I have been making rather quick cards lately. And today’s is another fairly quick one. It is also my first play with the Cake Fancy stamp set.
Stamp Set
All of the stamped images are from the Cake Fancy stamp set. I had fun with this card and mixed colors along with making a cake that I have been craving. Instead of an actual cake, I have been wanting a big, rich, Key Lime Pie. So I made one for myself. And this one contains no Fat or Calories!!
The images are all the distinctive type so they show light and dark texture. My choice of Soft Sea Foam was really light in places for the Key Lime part of the pie. And the dollop of whipped cream on top came out a big darker than I would want. But I will take creative license and go with it.
The sentiment was a bit more challenging than anything. It is one stamp and did not really fit anywhere. That meant getting a little creative and cutting it into pieces. Three small pieces will fit just about anywhere. And I made it work.
Background
The dotted background is from the Dotted Circles Embossing Folder. I am so in love with this folder. The dots are not only fun but they really pop. And even though I have covered a lot of the background with my images, they still pop and make themselves seen. If you do not have this folder, I hope it is on your wish list.
Papers and Colors
There is no DSP on this card. That is a rare occasion for me. However all of the other elements made it really unnecessary. I chose the Soft Sea Foam for the Key Lime of my pie. Then held that paper along the rest of my papers to see what brighter color went well with it. I settled on Highland Heather for the Dotted Layer on top of Thick Basic White for the card base.
The Soft Sea Foam banner is stamped with Soft Sea Foam Ink for a softer background. And the Cake stand is Gorgeous Grape to pop a bit more than the background layer. Then I decided to go with Gorgeous Grape for the layer of the Pie since it was over the Highland Heather. I did not want them to meld together.
Finishes
There was not much left to add to the card after all of the layers and texture. But I really needed a touch of bling. I opted for two of the larger Iridescent Pearls on the banner. The banner itself is a bit of an extra, like ribbon would be to ground the focal layer. So I still have two Extras!

The card I have for you today is a quick and easy gift card holder. It stars the gorgeous Thoughtful Journey DSP. The scenes created on the paper are ones I wish I could see in real life. They are amazing.
Papers
The Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper is a 6 X 6 pack filled with gorgeous scenes like the one above. The opposite sides are beautiful watercolor mixes. I paired this scene with Berry Burst for a bright background. Surprisingly I did not add a layer between the card base and the DSP. The paper stands out enough without the extra layer.
Stamps
This fun sentiment is from the Unbounded Love Stamp Set. That set is all sentiments with some fabulous Die shapes to use with them. I opted to keep this card simple and used a punch instead. But I do love the elegant script along with the boldness of it. That helps the simple sentiment really pop!
Extras
The finishes for this card are all easy ones as well. I used the 1 3/4 Circle Punch for the sentiment. And to add some texture I used the 3 pack Bakers Twine in the soft blue. By adding some adhesive to the back of the circle, I could loosely wrap the twine to create a very loose looking bow. Then the circle is added with Stampin’ Dimensionals. And the final touch is a single dragonfly on the sentiment layer. The Adhesive Backed Birds & Dragonflies are great little added pieces. This scene seemed to fit the dragonfly.
Measurements
The “gift card” holder is made with one simple cut. Here is a view of the open card for you to see.
To create this little pocked I began with the basic 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 piece of Berry Burst card stock. It is scored at 4 1/4. Place the front flap of the card on your paper trimmer with the 5 1/2 length at the top. ***For short measurements I use the 1 1/2 measurements that are to the right of the cutting line!! Or you can slide the top of the card over to 4 1/4. Either way, you are making a cut at 1 1/4 from the bottom of the front flap edge over to the score line.
Once the cut is made, fold and burnish the score lines making sure to keep that small section aligned. The DSP is cut 4 X 4 for the top section and 4 X 1 for the bottom section. I cut a 4 X 5 piece and then cut the 1″ off the bottom. For a scene paper like this one, it allows your scene to look continuous.
Next add adhesive to the very bottom of the cut piece and just the far edge. Do not adhere the top part. This allows for the pocket for the gift card. Tip: I always lay a gift card under the card stock when adhering a pocket to ensure it is not too tight of a fit.

My card today is a Get Well card for a sweet friend. They are close to sympathy cards in my book. I am not sure why I have such a hard time designing one. But this one came together very easily. The Thoughtful Wishes Bundle is the star.
Stamp Bundle
This is actually my first time playing with the Thoughtful Wishes Bundle. I originally loved it because of the Thistle and the open weave leaves. The Dies in this set are fabulous in cutting a stamped piece, or individual pieces. And I love the sentiments of the set. The mix of fonts is always a favorite of mine.
Papers
The color choices were totally from the flower colors. So Pretty Peacock as the card base with Berry Burst as the thin layer and the sentiment layer. The flower is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then colored with Stampin’ Blends. However the leaves are another story. I used a piece from the Bright & Beautiful 6 X 6 paper pack. It was a variegated greens that I used to show in place of light and dark coloring of leaves. The paper did it for me!
Extra Products
The Circle that holds all of the details is from the Deckled Circles Dies. I used the 7th from smallest. There are really a lot of these dies! And for the sentiment, I used the Labeled With Love Punch. This punch set is one of the fabulous ideas that Stampin’ Up! has in the Annual Catalog. There are two Bundles that you can choose to get stamps and Dies or stamps and a punch. I love punches, so that was my choice.
To ground the sentiment, I went with the Pretty Peacock and Gold Ribbon. Just a strip of it was plenty for the sentiment to sit on. And the touch of bling comes from the Pecan Pie & Clear Ribbon Adhesive Backed Dots. These clear dots have what looks like the same type ribbon as the Pretty Peacock, just silver, underneath the clear dot. They really are nice.

