Countryside Chic

The card I have to share today is a mixture of Country and Chic.  It is a peek through type card which is a bit different for me.

Stampin' Up!, Season of Chic, Chic Dies, Countryside Corners Dies, Crumb Cake, Blending Brushes, Jackie Beers

This card was made for the Make My Monday Challenge.  As a Design Team member, we have the theme ahead of time.  This one really through me.  It is titled an Aperture Card.  I had nothing at first.  However now you will have several ideas if you would like to play along.  Simply click on the icon below and you will go to the Challenge Blog.  There you can see other versions of this challenge and play along yourself.

Dies

As I said above, I had no idea where to start on this theme.  But having seen several layered cards using the Countryside Corners Dies I had a thought.  I used the dies to make an opening that you could see inside the card.  Thank you Stampin’ Up! for these fun dies!!!  Here is a view of the inside.

Stamps

The idea for the inside came from a friend’s post on Facebook.  She is a talented artist in many different medias.  Her last post was some resin with sea shells.  As soon as I saw her post I knew what could go inside my opening.  The Season of Chic is a set, with Dies, that I love but rarely use!  I think we all have those.

I stamped multiples of the sea shell using Petal Pink as the base, both stamped fully and stamped off, and Crumb Cake as the outline.  The small swirl shell on the front was where I had tested some of the splatter in different strengths and used that scrap to die cut it.  After stamping the splatter, or in my case it is sand, I decided it needed color.  Using the Pool Party that matches the card stock, I used a blender brush to brush that area.  Then created a fun layer for the bottom front with what looks like bird prints in the sand.

Finishes

The card took several different turns in the process of being made.  The bottom Pool Party piece was added after I decided that after adding the “water” on the inside there needed to be room to write a note.  I do think it helps to highlight my unusual spot for the front sentiment though.  And to finish I added several of the Flat Adhesive Pearls to the various shells.

Thank you for stopping by today!!!  Don’t forget we are halfway through Bonus Days.

Wonderfully Zany

The Zany Zoo suite is one of the most fun of any in the Annual Catalog.  At least in my opinion anyway.  I have used it today for an anytime card that would also work for anyone.

Stampin' Up!, Zany Zoo, Zoo Crew, Lemon Lime Twist, Jackie Beers

Stamp Bundle

The Zany Zoo Bundle is one for any person I know.  And today’s card could be a birthday or any reason to celebrate someone.  And I love that!  The one image that I have not used previously is this skunk.  He / She is so adorable and looks like they are up for an adventure.  The image is cut from the DSP using one of the Dies from the Stamp Bundle.  The trees were fussy cut from the paper.  It was not at all difficult to cut out.

The banner is also included in the Dies.  As is the stamped sentiment.  The banner only cuts the Basic White banner and not the Lemon Lime Twist one.  I wanted a layer of course.  My way around this was to use the Die to emboss the outline using the Mini Cut & Emboss Machine.  Then I simply cut around the embossed, or rather debossed, area.  The sentiment is included in the stamp set as well.

Papers

My layers came from the Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper.  I knew I wanted the skunk and the trees.  And the trees are Lemon Lime Twist.  So that became the card base.  The black and white DSP is also in that paper pack.  All of the reverse sides of the DSP are different black and white prints.  This made the card pretty easy.  Lemon Lime Twist for the card base with a layer of Basic White and then the DSP.  Easy Peasy!!!

Reminder:  Bonus Days are still ongoing.  This fun Zany Zoo Bundle would get you a coupon code under the Bonus Days special, and it would give you a Blue Star Reward from me!

Thank you for dropping by today!!!

Truckin’

My card today is showcasing a look at the Trucking Along Bundle.  Hopefully you were able to get it last week.  If not, do not fret, it will be coming back!  I understand why it was so popular and even extra supply was exceeded!  This is a year round set.

Stampin' Up!, Trucking Along, Zany Zoo, Glorious Gingham, Banners Pick A Punch, Jackie Beers

Stamp Bundle

This great Tucking Along Bundle is a Punch Bundle!  Those are my favorite.  Punch bundles are less expensive and just as fun!  However this stamp set has so many extra stamps!  There are a variety of additions for the back of the truck and added scene images. The truck is great on it’s own but also has additional wheel wells, side window, and tires included in the punch.

My truck is stamped and colored with Real Red Stampin’ Blends.  I added the bed rails as well as some gifts in the bed.  A tip for you is for when you fussy cut the rails and gifts, leave the bottom of each long.  I adhered the extra length for each to the backside of the truck.  It is so much easier to do than trying to layer in place.

