Full sheet of Joy

The project, or technique,  I am sharing today is one I did last December.  It is stamping a full sheet of card stock to create four cards.  This one is a little bit different and is also quicker.

Stampin' Up!, Joy of Noel, Joy of Christmas, Rocking Horse, Very Best Occasions, Jackie Beers

This is the first card.  And here is the second one.

Beginning

The start of this project is with a full sheet of Basic White card stock.  I failed to take a photo even though I told myself to several times as I was creating the base!  DUH!!  The next step was to use a Blending Brush and Balmy Blue Ink.  I shaded a cross on the sheet of card stock.  It was simply to give some definition around two of the edges and the base of the greenery.  Next I stamped the greenery image and colored it.  Then all that was left to do was cut the sheet into four pieces and trim to the size I wanted.  I chose to have all of the stamped pieces 3 3/4 X 5.

Stamp sets

The greenery image is from the Joy of Noel stamp set.  The image is stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then colored with Stampin’ Blends.  There are three different greens used.  The holly is Mossy Meadow, the leaves are Old Olive, and the bit of Fir is Shaded Spruce.  The final color is the berries and I went with a different red and chose Poppy Parade.

The front sentiment was picked after going through most of my Christmas sets.  It is from the Rocking Horse stamp set.  I love mixed fonts, and especially love the cursive used here.  Plus it goes along with the Joy theme of products used.

Papers

The focal layer, as mentioned at the beginning is Basic White.  But I went a little different and added a thin layer of DSP.  Generally I do not use DSP unless it is well viewed.  This time the scene seemed to call for it.  So these pieces are from the Joy of Christmas Designer Series Paper.  (Sadly this paper is sold out.  But any DSP with similar colors will be beautiful.)  And the card base is Poppy Parade to match the berries of the image.

Finishes

The one thing to tie everything down is the ribbon.  This is Sweet Sorbet Bordered Ribbon.  It is in the upcoming Mini Catalog.  The color matched the Poppy Parade much better than a Real Red ribbon would.  And I like the size of it.  So a ribbon holding a sprig of greenery is the focal image of my card.

Thank you for stopping by today!! I hope you will come by tomorrow and check out the other two cards from this technique.  They are Fun Folds.

Love & Joy

The card for today is a simple wreath that is so quick to make.  It stars the Wishes All Around Bundle to create a wreath from little Christmas trees.

Stampin' Up!, Wishes All Around, Merriest Trees, Simply Elegant Trim, Traditions of St Nick, Jackie Beers

Stamp Bundle

The star of this card is this sweet wreath.  As said above, it is from the Wishes All Around Bundle.  I stamped the wreath, made from little trees, using Garden Green Ink on a piece of 3 1/4 X 3 1/4 Basic White card stock.  Then I stamped three extra little trees on scrap paper.  The wreath is not die cut, even though there is a die for it.  But I did die cut the three little trees.  And there are three of that die, which makes this so much faster!  The extra little trees are added at center bottom left and right.  The center one is directly over top of a tree, where the other two are offset.

Sentiment

The choice of a sentiment was a little difficult this time.  More because of locating it.  When I decided to stamp it in the center of the wreath, everything came together.  This Love & Joy is from the Merriest Trees stamp set.  I feel like I use this set all the time!

Papers

The first choice of papers was the wallpapaper looking piece from the Traditions of St. Nick Designer Series Paper.  With the larger print, it did not matter that quite a bit is covered by the wreath layers.  And it simply reminds me of Christmas.  To go with a red and green theme, I chose the card base to be Thick Basic White and then a layer of Garden Green.  Then I changed things up and went with Cherry Cobbler for the layer behind the wreath.  It helps the sentiment pop a bit more.  I did round the corners of the wreath layers to soften them a little.  The retired Trio Punch was what I used, but any corner rounder will do.

Finishes

This card did not need a lot of bling since it is so busy as is.  Of course I had to add a touch.  So I went with a few Rhinestones on the wreath.  Then I decided to add the Simply Elegant Trim in Silver to the left side and a bow at the top.  This part shows up much clearer in person.  It probably should be a double strand of the silver to stand out more.

