Harvest Place Setting

I used to love making table favors and place settings cards for holiday meals.  Now we tend to not get together with as many people at one time, so I haven’t made these in a while.  Today I am bringing them back and with a bit of a twist.

Stampin' Up!, Country Home, Gilded Autumn, Brushed Foil, Jackie Beers

This project is a combination of place setting and utensil holder.  I did not add a name, but I would place a smaller layer in the center of the DSP with the person’s name.  And before I get started on these particulars, I want to say that I have found a Wonderful Thing!!!!  The sentiment is stamped with the Cinnamon Cider Ink.  To me anyway, it looks like it is stamped in a metallic ink.  I have used this ink with Bronze and Gold and it matches perfectly. I think that is a great find!  Be sure to try it yourself.

Ok, now on to the directions.  The holder is actually the same size as a pull out card that I have made.  And if you were purchasing the utensil holders, they are a tad narrower.  But I like having the extra bit of room because the card stock doesn’t flex as well as some of the fabric holders do.

The sweet sentiment is from the Country Home stamp set.  I love every stamp in this set.  The base of the project is Mint Macaron and cut to 4 1/4 X 11 and is scored at 5 1/2 and 10.  Fold and burnish both folds.  The small 1″ fold, folds to the outside and I have it taped down.  On the long end, I rounded the corners with the Detailed Trio Punch.

The layers are Brushed Metallic card stock (OMG this paper is beautiful!!!) and the Gilded Autumn Designer Series Paper.  I stamped on Very Vanilla with the Cinnamon Cider Ink and punched the ends with the Lovely Label Punch.

I had purchased some beautiful napkins last year after Thanksgiving for just such a project.  And I have No Idea where they are!!!  So I used a piece of old DSP, which is actually similar to the napkins, to represent the napkin.  Also, by having a bit more room inside the fold, I have room for a little treat.  I added a Merci Chocolate in the center.  The pretty foil wrapping on those matches the theme as well.

Thank you so much for stopping by today.  I hope you enjoyed yesterday’s blog hop.  I have directions for today’s project just below.  And the supplies are listed at the very bottom of the  post.

Directions:

  • base is 4 1/4 X 11, scored at 5 1/2 and 10.  Fold and burnish the scored lines.
  • Fold the small section to the front and secure with tape or glue.
  • The sentiment layer is 3 3/4 X 3/4 for the foil and 3 3/4 X 5/8 for the Vanilla
  • Use the Lovely Label punch to punch each end of the sentiment.
  • The front layers are 4 X 3 3/4 and 3 3/4 X 3 1/2
  • Place the layers on the front and the sentiment.
  • Add Tear & Tape to the inside edge of the front section.  Place the tape against the edge of the paper.
  • Lay your silverware inside the pocket and then adhere the sides.  Otherwise it is extremely tight and everything will not fit inside.

Candy , Yes

Halloween is coming up quickly and I have seen the stores stocking up on the candy aisles.  That seems to be the main focus.  And for all of the children, I am sure it is the focus.  It always was for me, and to be truthful…..it still is!

The sentiment is from the set Tags, Tags, Tags in the Annual Catalog.  The matching dies are a carry over from last year’s holiday catalog.  The sentiment says it all!!  I related this card to Halloween in the opening, but it would fit with a birthday also.  Especially with this paper.

The DSP is from the same pack as I used on Tuesday’s card for the Pal’s Blog Hop.  You can see it HERE.  The DSP is the Artistry Blooms Designer Series Paper and is awesome.  It is variegated colors on some sheets and splotches and splatters on others.  But they are all Bright Colors, which are my favorites.

I stamped the sentiment in Mango Melody and die cut using the matching Trio of Tags dies.  I couldn’t decide what to use a backing and started looking at punches.  I found the perfect fit, and I hope you agree, with the Everyday Label Punch.  A pleasant surprise!

The finishing touches are the ribbon, which is a beautiful ribbon and easy to work with.  It is from the Flowers For Every Season Ribbon Combo.  The second finisher are the Rhinestones.  I spread a few around just for some shine.

