Joyful LIfe

I made today’s card for a friend’s birthday card.  The whimsical nature of the animals are just so darn cute!  All of the animals in this Joyful LIfe stamp set are adorable.  And there are great sentiments as well.

Stampin' Up!, Joyful Life, Penguin Playmates, Highland Grosgrain Ribbon, Double Oval Punch, Jackie Beers

Stamps

I mentioned at the top of the page that this image is from the Joyful Life stamp set.   This set is so much fun!  Where else would you find a bear riding a bicycle with a bunny in the basket?  The look of the blowing leaves is just an added bonus.

And the sentiments in this set fit each image as well.  If this sentiment looks familiar to you, I used it on the card I shared with you Monday.  You can see that card HERE.  The sentiment almost has a more holiday feel to it on Monday’s card.  An excellent sentiment and so wonderful that it can be used for a variety of reasons!

Paper and Color

The DSP used here is from Sale-A-Bration and from the Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper.  This is my favorite sheet from that pack.  I love all of the colors. My friend’s favorite color is purple.  So this paper fit perfectly and allowed me to add it again in the bear’s sweater.

The finishing touch is more of the purple.  I used the Highland Heather Grosgrain Ribbon.  This ribbon is so pretty.  There is a bit of a silver like sparkle to it.  For the finishing touch, I punched the sentiment using the Double Oval Punch.  This is the larger of the two ovals on the one punch.  Of course it had to have a tiny bit of bling.  The rhinestone is a 2021-2023 In Color Jewel.  So it is the Freesia Rhinestone!

Heartwarming Friend

I have used another stamp from the Joyful Life stamp set today.  This is a wonderful stamp set in the Mini Catalog that I think has really been overlooked.  I hope you will give this set a second look.

Stampin' Up!, Heartwarming Hugs, Joyful Life, Granny Apple Green, Jackie Beers

Stamps

This little pig is just adorable in my book!  He could be used for most Fall, Winter, and Holiday cards.  One of my Club ladies even said he would make for a good Get Well Card.  That would be a nice one.  You cannot see as well in the photo, but I added some Wink of Stella to his glasses lenses.  I speak from experience in knowing they would be foggy or sparkly due to the cold!

The sentiment has quickly become a favorite of mine.  Friends are always important, but I think we appreciate them more as we get older.  I know I do.  And again, the sentiment could work for all of those occasions as well as some others.

Dies

It seemed to me that this card needed some different shapes for the focal areas.  I looked at punches and Dies and came up with these two.  The pig is cut using the Hippo & Friends Dies.  There are some wonderful layering shapes in that pack.  And the sentiment is from the Stitched Rectangles Dies.  I played around with the arrangement on the front of the card and finally decided on this layout.

Paper

This gorgeous DSP is one of the Returning Favorites of the Mini Catalog.  It is the Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series paper.  I think this pattern is so pretty and different.  The green I chose to pair with it is Granny Apple Green.  That is not the color in the paper.  But there is just the little dot showing and when paired with the Granny Apple Green, it makes that little dot pop!

For the finishing touch I used a single Red Rhinestone.  That lone pop of color on the White was the perfect finishing touch.  I like to add a bit of shadow to some of the single stamps when I can.  If you can see in the photo, there is a bit of Light Pool Party Stampin’ Blend that I squiggled at the piggy’s feet.  That is my go to for adding shadow.  I love that color!

Fall Slim Card

I have been working on a Skinny card for a card swap.  It has been very difficult getting the layout I want.  There have been some good results and some not so good ones.  Today is one of the good results that I liked but decided not to use in the swap.  So I thought I would share it with you.

Stampin' Up!, Gorgeous Leaves, Pretty Pumpkins, Jackie Beers

Stamps

There are two really awesome stamp sets used on this card.  The first is the Pretty Pumpkins stamps.  This trio of pumpkins is my favorite from that set.  And it comes as a Bundle, I just didn’t use the dies.  The second stamp set is the Gorgeous Leaves.  It is also a Bundle, and I did use two of the Dies.

I love how well these two stamp sets work together.  Fall leaves and pumpkins are like Peanut Butter and Jelly!  They just go together.  The sentiment is such a sweet one and is from the Pretty Pumpkin stamp set. I just love it.

Colors and Finishes

Normally I would say Paper instead of Color, but I did not use any Designer Series Paper on this card.  That is very unusual for me.  I did choose some of my favorites of the colors I think of for Fall.  They are Cinnamon Cider and Soft Succulent for the card base and layer.

The stamped leaves are more of the great Fall colors.  They are Merry Merlot, Cinnamon Cider with some speckles of Pale Papaya.

To finish the card I went to the Annual Catalog for some ribbon.  It is from the Flowers For Every Season Ribbon Combo.  The gingham is actually Just Jade instead of Soft Succulent, but the color matches very well.  The final touch was two die cut leaves from Merry Merlot cardstock.  These dies are so intricate (The name of the dies are Intricate Leaves!) that it really pops against the white cardstock.

A Dahlia Smile

Since Sale-A-Bration is winding down I thought I would share two of my favorite picks in one card.  It is a little bit of an odd mix of colors.  But the different patterns seem to work.

