Summer Wreath

Sometimes we see stamp and die bundles and , at least I do, think “that’s a lot of pieces”.  This bundle I am using today was one of those.  Then I looked at it closer and told myself how wrong I had originally been.  This is a winner!!

I said this was a Summer wreath, but it could very easily be a Spring one.  I adore this Arrange A Wreath Bundle.  It has elements that can be used for different seasonal wreaths.  I used it last week in a blog hop , along with items from the Warm Hugs Bundle, to make a Christmas Wreath.  You can see that post HERE.

This wreath is a pretty quick one.  I stamped the base wreath in Mossy Meadow Ink.  The die cut wreath is cut from Old Olive using the Wreath Builder dies.  The bow is part of the dies as well.  The flowers are stamped from the set and punched using the Small Bloom Punch.

The card base is 8 1/2 X 4 1/2, folded in half.  The Whisper White layer is 4 X 4.  A really quick cutting for multiple cards!

Thank you for stopping by today.  Please come back tomorrow for another new project.

Fern Congratulations

You know I adore the Forever Fern Bundle of products.  I have used it several times.  Well, today  is one more.  I needed a special Congratulations card and went back to these awesome definition stamps.

I rarely  make a White on White card.  I did today, and actually made another one for my club cards.  I will be sharing that one later in the week.  But for this card, I felt the gorgeous colors I used to stamp, plus the beautiful DSP , needed a clean slate behind it.  The base card is Thick Whisper White, and the layer is regular weight Whisper White raised with Dimensionals.

I used the Forever Greenery Designer Series Paper as the grounding spot.  It is cut using the Stitched Rectangle Dies.  In person , the stitching detail around the edges shows up a bit more than here.  For the sentiment, I wanted a really pretty “Congratulations”.  I found this one in Celebration of Tags.  It is a new set in the annual catalog that matches the Trio of Tags Dies ,which carried over.  I didn’t use the matching dies, as I wanted just a bit larger background.  So I used one of my favorites the Stitched So Sweetly Dies.  Not only do I love the shape, but they have the stitching around the edge to match the Stitched Rectangle.

For the greenery, I used a variety of greens.  I used Pear Pizzaz, Just Jade, and Pretty Peacock for the various types of leaves.  I then used Soft Sea Foam with the splatter stamp from Forever Fern.  It is really soft and that was just enough splatter around the card.  I stamped it twice after each inking, so some spots are lighter than others.

Thank you for stopping in today.  I hope you had a relaxing weekend and were able to get some crafting in.  Remember that Bonus Days are over halfway gone.  If you have items still on your wish list, get them now and have some Free money for the Mini Catalog debut in August!

Your Dreams

I hope you enjoyed yesterday’s blog hop!  It was my first Christmas card of the year.  I will try to do one every now and then, but I mainly will be sticking to summer into Fall for right now.  It’s way too hot to be thinking of Christmas here in the south.

Today’s card is a retirement card for a friend.  Everything , even the sentiment, would work for other purposes as well.  I hope you like it.

This stamp set is the Sailing Home set.  It is a carry over in the annual catalog.  I love it for the stamps, but also that it works for anyone who loves the water and sailing.   I wanted a “water” color for this card, so went with Coastal Cabana as the base.  I then found the perfect compliment of DSP in the Brights 6X6 Designer Series Paper.  The pattern on the paper works for so many things.

The boats are stamped using Smoky Slate Ink.  The bit of water beneath each one is colored using the Light Pool Party Stampin’ Blend.  I use it for various shadows on items.  It is just enough color.

The sentiment layer is stamped in Coastal Cabana Ink.  I die cut the sentiment using a die from the Smooth Sailing Dies.  They used to be a bundle with the Sailing Home stamp set, but are not longer.  They are just available individually.  To get the Bermuda Bay layer behind the sentiment, I did a little trick that I have used a few times.  I flipped the die over, and used a pencil to draw around the outside of it.  I then fussy cut, carefully, just outside the line.  (For me, just outside the line is easier than trying to cut on the line.)  It may not be perfect, but I love the look it gives when you do not have a companion back layer.

The finishing touch was a few of the Epoxy clear dots.  Just a bit of water splash in my mind!