I do want to mention that I used the new Magnetic Platform.  WooHoo!!!  It was worth the wait.  The top is covering a Full Sheet of magnet.  So no more of your die moving when it is being pulled by one of the magnet circles.  Also, the top is a self-healing mat, and also you use it in place of the bottom cutting mat.  A game changer there!

Thank you for stopping by today.  Please come back on Monday for another new project!  I hope you have a great weekend.

Awesome for September Pals Blog Hop

Hello, welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month our Design Team created projects where “It’s the Sentiment that Counts.” We hope you enjoy and will be inspired by them! Don’t forget to leave comments! We love hearing from you. At the end of my post, you will find the full line-up to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

The theme of this month’s blog hop is perfect for me.  I love sentiments.  My favorites are mixed fonts,  different sizes, sayings that are for occasions, as well as some that are just for fun.  Today’s card is in the Just For Fun category with a side of encouragement.

And if you cannot tell from my usual cards, I LOVE Bright Colors!!  The mix of this AWESOME sentiment from the Ridiculously Awesome stamp set with the brightness of Artistry Blooms Designer Series Paper is a perfect match in my opinion!

The sentiment is heat embossed using White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  It is stamped using Versamark Ink on Granny Apple Green card stock.  The sentiment is die cut using the border from Nature’s Thoughts Dies.  I love the detail around the edges.

The added addition of the butterflies shows my love of the DSP.  I had a strip left from cutting the paper and wanted a way to use it.  I chose the little butterfly from the same die set and cut it so each one showed different colors from the DSP.  And of course, you have to have some Bling!!  So each butterfly received a little rhinestone so they could shine a little more.

My card is not at all technically difficult.  This is a bright and fun card that I hope makes everyone simply SMILE!!

More inspiration awaits! Use the Blog Hop Line-up below to visit the rest of this month’s Design Team. My fellow Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Mark your calendars for our next blog hop on October 14th when our theme is “Tag, You’re It!” Participants will showcase tags or 3D items that will be great for gifts for any occasion. Don’t miss the fun! Until then, please stay safe and have fun in your craft room.

Ornate Daisy

I have a pretty and quick card to share today.  You know how much I love Stampin’ Up!’s Designer Series paper.  Today’s card is all about one of those DSP packs.  I chose to highlight the Ornate Garden Designer Series Paper and the Ornate Style stamp set, as well as the Gold Foil which coordinates.

I love the simple, yet elegant, look of this card.  This piece of the DSP is my favorite from the pack.  I paired it with Mint Macaron card stock and a piece of the Gold Foil to coordinate with the foil in the paper.

The daisy is from the Ornate Style stamp set.  That single daisy is simply perfect all alone.  I chose not to add a sentiment on the front of this card.  I believe the simplicity of this card would work well for a number of occasions.  So this way, I just add the sentiment needed to the inside and I’m ready to go.

Here are the measurements for this card:

  • base card is 8 1/2 X 5 1/2, scored and folded in half
  • white layer is 5 1/4 X 4
  • DSP layer is 5 X 3 3/4
  • Foil layer is 2 1/4 X 3 1/4
  • Daisy layer is 2 X 3

I don’t know how you are, but I love having ready to go cards on hand.  I appreciate you stopping in today.  I have all of the supplies used listed at the bottom of the page.

Below is the information on Starter Kit Special for September.  I actually began my time with Stampin’ Up! as simply a Stampin’ Up! Enthusiast.  I joined for the discount to support my wish list!!  I stayed in that position for about ten years, then decided to try to make a business from it.  Either of these choices are fine with me and with Stampin’ Up!.  The choice is all yours to make with no pressure to even continue after purchasing the Starter Kit.  The Kit is actually just the Best Bundle available!  So I would love to talk with you about joining my Team.  In the meantime, read through the add ons for the September Special below.

Grateful

Before I get started telling you about today’s project, I want to share a few things that begin today in my Stampin’ Up! World!