Stampin' Up!, Delicate Dahlias, Forever Fern, Peaceful Prints, Jackie Beers

Stamps

The Stamp set I chose as a favorite from Sale-A-Bration is the Delicate Dahlias.  Yes, it is one of the $100.00 product purchase requirement, but it is really nice.  The flower is a two step flower.  I chose Bumblebee Ink as the outline and Pale Papaya as the inside.  The leaves are two step as well.  They are Garden Green for the outline and Soft Sea Foam for the inside.  Those colors came from the Green DSP piece.

Delicate Dahlias has a couple of great sentiments included in the set.  However, I chose to go with the Smile sentiment from Forever Fern.  It is stamped directly onto the DSP.  That is something that packs a bit of a punch, and I generally forget to do it.

Paper

I chose the two pieces of the Peaceful Prints Designer Series Paper before I decided on anything else.  Not normally how I begin a card!  I love the tan plaid and wanted to use it.  The base of the card is Bumblebee cardstock, which matches the dahlia.  The Garden Green piece has flecks of a lighter green that led to the Soft Sea Foam leaves color.

The Peaceful Prints Designer Series Paper is also from the Sale-A-Bration Catalog.  It is one of the $50.00 product purchase choices.  The paper matches the Peaceful Deer Bundle in the Mini Catalog.  The Deer Punch fits the pages of Deers on the paper.

Feels Like Home

I am showcasing one of the Free Sale-A-Bration stamp sets today.  It is one that is Free with a $50.00 product order.  The Feels Like Home stamp set is a sweet set to have on hand.  And if you are like me and love to color, then it is a perfect one to get.

Stamps

I love this little scene with the bicycle, flowers, and what appears to be, an older building and door.  As soon as I saw this scene I thought of my trip to Amsterdam a few years ago.  There were flowers everywhere and more bicycles than I would have imagined.

This layout is a bit of a “clean” one from my normal cards.  I did not intend for it to be that way.  But the stamp and the sweet sentiment sort of decided for me.

Colors

To bring out all of the images in the stamp, it required quite a bit of color.  I thought a purple would go great with the Crumb Cake card base and the brown of the door.  It needed to pop a bit.   The 1/8″ border you see  of Highland Heather is enough to pull the flower pots and bicycle flowers out.  .  All of the Stampin’ Blends I used are listed in the supply list.  I will say that this is one of the shortest supplies lists I have ever done, with the exception of the Stampin’ Blends!!

Tips for Pals June Blog Hop

Hello, welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month our Design Team’s theme is “Fun Ways to Use Your Stampin’ Up! Products” where we show our favorite product tips. We hope you enjoy and will be inspired by them! Don’t forget to leave comments! We love hearing from you. At the end of my post, you will find the full line-up to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

There are way too many products to choose from for this Tips blog hop.  I finally narrowed it down to Punches.  One of my favorite ways to use a punch is to make a “negative”.  I have two cards to share using this technique.  I hope you like it.

For this card I Punched three of the Medium Daisy Punch from a piece of Basic White cardstock.   I also stamped two sentiments from the Daisy Lane stamp set.  The layers are a Melon Mambo base and Basic White beneath a beautiful sheet of Melon Mambo from the Brights Collection 6X6 Designer Series Paper stack.  The punched layer is then added on top using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The finishing touches are to add a punched daisy from Melon Mambo cardstock onto the front layer with a Glue Dot only beneath the center of the flower.  I also added a Playing With Patterns Resin Dot to the center of the flower.

I love how the gorgeous DSP shows through the punched daisies!  Here is another card using the same products with the DSP as the punched out layer.

This is a 4 X 4 card using the same products.  It is a different sheet of the Melon Mambo Brights DSP though.  This time I layered the White and punched from the DSP.  I also added a two layer flower using the punched DSP flower and a White flower from the first card.  The petals are alternated and the two pieced together in the center with a Glue Dot.

To finish this one, I added the same Playing With Patterns Resin Dots to both the negative flower and the double layer flower.  The sentiment is from the Daisy Lane stamp set, as was the first card.  This time I used the Double Oval Punch, the larger oval, to punch the sentiment.  It is adhered using Stampin’ Dimensionals

I love the depth and dimension that using the “negative” gives to the cards.  If this is not a new idea for you, I hope it will inspire you to give this old trick and new look!  Both of these cards are quick and simple to do.  They would qualify as #simplestamping as it is simply Paper, Ink, Stamp, and a punch plus an embellishment.  And there is only one ink color to go with it.

More inspiration awaits! Use the Blog Hop Line-up below to visit the rest of this month’s Design Team. My fellow Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Mark your calendars for our next blog hop on July 14th for “Wonderful Cards from the Garden” when our Design Team creates a project with flowers or scenes from the garden. Don’t miss the fun! Until then, have fun in your craft space.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you enjoyed today’s project and will come back.  I do read and reply to all of the comments individually.  They mean a lot to me.  Please reach out if you have a question.

Keep Calm and Keep On Stamping,

Jackie
