Today’s card is a Winter card instead of a Christmas one. The weather has turned colder even here in the South. It is now sweater weather and the paper used reminds me of a sweater pattern. Additionally this card is for the Make My Monday Challenge and that is for a Winter card.

Paper
My idea for the Winter card came from the piece of DSP. It is from the Storybook Gnomes Designer Series Paper. This pattern is a sweater pattern to me. This soft blue is different than all of the Christmas cards I have been making. But also is the color of cold ! This lead to an almost monochromatic card.
Stamps
After deciding on paper I went looking for a stamp to match. I immediately thought of the All Bundled Up stamp set where the sweet critters are all wearing scarves. By using the sweet little cardinal, it allows a lot more of the DSP to shine. The cardinal is stamped and colored with Stampin’ Blends. And to add some additional stamping, I added the snowflakes as well as a bit of “snow” on the ground. A few squiggles of Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blend is all it took.
Finishes
To complete my warm sweater card, I added one of the Wonderful Snowflakes to the mix. The iridescent shine is perfect. And just a few of the Fine Sparkle Gems scattered around completed the card. Even though I put more than an odd number of them. I can never get that correct 🙂

Today I have stepped away from Holidays and back to every day life. For me that means Birthday cards for friends. These are always needed and are my favorite to make. Plus this one is a quick one.
Stamp Set
The “critter” stamps are the ones I am first drawn to. This one is the Glad We’re Friends set. I think the little animals are so cute. And since this recipient is a cat person, and we all know cats are King, this was an easy choice. Making the cat the focal point was also an easy choice because they are always the focal point. At least in their minds! So the cat is stamped and colored with Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends. For the crown I went with Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends.
Paper
These two DSP pieces are from the Host pack Design A Daydream Designer Series paper. These are extra thick packs of DSP with several of each pattern. That makes them wonderful for creating multiples of a card. I actually chose these papers to compliment each other and they were chosen first. Then the card base color came next. And instead of black from the stripes, I substituted the gray. It was a simple and quick process.
Finish
I left the front of the card pretty clean since the paper is fairly loud. And of course the cat is sitting proudly as the star. So to do a simple finish I went with a simple strip of ribbon and bow. This is the Gray Granite ribbon and is beautiful. It adds some glam to the King Cat with the shimmer it has.

Cats and dogs are two of my main loves. Actually most animals make me smile and want to hug them. So the North Pole Mischief stamp set was an immediate hit with me. I have shared a couple of cards using the images of the cat. Today I have used the mischievous pup as well.
Stamp
I can imagine this cat sitting on top of the gift! That is an ingrained cat habit to sit in or on a box. At least it is at my house! And then all it takes is a little pup to come along and play with the ribbon. Or it could have been another cat doing the ribbon playing. But the cat is sitting there planning revenge as the pup is happily playing! LOL!!!
The adorable image is stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then colored with Stampin’ Blends. I chose the colors from the paper of course. The debate was wether or not to color the dog and cat or leave as is. I think the black sections made when stamping were sufficient for their colors. Of course that took a bit of thinking on!
Paper and Embellishments
The gorgeous ornament paper is from the celebrate Everything Designer Series Paper. It is a Host reward and well worth the price! And as is the norm, all of my colors came from that piece of paper. I chose to go with a Thick Basic White card base because of all the white in the DSP piece. But layered a bright Granny Apple Green to pop the colors. I actually thought ahead about how I was going to finish the card. When the “package” look was decided, I went with the Polished Pink Open Weave Ribbon. And that made the ribbon choice in the stamped image so the two coordinate. With the busy DSP and the fun image, I decided that no other bling was needed. That is another rare occasion!

