All About You

The Notes of Nature Bundle is one that I really like but have not given much time to.  My card today gives it a partnership with the gorgeous Layered Floral Embossing Folder.  They are a great pairing.

Stampin' Up!, Layered Florals, Notes of Nature, Natures Sweetness, Gold Faux Leather, Jackie Beers

Bundle

The Notes of Nature Bundle is a really nice one.  And has an item from the stamp set and from the die set on this card.  The sentiment is from the set and is one I especially was drawn to.  Your birthday should be All About You!  So I definitely had to use that sentiment and make it fairly prominent.

The die from the Notes of Nature that is used is the notebook looking Pebbled Path piece.  One of the things I like about this particular die is of course the holes and perforations.  But also that it does not cut out on either side.  So it could be made as a piece of notebook paper, or as I used it for simply a strip for decoration.  Versatility is something I always look for.

Extra Features

The embossing folder used here is the Layered Floral 3D Embossing Folder.  It is in the Mini Catalog and seems to be overlooked quite often.  It is on page 65 and in the center of the book fold, so a bit difficult to see.  And it is well worth seeing!!  The details are amazing.  Even done in Basic White you can clearly see the details on my card.  I love the different flowers mixed in together.

The sentiment was highlighted by using the Banner Pick A Punch to give it some detail.  And by using the Wild Wheat Ink, it appears to be embossed.  Another of the Extras is the Gold Faux Leather Trim.  I used it to lace through the holes of the die cut piece.   It really does have what looks like gold flecks on the leather.  For my purpose I simple adhered each end underneath the Pebbled Path strip of card stock.

Papers

To continue with the different pairings of products, I used Pebbled Path card stock as the card base and the strip of die cut.  Next is the Basic White of the sentiment and the embossed floral.  And finally is a strip of the Natures Sweetness Designer Series Paper.   The gold from the paper was the Pop the card needed.  And it did not take very much.

To finish the bling from the DSP, I added a scattering of the Iridescent Foil Gems.  They are scattered around as flower centers and to highlight the sentiment.  This mix of products is not my norm at all.  Mixing the shining with the leather and the leather with floral is a stretch that I am really happy with.  I hope you will try some of these different pieces as well.

Measurements

  • The card base is Pebbled Path cut to 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4
  • The embossed Basic White layer is 5 1/4 X 4
  • The Natures Sweetness layer is 5 1/4 X 1 1/4
  • The die cut Pebbled Path layer is 5 1/4 X 3/4
  • The sentiment layer is 3 1/2 X 3/4 prior to the banner tips punched

Tools Triangle

The Trusty Tool Bundle is a fun one for men and boys, or ladies who like tools.  I have a fun and easy Triangle DSP card using this set today.

Stampin' Up!, Trusty Tools, Trusty Toolbox, Brushed Metallic Dots, Lost Lagoon, Jackie Beers

Stamp Bundle

The design of this card is a toss up between the stamps and the paper as who is the star.  The sentiment is a great one for so many occasions.  And the tape measure is one that we all have.  Or we have multiples because we cannot find the one when needed!  The inside is not shown, but there are additional tools stamped on the inside layer as well.  All are included in this stamp set and many have matching dies.

Papers

The multiple pieces of DSP are all from the Sale-A-Bration option of Trusty Toolbox Designer Series Paper.  I love the designs with the tools, bolts, measuring tape, etc.  And the opposite sides are generic designs like the green grid paper look.  The best part of this paper is the Trusty Tools Dies will cut many of the tools from the paper.

The two background papers are both 4 X 5 1/4 .  I layered these on top of each other and cut at an angle from right of center down to left of center.  These are both non directional papers.  That made this very easy to put two of the four pieces together to create this card.  The extra two pieces would be opposite of this angle but still the same size, and you have a second card ready to go.  Strips of two other sheets of the DSP finished the paper portion of the card.

Focal Layer and Finishes

The Decorative Circle Punch is a favorite of mine and one I used quite often.  It seemed the perfect choice for this card to give some other than straight edges. By stamping the sentiment towards the top I had enough room to add the die cut tape measure towards the bottom with a minimal hang over area.  And to complete the card I added some of the Brushed Metallic Dots for Bling.  There is one at the top of the sentiment pretending to be a nail holding the sign up. LOL!!

Thank you for stopping in today!!!

Dogwood

We are nearing the end of Sale-A-Bration.  There are only 8 days left to get your FREE items with qualifying orders.  I tend to find products that I wish I had used sooner. Today’s card includes the Detailed Dogwood set.  And it is definitely one of those.

