Pick of the Patch

The September – December Mini Catalog is live today!!  Woohoo!!  I have my order ready to go for my Paper Shares and product I did not get on my Pre-order.  Hopefully you are as excited as I am.

Today’s card  is a new Punch Bundle from the Mini Catalog.  With a couple of new extras added in.  The weather is not saying Fall where I am, but for many it is right around the corner.

Stampin' Up!, Pick of the patch, stars at night dies, abundant Beauty Decorative Masks, Blending Brushes, Jackie Beers

Background

This card features a variety of products.  But one of the first I notice, besides the sign, is the background.  So we are beginning there.  I created the background by using a mask from the Abundant Beauty Decorative Masks.  This set has layering stencils, or masks, to create a sunflower scene, plus this  Fall , and a herringbone looking one.  Deciding on colors and then how they will blend is the hard part.

For this background I used Daffodil Delight lightly all over, then added some Old Olive, and finally some Copper Clay.  I did not want it to be too dark.  But maybe should have added some Blackberry Bliss to pop some.  The best part is the stencil cleans in just a second under running water.  I was impressed!

Stamp Bundle

The stamp set used is the Pick of The Patch.  And it has a matching Punch!  Yay on the punch because they are my favorite.  Both of the pumpkins, stems, and leaves are all in the punch.  So easy peasy there.  I stamped the pumpkins with Pumpkin Pie Ink and then filled in some shadows with the Copper Clay Stampin’ Blends.  The leaves and stem are stamped with Old Olive.

The sentiment is from the stamp set as well.  It is stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and is stamped on a piece of the All About Autumn Designer Series Paper.  I thought a wooden sign was perfect for the pumpkin patch.

Dies

The sign is cut using a Die from the Stars At Night Die set.  I love the beautiful stars in that stamp set and dies, which is a hybrid by the way.  But the shape of this die is what really sold me.  And yes I know that is silly!  For me a great shape that fits a large number of sentiments is a must have!!

The card is finished with a scattering of the Adhesive Backed Speckled Dots.  The Copper one was placed as a nail holding up the sign.  And a few green ones are scattered.  To finish a bit more, I added some flecks from the Copper Clay Stampin’ Write Marker.

Thank you for stopping by today!!!  Please reach out if you have any needs regarding the Mini Catalog.

Yay Fall !

Here in Georgia the weather has been hinting at Fall but then leaning back towards Summer.  Finally it seems to have decided on Fall.  To celebrate this cooler weather,, I made a Fall card to share.  A pairing of the Leaf Label leaves with the Alphabest Bundle worked wonderfully.

Stampin' Up!, Alphabest, Best Label Punch, Silver Threaded Twine, Celebrate Everything DSP, Leaf Labels, Jackie Beers

Leaves

These great leaves are the Leaf Label & Amber Gem Combo pack.  The gems have been used on a variety of projects, but not today.  Today the leaves gave me the idea for a banner.  It began with one leaf and the wording, When a couple of them were stuck together, I had the thought of a banner.  And here we are!  My banner could have used a little more definition on the leaves to separate them more.  But I was so excited with the idea that I just went with it.  The string is the fun Silver Threaded Twine from the Mini Catalog also.

Stamp and Punch Bundle

The wonderful Alphabest stamp set has probably gotten more use than any of the other alphabet stamps I have owned.  The size is perfect and the fact there is a matching punch is just perfect.  Punches are a favorite tool of mine and this one is special.  It looks like a mini ticket, and is simply a great size.  And Punch Bundles are one of the best bang for your buck bundles.  To create the banner I simply stamped all of the letters on a strip of Basic White with Crushed Curry Ink.  Then I punched away!

Paper

This fun paper is from the Host Rewards Celebrate Everything Designer Series Paper.  These bright colors are so happy!  So I went with more bright colors for the card base and layer.  When using colors from the paper, you cannot go wrong.  Even if they are colors that you would not usually picture together.  If they are together in the print then they work.  That is part of the appeal of Stampin’ Up!s Designer Series paper!

Finishes

With the fun paper and banner, it did not require but a little bling to finish off this card.  By using the 2021-2023 Opal Rounds, I had a couple of colors that matched the paper.  With a generous spreading of gems, the card was complete.

Fall Floral

Today’s card is a second Fall Leaves / Floral challenge.  This one is a from the garden flower arrangement with a mix of Fall colors.

Stampin' Up!, Jar of Flowers, Hello Harvest, Dragonfly Garden, Distressed Gold Specialty Paper, Jackie Beers

Today’s card is for the Make My Monday Challenge.  It is Fall Floral / Fauna.  You can join in with the challenge by clicking on the link and adding your version of this theme.  Everyone is welcome to join in the fun.

Stamps

The Jar of Flowers stamp set is one that I have neglected lately.  And it is one that I do Love!  The various uses for the jar are many, but I particularly love the different bouquets that can be added.  For this card I chose the sunflowers.  They seem to be a Fall flower for me.  Plus I love the purple flowers for a bit more Fall look.

To help cover the joining of the flowers to the jar, I added a single, small sunflower.  A second one is added down on the sentiment.  These are from the Hello Harvest stamp set and are simply fussy cut and added with a glue dot.  The one on the sentiment seems to be the perfect embellishment, which surprised me!