I hope you have a great day!!

Sleigh Ride

I am still working on Christmas Cards and enjoying sharing them with you.  Hopefully most of you have already gotten your cards made and in the mail.  With my hubby’s foot injury and doctor appointments, I am so far behind that I have missed a few birthdays even.  Life continues to happen!!  So let’s go for a Sleigh Ride today!

Stampin' Up!, Horse and sleigh, one horse open sleigh, lost lagoon, copper clay, jackie beers

Bundle

This card is made with the Horse & Sleigh Bundle.  It is one of the Online Exclusives and is still available.  I love this sleigh!  The set has several other images and sentiments to use as well.  This horse and sleigh is stamped with Basic Gray Ink for a little lighter outline.  I did not want it to stand out a lot.  All of the image is colored using Stampin’ Blends.  I did go over the parts that needed to be darker.  By using the Basic Black Dark Stampin’ Blend, I was able to color the sleigh runners and the horse harness and reins without everything being black.  I will say that I used more Stampin’ Dimensionals on this horse and sleigh than I do on a couple of cards!! LOL!!!

Papers

This DSP piece is from the One Horse Open sleigh Designer Series Paper.  It is part of the Horse & Sleigh Suite of products, and is also still available.  When I saw this piece, I knew it was perfect for a sleigh scene.  And I love the softer colors on this page.  I pulled the card base and layer from the paper of course.  They are Lost Lagoon for the card base and then Copper Clay for the layer.  The paper does so much of the work that with it and the sleigh, the card is finished.

Sentiment

This sweet sentiment is included in the stamp set also.  I love Wishing You Cheer!  Without covering the beautiful paper, I went for simplicity with the sentiment.  It is stamped using Copper Clay ink and then fussy cut.  Although the fussy cutting was a lot of straight cutting, which I loved.  The final touch was one of the larger Rhinestones next to the sentiment.

Happy Gingerbread

Today I have a second card utilizing the Sending Cheer Bundle.  This one features the sweet Gingerbread Man, or I supposed it could be a Ms. Gingerbread.  Either way, it is adorable.

Stampin' Up!, Sending Cheer, Traditions of St. Nick, Sweet Sorbet Bordered Ribbon, Jackie Beers

Stamp Bundle

The images from Sending Cheer Bundle definitely bring a Smile to anyone.  This gingerbread popping out of the envelope is sure to do that.  He, along with the envelope and sentiment are all part of the Bundle.  And it is on the Last Chance List!!  The fact there are matching dies and even some extra dies, like a Santa Hat, make this a must have.

The gingerbread is stamped using Pecan Pie Ink, with Real Red Stampin’ Blends for the hearts.  His facial features are stamped with Early Espresso Ink.  For the sentiment I went with Real Red again to brighten up some of the darker colors.  My idea for the envelope came from a card on Pinterest.  It is stamped using Wild Wheat Ink.  I then took the Take Your Pick Craft Knife and cut a slit in the top V shape where he is popping out.

Papers

The card base is Copper Clay which is a touch darker than the Pecan Pie Ink of the gingerbread.  Since the DSP is a white background, I used Mossy Meadow for the layer between the two.  The gorgeous and fun DSP is from the Traditions of St. Nick Designer Series Paper.  I really love all of the images in this paper pack.  To finish the papers, I used Mossy Meadow again as the backing of the sentiment layers.

Finishes

To ground the different pieces, I opted to use the Sweet Sorbet Bordered Ribbon.  I really like the white trim around the edges.  And it is an easy ribbon to work with.  The envelope is placed just a little right of center  This allows room for the bow to the left and the sentiment layer overlapping a bit on the right.  The shapes for the sentiment are one of my favorite punches.  It is the Double Oval Punch.  The final touch is a scattering of some of the darker Adhesive Backed Solid Gems.

Thank you for stopping by today!!  I hope you have a great weekend.