For today’s card I have a fun card using the Sweet Pea Stamp Set. At first glance this set seems very simple. But if you looked at the sentiments and the expressions on the little peas, they are great for a variety of occasions.
Stamps
This card is made with stamps from the one set. The Sweet Pea set is unusual and great. An odd combination for sure! I used the three peas in a pod to wish the “Hapea” birthday. There is also a Grumpea that I think is hilarious! The single pea with the Party Blower is a single stamp that I fussy cut to add a little more cheer. He has a partner in the three peas in the pod also. All of the images and sentiment are stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then colored using Stampin’ Blends.
Dies
To come up with the layout for this card was the most difficult part of it. When I found the Nested Essentials Dies, I knew they were the best idea. And I love that there are different shapes that layer. I went with the banners and the rounded rectangles. The middle two of each shape I believe are the ones I used.
Papers
This card is fairly monochromatic in the greens. But then I added the Peach Pie as an accent. The card base and shape layers are Soft Sea Foam. And the green DSP is from the To Market Designer Series Paper. This is the back side of the one with tomatoes. I just thought it fit my green colors perfectly.
Finishes
To complete this card I added two separate products. First is the Peach Pie Bordered Ribbon. This was used when I decided on adding the Peach Pie and Wild Wheat as the party hat colors. I needed to tie those colors in. The ribbon is wrapped around the DSP layer and secured.
The bling is a scattering of the Dappled Dots Adhesive Backed elements. There are three colors included in the package. They are peach, pink, and a tan. I chose to use the peach color again.

I have another of the possible Overlooked stamp sets. This one is the Happiest Day set. It makes me smile and I hope it will you as well.
Stamps
This is a one stamp set card. You know how I love these for a quick card. These dragonflies are so fun. You can stamp them and color the wings, stamp a design from the set for the wings, or do as I did and stamp on DSP. I stamped on the DSP and then also stamped on White. There are no matching dies for this set. But fussy cutting the dragonflies is not a time consuming or hard thing. After cutting out the wings, I glued them to the image that was stamped on Basic White card stock. Easy peasy!!
The sentiment is from the set as well. I will say I do love the sentiment. And at the same time I am not a fan of glitter that flies around. When I get it on me, it wants to stay forever. Or on my desk forever as well. This glitter in the sentiment is a good glitter! LOL!!
Other Products
To finish the sentiment layer, I used the Nested Essentials Dies. The 3rd Largest is the one I used to die cut the sweet sentiment. Having just the small touch of the dots around the edge was perfect. And to complete the sentiment I added some Wink of Stella touches around the sentiment. In person you can see the “glitter” a bit better.
The gorgeous background is the Dotted Circles 3D Embossing Folder. This is one that I originally was not sure I needed. I could not picture how I would use it with the type cards I make. Well…..I was so wrong! This is a beautiful and stand out type embossing folder that is a great one for your collection. It really does pop the card. And if you can believe it, I did not add any further bling! I know that is a shocker. But the embossed with the dragonflies seemed good to go. And the bit of shine from Wink of Stella was enough.

Today is the final day of Bonus Days! This is the last day to earn Bonus Coupons to spend beginning tomorrow, August 1. I really am having a hard time realizing it is August already. Where is time going!
For today’s card I have a wonderful pairing of beautiful paper and Dies. The stamp set is one you may have overlooked, but I have fallen in love with it. After this, I hope you will as well.
Papers
The products used on this card are all wonderful. And this made choosing the star a difficult job. However the paper truly does stand out as I have used quite a lot of it. This is the Country Woods Designer Series Paper. All of the patterns are various wood photos. This piece of different faded painted planks is my favorite. But I also used the tag as a way of using a second piece of this fabulous paper.
To give the tag more depth and to help pop it from the painted planks, I added a second tag of Smoky Slate. Of course this is the card base as well. The Smoky Slate plays well with all of the colors of painted planks. And especially the Misty Moonlight ink.
Stamps
The hidden stamp set I mentioned is what contains both this fun image as well as the sweet sentiment. It is the You Are Beautiful set. The set is on page 93 of the Annual Catalog. The image has the faded look. And the sweet sentiment is written in a fabulous font. I love the majority of Stampin’ Up!’s fonts they use.
Dies
The maybe Star of this card is the tag (s). This great tag is from the Greetings of the Season Dies. They are an Online Exclusive with a wonderful stamp set of sentiments. I only used the tag though. It is a great size for the card. The little stitching around the edges adds the perfect amount of extra to it.
Finishes
To complete the double tags, I added a bow from Linen Thread. I love this as a country or masculine finish for a card. Plus it is so simple to work with. I doubled the thread to make a bit more substantial bow. And my bling is also one of the new Online Exclusives. These are Pecan Pie and Clear Ribbon Adhesive Dots. The ones used are the Pecan Pie. And they do look as if there is ribbon underneath.