Thank you for stopping in today!  I really appreciate it and thank you for the nice compliments yesterday.  If you missed the hop, here is the link to my card and you can hop around from there.  Click Here

Friendly Smile

I hope you enjoyed yesterday’s blog hop.  There was a variety of “from the garden” projects.  And today I have a fun fold with more garden foliage to share.

This is a tri fold card that is much easier to make than it would appear.  Here is a view of the inside as well.

The DSP is the Forever Greenery Designer Series paper.  I used both sides of the same sheet for this project.  The sentiment and stamps are from the Forever Fern Stamp set.

The card base is 5 1/2 X 8 1/2.  It is scored at 2 1/8, and 4 1/4.  To get the angle cut, I placed the card on the Paper Trimmer as it would be when opened.  With the top of the center score line on the cutting track towards the center of the platform, place the left side bottom corner at 2 1/2.  Cut from the edge of that left side to the center scored line.  The DSP is cut with the same idea.  The center fold has the same side of the DSP on it’s front and back.  The sections that are stamped on have the opposite side beneath them.

The stamping is done in Granny Apple Green for the foliage.   The splatter is in Shaded Spruce but stamped off once.  The sentiment is stamped also in Shaded Spruce.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you enjoyed this fun fold.  Please let me know if you have any questions.

Garden Flowers for Pals Blog Hop

Hello, welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month our Design Team is showcasing “Gifts From the Garden.” We hope you enjoy and will be inspired by them! Don’t forget to leave comments! We love hearing from you. At the end of my post, you will find the full line-up to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

I took the theme of our hop literally for today’s project.  I made a flower bouquet using the Jar of Flowers Bundle.

My background is from the Brights 6X6 Designer Series Paper.  I chose to go with the wood look in Poppy Parade.  The Granny Apple Green is also used in the bouquet and works perfectly with the brightness of the DSP.

I love the Jar punch and the Mason Jar Shaker Domes.  They remind me of the old Ball or Mason jars that we used for a variety of things when I was a child.  They were always the vase of choice for pretty garden flowers.  The Shaker Domes really add the look of the real jar of flowers.  I did stamp behind the dome to give the water illusion, as well as added the stems from the flowers.  I did not add any shaker items to my flowers.

The flowers are from the Jar of Flowers Bundle as well.  I stamped, colored, and then fussy cut the flower arrangement.  The flowers are raised using Stampin’ Dimensionals for some added depth.  The flowers at the top of the jar are curved a bit.  I used my bone folder to bend them a little so it looks like they are hanging over the edge of the rim.   I also added a few of the Gilded Gems to the center of the sunflowers.

The finishing touch is the linen thread wrapped around the jar.  I added the bow to hold the tag.  The tag is from the Ornate Frames dies, although you cannot really see the tag top from the photo.  My “Love” is from the Field of Flowers stamp set.

More inspiration awaits! Use the Blog Hop Line-up below to visit the rest of this month’s Design Team. My fellow Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Mark your calendars for our next blog hop, which will be August 12th when our theme is “My Happiest Season.” The Design Team will showcase projects inspired by their favorite seasonal time of the year. Don’t miss the fun! Until then, please stay safe and have fun in your craft room

Ornate Garden

The Ornate Garden bundles and Designer Series Paper were available as a sneak peek before the annual catalog debuted last month.  I have used them in several posts.  Today’s card is one of the beautiful gold embossed floral pieces from the DSP.

This card was a fun one to make.  I got to do a lot of coloring!   I used a variety of Stampin’ Blends for my fun coloring.  And I decided after adding the ornate border, that I wasn’t even going to give this card a front sentiment.  I believe it stands alone quite well.

The ornate background is the Ornate Layers Dies.  I die cut it from Gold Foil paper.  The ornate layer has a center piece as well.  So I cut my colored piece down to the correct size and simply adhered it with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Sometimes it is difficult to adhere to the foil papers.

The base of this card is the new Just Jade.  I am growing more and more fond of this color.  It seems to have worked with every color I have placed with it..  Woohoo on this new color!

I rarely do a No Sentiment card, but am happy with this one.  I hope you like it as well.  Please come back tomorrow for the Pals July Blog Hop!  We will go live at 0530 ET.
