Nature’s Christmas

I am giving one last love, probably, to Nature’s Beauty stamp set.  I said probably because I may use it again as just a winter time card.  I love the animals and the background I envision with them.

As with most of my cards, this did not end up the way I intended when I began.  But I am okay with that.  I started with the stamp set and saw the negative of the Stitched Nested Labels Dies from the challenge card the other day.  That gave me the idea for sponging that I have not done in some time.

I used Pool Party and Balmy Blue for my background sponging but they did not show up very well.  I wanted light, but this was too light.  So I decided to give it a border.  I first used the Journaling Pens on page 170 of the Annual Catalog.  With the negative still in place, I just drew around the inside.  I was a bit off, the negative slipped, but that is okay as well.

The journaling pens gave the look I wanted, but it still needed something.  I decided this leaf would work perfectly.  Sort of like the old pictures you see draped in pine boughs.

I hope this gives you some ideas for all of the negatives I am sure you have from using your die shapes.  Thank you for stopping in today.  Merry Christmas Eve!!

Bonanza Birthday

I have another sneak peek to share with you.  This is one of the cutest sets from the upcoming Mini Catalog.  I needed a birthday card and wanted it to be humorous.  I had the new products near and when I looked through them I was immediately drawn to the Bonanza Buddies and Birthday Bonanza Designer Series Paper.

This card was for my upline Brian King on his birthday.  After looking at the DSP, I knew it had to be the lion.  Do you get it?  The King of animals and Brian King, InKing Royalty.  It made me laugh!

I paired the sentiment with a new punch.  The back layer is the Timeless Label Punch and the front is the new Label Me Fancy Punch.  They were a perfect fit.

I don’t usually show the inside of the cards.  This one needed to be shared as I love this sentiment which is part of the Bonanza Buddies set.  It is a perfect sentiment and I see using it by masking off the birthday part for other occasions.

Thank you for visiting today.  Please come back tomorrow for another new project.  I know you are all busy with Christmas almost here.  I appreciate you sharing your time with me.

Treat Match Books

I love handing out little treats as I go about my errands.  I really try to do it during holidays.  So I made some super quick and easy Matchbook Treat Holders.  I used up some old Designer Series Paper that is a bit thicker than some.  I knew I had saved it for a reason.

I see pictures where my stamping friends do infinity shots of their projects.  I never think to do that.  I sort of did that on this one though.

As I said, these are really quick and easy to do.  I have individually wrapped Memento Candies inside of mine.  I get them at Dollar Tree and there are about 20 or so in a bag.  I like that they are not the normal mint or chocolate.

I decorated the beautiful paper with the Happy Christmas from Itty Bitty Christmas.  I cannot tell you how many times I have used that stamp set this year.  It has been a Go To set.

The measurements for this little matchbook is 1 3/4 X 4 3/4 scored at 1/2, 2 1/2, and 3″.  I used the old Stampin’ Up! stapler, but any little stapler would work.  Place the candy wrapping down against the bottom of the fold and staple a little lower than halfway.  That gives room to tuck the top flap under.  As I said, these are super easy.

Thank you for dropping in today.  Please come back on Monday for another new project.

Do you need a Stampin’ Up! Gift Certificate for yourself 🙂 or a friend?  I can help you with that.  Please contact me and I will explain the process.  It is very easy.

The Gang for GDP220

You may have seen the Gangs All Meer stamp set in the upcoming Sale-A-bration catalog.  I have seen several sneak Peeks of them.  So I am sharing one today.  It fit perfectly with my Global Design Project Case The Designer Challenge.

The Gangs All Meer makes an adorable card that any age recipient would love.  I know I would.  It makes me Smile!!  The Case The Designer Challenge (GDP220) is such a fun challenge.  Casing is Using the card for inspiration, colors, layout, and everything down to almost copying it.  Of course if you copy exactly please give credit to the person you copied.

In this instance, here is the card I Cased.

These challenges are a great way to get ideas when you cannot get anything to work from your brain to your hands.  I have that problem quite often and look back at challenges to get an idea.

I paired the stamped image with the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper.  I love the colors it contains.  Of Course my card base and layers are from that striped piece of DSP.  The ribbon is Calypso Coral Satin ribbon and is a great way to “ground” the framed focal point.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you will return tomorrow for another new project.  And if you need a hint to someone for a gift for yourself, or if you have a stamping friend who is hard to by for, I Have Gift Certificates.  All you have to do is contact me and I will do it right away.