Today’s project shows some versatility with the Christmas Scottie. I needed a rainbow card for a friend and the scottie fit perfectly.
Stamps
The Christmas Scottie stamp set is a sweet set with versatility. And that is something I love. Plus it is a one stamp set card. The thought behind this card is the memory of the sweet Scottie ready to go for his daily walk. The background plaid is stamped using Tahitian Tide and I love the brightness of it. Sad occasions do not require subdued colors in my opinion. And this card could be for an adopted new pet as well.
The Scottie is stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and the Stamparatus. Since I stamped directly on the plaid, it required a few stampings. The Stamparatus is ideal for this! By stamping multiple times over the plaid, I did not have the white area around the pup should I have punched the image.
Papers
To finish the Scottie I added his bow using the In Color Glimmer Paper from the Annual Catalog. The bow is part of the Scottie Dog Punch. This Glimmer paper is so beautiful and adds just enough sparkle. Plus the little Rhinestone gives him some bling! For the background paper, I went with the Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper. This is a “reverse” side of the all pumpkins sheet. To bring in the Tahitian Tide I used the Tahitian Tide Stampin’ Blend to color between the smaller diagonal lines. It was just enough.
Finishes
To complete this card I wanted the sentiment to pop. Even though this is a Christmas set, this lovely sentiment is part of the Christmas Scottie stamp set. It is stamped on White with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then the ends were flagged with my Paper Snips. To complete the card I used some of the In Color Bakers Twine that is a mix of White and Tahitian Tide. It is intended to represent a leash with it being attached to the color and the little hand grip hanging down.

Today is the Final Day of Sale-A-Bration for 2022. Today’s project showcases three of the available ones. The Hippest Hippos are definitely Smile worthy.
Stamps
This adorable little hippo has such a cute expression! One of the things I love about Stampin’ Up! are the cute animal stamps. This Hippest Hippos stamp set is a Free from SAB with a $50.00 order. There are three of these adorable hippos. They are wonderful to color with Stampin’ Blends, which I have done here. And besides the sweet hippos, there are fun sentiments included in the set. This sweet thought is one of the sentiments.
Die Sets
There are two different Die sets used on this card, and both are available Free during Sale-A-Bration. First is the Hippo Dies. These come separately from the stamp set, but match perfectly. Which is a great idea in that if you are not interested in having both, you can choose to one you prefer. Although for me, having the matching dies simplifies everything. Also additional dies in the set are decorations for the hippos but do not have a matching stamp.
The second Die set used is the Dots and Spots Die. You can see that in the “More to SAB” lower in the post. Actually the Dots and Spots Die is in the current Annual Catalog. All of the “More” items are in the Annual Catalog. What a deal is that? To get them Free on this Final day of SAB. However, be sure to use the item number listed in the “more” flyer. It is different than the one in the catalog.
Finishes
Soft colors were what I chose to help the lovely hippo pop a bit more. And in following that, I gave the little flower a bright color of Polished Pink. To help that stand out I used the Double Oval Punch to layer the sentiment. And used more of the Polished Pink as the background. There is a simple White strip of cardstock for the hippo to stand on and hold the sentiment. For the final touch I gave the sentiment one of the 2022-2024 Matte Dots in Parakeet Party as its bling. This gives some sparkle and highlights the Soft Sea Foam layer.

Today’s card is another that qualifies as #simplestamping. This one is a very “clean” card, which is not something I do very often.
Stamps
The All Bundled Up stamp set from the Mini Catalog is so cute! The various little critters have been used by me several times since the catalog launched. Animals are a favorite image and these are top notch. These are easy to color and have some wonderful expressions. This little guy was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then colored using Crumb Cake, Pool Party and Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends. To help ground him, I used the light Pool Party Blend and squiggled a bit of a shadow at his feet.
The second stamp set used on this card is the Peaceful Deer stamp set. Only sentiments were used. There was temptation for a few of the small images of this set. However, I restrained myself and stuck with the simplicity of the single bunny.
Layout
A layout of White on White is such a great choice and makes the perfect “clean” card. But I went just a step further and did some dry embossing on the top layer of White. Using my Simply Scored, I scored all four sides at 1/4″ and 3/8″. It does not show well in the photo. There is a bit at the top you can see. Please trust me that it is on all four sides! With most of the top layer left white, I thought it needed a little something. And a few score lines really add to the card. Plus by raising the top layer with Stampin’ Dimensionals, that gives more depth to the card.
The final touch was adding a little bling. Even a little bunny needs some bling. So there are three of the Fine Sparkle Gems added above the sentiment. To be different, I added two that are a Pool Party color and one of a more Balmy Blue color.