First, the Clearance Rack is refreshing today!!!!  If you click on my Shop button in the menu, it will take you to the store.

Second, Stampin’ Up! has an awesome new Starter Kit promotion beginning today.  I have all of the details listed towards the botom of the page.  But I will tell you a bit of it  here.  The Starter Kit is for Stampin’ Up! Enthusiasts who love our products.  That is the first step.  if you decide later on that you want to make a business of it, WooHOO!  But there is NO PUSH  to do more than just be a lover of SU!  This special is the regular $99.00 for $125.00 worth of products of your choice.…..PLUS you get the Queen Anne’s Lace stamp set as well as the So Much Love stamp set.….PLUS enough pre-cut card stock to make 16 cards.  That is a great deal to me.  And I would love to answer any of your questions, as well as have you join my team.

Last but not least:  the new Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine is available to customers beginning today!  I have it and it is AMAZING!  I love everything about it.  (And…it can be added to the Starter Kit!!!).  Also, the magnetic platform becomes available for order today as well.  This new magnetic plate is a solid sheet of magnet, and is self healing!  That is a game changer in both regards.   I cannot wait to get my hands on that!

Okay, now about today’s project.  The title says it all.  I am so Grateful for everything, and card making and the friends I have made are high on the list.   This card is a quick and easy one that to me has the perfect sentiment.

I am following the sketch from Case This Sketch #387.  I love sketch challenges as the base for my cards.  Here is the sketch.

The sentiment layer is from the Celebration Tidings stamp set.  It is a photopolymer set so it is very easy to line the pieces up.  That layer is three separate stamps.  The pieces are colored using Stampin’ Blends.

The background stamps are from the Gather Together stamp set.  It was one of the Returning Favorites sets from last year’s holiday catalog.  I stamped the pair of pumpkins a couple of times and colored with Stampin’ Blends also.  The splatter is out of the same set.

I used Just Jade Stampin’ Blends for most of the leaves.  So it was the perfect addition between the two layers of white for the base of the card.

I have listed all of the products at the bottom of the page.  Just below here is the extra information regarding the Starer Kit promotion.

Additional Products: In addition to the regular starter kit (for $99.00, new recruits choose $125 -worth of products) new recruit will also receive enough cardstock pieces to make 16 cards, a pack of Rhinestone Basic Jewels, the So Much Love stamp set, and the Queen Anne’s Lace stamp set.

Many Layers Birthday

My card today is with a bundle I have had and been a bit intimidated by.  I received a card using it in the swap I mentioned earlier in the week that I shared my Tinsel In A Tangle card.  The card I received was from fellow Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Jackie Roberts.  So I decided to CASE her card.  Oh My !!

This die is the Many Layers Blossoms and bundles with the Blossoms In Bloom stamp set.  (I only used the dies today.)  I love the look of this card and the layers of the flowers!  But those little pieces got called lots of not nice names!  It was my own fault for not running it through the cutter a couple of times.  I normally do not need to run through more than once.  Especially with the New AWESOME Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine.  But…..I used the adhesive sheet so I would not make a mess with glue on that delicate top piece.  Little tiny pieces of die cut and the adhesive sheets like to hang on to each other!!!!!  Don’t get me wrong, I love and use both of the products regularly!!!  Even with the time it took on those tiny pieces, I am thrilled with the card!!  And I would do it again.

The colors I chose for my monochromatic card are Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape, and Purple Posy.  I love the different shades and they are perfect together.  I didn’t want to add a new color into the mix and that caused me some thought for the sentiment.  I ended up going with Purple Posy card stock embossed with Clear Embossing Powder.  It turned out very “Soft”.  I could have used one of the darker card stocks and the embossing would have been a bit darker.

For the finishing touches I added pearls to the center of the larger flowers.  I also added one to the sentiment.  The sentiment is from the Here”s A Card stamp set.  I used the Stitched Rectangle Dies to cut it with.

Thank you for stopping by.  Please let me know your thoughts on the card and the dies.  I hope you will come back on Monday for another new project!