All of the supplies I used on today’s project are listed at the bottom of the page.

Holiday Stars for InKing Royalty Blog Hop

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s December Blog Hop! This year’s Blog Hop themes are inspired by a single word – and this month our projects are centered around CHRISTMAS. It’s a wonderful time of year, and we are having lots of fun with our Christmas-themed projects. We are so excited to share them with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

I have once again fallen back on my favorite type of Christmas card, a Gift Card holder.  As we wind down the days until Christmas, I have had a few requests for these from friends.  So I assume if I and my friends need gift card holders, then you may as well.  I started with my “Go To” gift card and added to that.

Stampin' Up!, So Many Stars, Wrapped In Plaid, Perfectly Plaid, Jackie Beers

I paired Wrapped In Plaid Designer Series paper with the So Many Stars Bundle.  I used three different sheets of the Wrapped In Plaid.  They all coordinate which makes the matching super easy. The large star is stamped using Crushed Curry and die cut using the Stitched Stars Dies. (And the dies are carrying over to the Mini Catalog!!)  The small Gold Foil Stars are leftovers from a swap I did using the swirl die from this die set.  It has quite a few of the little stars that pop out and I made a dozen cards so I have a little container of them on my desk.  They were just the accent I needed.

Here is the card with the flap open:

The gold stripe in the DSP made the lining up of the two sections very easy!  And here is a view of the inside.

I have the complete directions for this gift card below the Hop Lineup.  Please check it out and see how easy it is.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you’ll hop along to the next stop on the blog hop, Sheryl Sharp at Sharp Notes by Sheryl. There’s lots of inspiration to be found in this group – and you don’t want to miss it!

Thank you for hopping along with us. If you get stuck during the Blog Hop, please use this line-up as a guide:

  1. Brian King at Stamp with Brian
  2. Jackie Beers at Blue Line Stamping
  3. Sheryl Sharp at Sharp Notes by Sheryl
  4. Shawn de Oliveira at Shawn Stamps
  5. Lynn Kolcun at Avery’s Owlery
  6. Sue Jackson at Just Peachy Stamping
  7. Linda Krueger at The Stamp Coach
  8. Candy Ford at Stamp Candy
  9. Julie DiMatteo at The Paper Pixie
  10. Robbye Hamilton at Miss Hammie’s Crafts

The basic card is 4 1/4 X 11 and it is scored at 2 and 5 1/2.  The 2″ is folded to the inside.  I used the 1″ Circle punch to do a half circle finger hole for the gift card.  Add Tear & Tape to the edges of the fold to secure.  By doing it at the edges you have plenty of room for the gift card.  Remember to place the gift card in the pocket as you are securing it though.  That gives you a little more room. The DSP for the pocket is 4 X 1 3/4.  Hint: hold this piece in position  on the pocket when you are punching the finger hole.

The flap is attached beneath the right side Cherry Cobbler and DSP.  The flap is 5 1/4 X 3 1/4, scored at 1/2.  The 1/2 is folded and centered under the Cherry Cobbler.  Then the Cherry Cobbler layer is adhered. The right side of DSP and Cherry Cobbler measure 4 X 1 3/4 and 3 3/4 X 1 1/2.  The center Whisper White sentiment layer is 4 X 3 1/4.

The front left is Cherry Cobbler and DSP cut to 4 X 3 1/3 and 3 3/4 X 3.  The focal point is the flap.  The gold foil layer is 4 1/2 X 3 and the DSP is 4 1/4 X 2 3/4.  The front sentiment is Gold foil at 2 1/4 X 1 3/4 and White at 2 X 1 5/8.

All of the supplies I used are listed below.  And don’t forget the newly refreshed Clearance Rack and the End of Year Closeout sales.

A Quick Gift Card / Tag

I made this little gift tag for a party recently.  It would also be a great little gift enclosure or a RAK card.  It is Quick, Easy, and Cute!

I made this one with a gift tag in mind, so I added a string of Whisper White Baker’s Twine.  It is the same size as a gift card or RAK 3 X 3 card.

I broke out a carry over from the last Holiday Catalog, Dashing Deer.  Remember that beautiful deer we all used last year?  This little deer is in the set as well.  The DSP is from Toile Tidings.

The card base is cut 6 X 3 with DSP cut 2 3/4 X 2 3/4, and the white cut to 2 1/2 X 2 1/2.  I used Real Red Ink for everything.  It cannot get much easier than this!