Background

Last week I used a watercolor background for Zany Zoo and now I have repeated that for the truck.  Watercolor Paper is used along with the Water Painter brushes.  The colors used are Azure Afternoon, Old Olive, and Pecan Pie.  The truck was then added using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Papers and Sentiment

To highlight my red truck, I went with Real Red as the card base.  And to carry on the wood of the bed rails and tree branch I went with the Pecan Pie Glorious Gingham.  Since this is a guy card, I did not use bling.  That is shocking even to me!  But I did use the Banners Pick A Punch to flag the ends of the sentiment.  And the sentiment is from the Zany Zoo stamp set.

Pals July Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop!

This month, the theme is CASE the Catalog. We really hope that you will be inspired by all the amazing creations the Pals are sharing with you! Then, you will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

The card I chose to case is one with some easy layers and fun tags.  It is on page 45 of the Annual Catalog and the far right one.  My version is both darker and brighter.

Stampin' Up!, Timeless Arrangements, , Designer Tags Dies, Delightfully Eclectic, Jackie Beers

Colors

The colors for this card came from the top layer of DSP.  Actually both layers are from the Delightfully Eclectic Designer Series Papers.  I love the mix of the Night of Navy and Fresh Freesia together.  These colors carried over from the DSP to the card base and the two tags.  And even to the die cut flowers.

Dies

The Die cut tags are the star of this show.  Both of them are beautifully detailed.  They are both from the Online Exclusives – Designer Tags Dies.  There are three detailed ones the size of the Navy one as well as a solid Die to layer behind.  My favorite is the sentiment though.  The little stitching and flower on the end are so cute.

The die cut flowers behind the tags are from the Timeless Arrangements Dies.  These are awesome floral dies in that they are all on a little bar.  It makes them very easy to layer and not have a lot of tiny pieces to try to glue.  I left the tops of all of the floral free for added texture.

Stamps and Finishes

The little “Thanks” sentiment is from the Timeless Arrangements stamp set.  It is a favorite as it fits on a lot of small dies as well as just a little strip of card stock.  The bow is from the 2022-2024 In Color Bakers Twine.  I went a bit wild and used three strands for this bow! The blue is a bit brighter than the NIght of Navy used elsewhere but that is fine and helps it stand out.   And my finishing touch is a scattering of the Iridescent Pearls.  They match everything and add some sparkle to the darker colors.

Thank you for stopping in today!!

More inspiration awaits, so use the lineup below to visit the rest of the Design Team. The Pals are very excited to show you what they’ve created! Then, please mark your calendars for our next blog hop next month (always the second Wednesday of each month), when our theme will be “Punch Your Art Out”.

Golden Anniversary

Today’s card is a special one made for one of my long time Stamp Club ladies.  My first ever 50th Anniversary card.  I hope she liked it!

Stampin' Up!, Hello Irresistible, Wanted To Say, Crushed Curry, More Dazzle, Jackie Beers

Card Front

This card is a bit different in that it really doesn’t have stamping on the front.  It is a Fun Fold and I used four different pieces of the Hello Irresistible Designer Series paper.  They all are very similar and work wonderfully together.  The card base is Crushed Curry with a Basic White layer.  I did not want it to be too pinkish since it is for her husband as well!  The pink came from the hearts.  They are from the Wanted To Say Dies.

The “50” is made using the More Dazzle Specialty paper.  It comes in gold and Champagne colors.  The dies used are retired however.  They are the Large Numbers.  I rarely use numbers but have held on to this set for just such an occasion.

Open Card

Here is a view of the inside of the card.  You can see the fourth piece of the DSP on the center fold.  It is only seen when the card is open.

The inside is quite a bit simpler than the front.  I did use the Soft Sea Foam ink to add a leaf to the inside sentiment layer as well as some speckles.  And the sentiment is from the Ringed With Nature stamp set.  There are not a lot of Happy Anniversary in my collection apparently!

Fun Fold

  • The card base is Crushed Curry cut 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 and scored at 2 1/8 and 4 1/4.
  • The White layers are 2 cut 1 7/8 X 5 1/4 and one 4 X 5 1/4.
  • The DSP is 2 cut 1 3/4 X 5 1/8  and 1 cut 3 7/8 X 5 1/8.
  • Crushed Curry folded layer is 5 1/2 X 2 1/2 scored and folded at 2 3/4.
  • 2 White layers cut 2 5/8 X 2 5/8 (one for inside)
  • 1 DSP cut (front focal layer) 2 1/2 X 2 1/2
