star paper of the card is the Silver Glimmer Paper.  Actually this is a pack of gold and silver glimmer paper.  And better yet, it is adhesive backed.  The name is simply Silver & Gold Adhesive Backed Glimmer Paper.  A mouth full for a beautiful paper.  It saves the step of adding adhesive sheets prior to die cutting.  And this adhesive backing peeled away very easily.  I give this paper a definite 10 on the paper scale!

The card base and layer are both Basic White.  I used Thick Basic White for the card base and then regular weight for the layer.  With the layer raised with Stampin’ Dimensionals, it did not require the added thickness.    I do love the White on White cards, I just rarely make them.  LOL!!

Embellishments

There are no extra embellishments!  Shocking I know.  But, I did emboss the White layer.  It is difficult to see in the photo, but I used the Snowflake Sky Embossing Folder.  Those snowflakes are great on their own, but were a perfect match tot he snowflake wreath.  And this great folder is on the Carryover List.  That is a good thing.

Last Chance and Carryover Lists

The card today used the Wishes All Around which is on the Last Chance List.  I hope you will give this set a second look if it is not already on your list or in your collection.  And the Snowflake Sky Embossing Folder is on the Carryover List.  So woohoo there!  Although it could sell out as well.

Merry & Bright

I am going to be focusing cards on products that are retiring for the next little while.    With the Last Chance lists out, we are all thinking of those items.   This may give you additional ideas for your cards.  And as usual, I have chosen to love most of the ones that are retiring!! LOL!!  The lists are at the bottom of my post.

Stampin' Up!, Joy of Noel, Merry & Bright, Basics Embossing Folders, Traditions of St. Nick, Jackie Beers

Stamps & Bundle

This card is made with the fabulous Joy of Noel Bundle.  The stamps are ones that are timeless and classic.  I love them!  The greenery is from the Joy of Noel stamp set and is cut with the matching Dies.  I added two additional sprigs of berries.  They are all stamped using Basic Gray for a little softer look, and colored with Stampin’ Blends.

There is an additional stamp set used for the fun sentiment.  It is the Merry & Bright stamp set.  Personally, I have fallen in love with the cut apart letters.  Having seen it done by others for quite a while, I was hesitant to try myself.  Now I am hooked.  For this card it takes down the elegant a bit to more of just a sweet card.

Papers and Embossing

The gorgeous DSP is what decided the green for this card.  It is from the Traditions of St. Nick Designer Series Paper.  This is one of the Online Exclusive papers and is still available.  The two tones of green gave me Mossy Meadow and Old Olive for the coloring of leaves.  Real Red for the card base was a given for the berries and ribbon.

The White layer is embossed using one of the pack of 3 Online Exclusives Embossing Folders.  They are simply called Basics 3D Embossing Folders.  And they are wonderful to have in your tool kit!  This one is floral.  I always thought of it as a summery type flower.  But after using it, it could very easily be visioned as a poinsettia.  Take a look for yourself and let me know what you think.

Finishes

The ribbon seemed perfect for the attaching the greenery.  It is from the Real Red and Garden Green ribbon combo in the Annual Catalog.  I love that it is very easy to work with.  That is always a win.  And the finishing touch is the Basic Rhinestones Jewels for a touch of bling.