Paper and Ink

With knowing I was using Fall colors for the flowers, I wanted to tie in the blue of the jar in the paper choice.  So I went with Bermuda Bay.  The outline of the jar is Bermuda Bay with Pool Party as the inside water.  But the star of this card is the Distressed Gold Specialty Paper.   Not only is it beautiful on it’s own, but it seems to draw the color from the sunflowers also.  And I used a little scrap leftover piece behind the sentiment.  It can be difficult to use pretty DSP for so little to show, but this tiny sentiment really did not put a dent in my leftovers of this great paper.

A Touch of Fall

The card I am sharing today may have you wishing for Fall and cooler weather.  Showcased are the Leaf Embossing Folder and Leaf Labels.

Stampin' Up!, Leaf Embossing, Leaf Label, Ringed With Nature, Rings of Love, Jackie Beers

Leaf Labels

Nothing could be simpler than using these Leaf Labels as a focal layer on a card.  These beauties come already cut, and even have a tag hole in place to use them as a tag.  The hole is at the top point ,where I have strategically placed an Amber Gem.  Speaking of the Amber Gems, they are included with the Leaf Labels!  It is a two for one pairing.  All I had to do was stamp the sentiment on the leaf and it was ready to go.

Designer Series Paper

This beautiful and bright piece of DSP is from the Sale-A-Bration paper named Rings of Love Designer Series Paper.  It is FREE with a $50.00 order.  By using just a strip, it goes a really long way in creating some beautiful cards for Fall.  And all of the colors are bright ones.  That is my choice for most card colors.  Plus the bright plays perfectly to the Kraft paper of the Leaf Label.

Background and Embossing

The background of this card was created from the DSP of course.  All of the colors were pulled from that little strip, as was the decision on the Embossing Folder.  Crushed Curry was used to show off the beautiful leaves of the Leaf Fall 3D Embossing Folder.  They blow softly across the card.  Actually it is a large space folder so you can move your cardstock around a little to place the leaves in the best location.  To compliment all of the layers, I went with Parakeet Party as the card base.  The brightness offsets the Kraft leaf and ties in to the DSP colors.

Hello Harvest

My project today showcases one of the new Fall stamp sets.  It is the Hello Harvest Bundle and is perfect for anything Fall!

Stampin' Up!, Hello Harvest, Rings of Love, Very Best Trio Punch, Sahara Sand Ribbon, Jackie Beers

Stamp Set and Dies

This card has a few different things of interest. But since the star of the show is the stamp and die bundle, we will will start there.  This is the Hello Harvest Bundle.  It contains the Hello Harvest Stamp set and the Rustic Pumpkin Die set.  Both are great alone or together.  My favorite of them are the ones used on today’s card.  They are the pumpkin with the sunflowers on top.  It is as if we were using the pumpkin as a vase.

Both the pumpkin and the sunflowers were stamped using Early Espresso Ink and then colored with Stampin’ Blends.  The Pumpkin didn’t really require any coloring.  And the extra single leaf is included in both the stamp set and the die set.  Adding the single leaf was to pull more of the Poppy Parade color into the layers.

DSP and Fold

The DSP of this card is a perfect match to the stamps.  Between the colors and the images you could not find a better pairing.  And the best part of this paper is that it is FREE!  Yes, it is one of the Sale-A-Bration choices.  The Rings of Love Designer Series Paper not only coordinates wit the Rings of Love stamp set in the Mini Catalog, but is also one of the SAB items.  With a $50.00 order you can choose this as a Free gift.

The fold I have used looks similar to a Book Fold, but opens fully.  The DSP piece is simply added behind the 1″ front flap.  It allows for you to see the reverse side of the DSP when the card is opened. And to get more pieces from a 12 X 12 piece of DSP it is cut 4 X 5 1/2.  That is only 1/2″ less than normal but gets you two additional pieces from a 12X12 sheet.  The addition of the ribbon covers the inside of the card where the DSP and card flap meet.  This allows for a “cleaner” finish.

Punch

Were you wondering what I used to create the pretty details on the Pumpkin background layer?  It is really pretty and quite different from any corner makers we have.  Best of all is that this came from a punch!  It is the new Very Best Trio Punch.  The punch was all that I used, but it comes as a Bundle with the Very Best Occasions Stamp set.  The set is only sentiments and has a variety.  We all love punches and great sentiments, or at least I do.  So this is a must have from the Mini Catalog in my opinion.

Stampin' Up! Pretty Pumpkins, Harvest Meadow, Thanksgiving, Jackie Beers

Paper and Colors

I have been using all of the deeper and brighter Fall colors lately.  So I wanted to go with a softer look today.  The Boldness of the Bumblebee cardstock pairs well with the softer green of Soft Succulent in the piece of Harvest Meadow Designer Series Paper I picked .  For an even softer touch, I used Soft Sea Foam for the green of the vines.  To pair with that, the Pumpkins are stamped with Smoky Slate and then colored using Pale Papaya Stampin’ Blends.  The piece needed another spot of brightness to match the Bumblebee.  So I colored the flower bloom from the vine with Daffodil Delight and added a 2021-2023 In Color Jewel.

Stamps

The stamps I used are all from the Pretty Pumpkins set.  Being able to make a card from just one set is something I love!  The gorgeous font from the Gather Together looks beautiful with the shine of the Bumblebee Ink.  I stamped the three pumpkin image twice.  Once on the main piece and another on a scrap of White cardstock.  They are all colored the same, but I fussy cut the end ones from the extra stamped piece.  For a bit of fun I added them to the corners of the focal layer.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you’ll hop along to the next stop on the blog hop, Lynn Kolcun at Avery’s Owlery. There’s lots of inspiration to be found in this group – and you don’t want to miss it!