Stampin' Up!, Detailed Dogwood, Petal Park Punch, Opaque Faceted Gems, Bakers Twine 3 color pack, Jackie Beers

Stamps

This dogwood stamp from the Detailed Dogwood is perfect.  It looks just like a photograph.  All of the details of the branch and leaves are there.  The set includes several small companion images as well.  I added the little extra dogwood flower as part of my bling.

The sentiment used is not from the stamp set.  Actually there are no sentiments in this set. I went to the Annual Catalog and the Easter Bunny stamp set for the sentiment.  Although this dogwood image would be great for so many things.

Papers

There are no designer papers used on this card!  That is so unusual for me.  Instead I went to soft colors, which also is unusual.  It seemed the dogwood liked the softer colors for the petals and I went that direction.  Actually the Petal Pink and Soft Sea Foam are two I rarely use, yet were perfect companions here.

Finishes

The coloring is another “different” for me.  I used Watercolor Pencils and a Blender Pen to color the image.  These are great for the softness.  The extra dogwood petal is from the Petal Park Punch.  One of the flowers in the punch matches the single dogwood.  I also added some of the Opaque Faceted Gems.  These are another FREE Sale-A-Bration item.  It is one you can choose for a $50.00 purchase.  They seemed to fit the colors well.  And to finish off, I added the Coral of the Bakers Twine 3 Color Pack from the Mini Catalog.  It is wrapped around a few times and then a separate trio of twine strings was used to simply tie a not around the wrapping.  An easy version of a bow.

Floral Details

This card is another that is really quick and has more coloring.  It is one that could be for a variety of occasions which is always a good thing.

Stampin' Up!, Everyday Details, Poetic Expressions, Purple Shimmer, Boho Blue, Highland Heather, Jackie Beers

Stamp Bundle

The adorable flower arrangement is from the Everyday Details stamp set.  This stamp set is little individual stamps, like this one, that can be used for almost any occasion.  I chose to let it stand alone like a painting.  The image is stamped using Memento tuxedo Black Ink and then colored using Stampin’ Blends.  They are all listed in the Supply List at the bottom of the post.

The fun cut out of the floral layer is from the Die set in this Bundle.  I love it because it is simple and different.  There are several shapes for layering and some texture dies included in this set.  The shape I used gives a fun frame to this flower arrangement.

Papers and Finishes

To match the colors I chose for the flowers, I decided on Boho Blue as the card base.  This is my favorite blue and it is going to be retiring with the next Annual Catalog.  I am already sad!  But I have a few months to use what I have.  And it pairs with a lot of colors very well.  For this card I chose to add some Highland Heather as a companion.

This pretty DSP is from the Poetic Expressions Designer Series Paper.  The pack of paper is softer and patterns that remind me of wallpaper.  Not ugly wallpaper!!  Wallpaper that would look nice with any item next to it.  I know that sounds odd! LOL!!!  But I do enjoy this pack of paper and have used it a few times.  This sheet is a perfect companion for the Boho Blue and the floral painting I made.

To finish this card there must be Bling!  And one of the new favorites are the Purple Fine Shimmer Gems.  These are in a couple of different sizes and shades of purple.  I scattered a couple around for pops of bling and color.

Blueberry Wishes

The card for today is one I loved coloring using the Blueberry Bunches stamp set.  The envelope even received some special details.  This card also includes the upcoming Online Exclusive Sweetly Scripted.  I used this one last week also.  You are going to love this set.

Stampin' Up!, Blueberry Bunches, Sweetly Scripted, Starry Sky Ribbon, Iridescent Pearls, Jackie Beers

Stamps

The star of this card is the large bunch of blueberries.  I love this large image.  There is also another image that is a smaller bunch. That is what I used, only partially stamping, on the inside of the card as well asl the envelope.  Because of the darkness of the Blueberry Bushel Stampin’ Blends used for coloring.  I used Memento tuxedo Black Ink for the stamping.  This gives a much darker outline to color.  For the leaves I used Lemon Lime Twist for a little brighter green.

The sentiment is from the Sweetly Scripted stamp set.  This is the same stamp that was used on Friday’s card.  I had shortened the tails on that card.  But I wanted the width of the included scripty tails for this one.  Here is a look at the stamp set.  It will be available to customers on March 5.

Paper and Finishes

This is a quick card without the coloring.  And even then it is pretty fast.  Plus, I love to color as you all know!  Choosing the colors of paper was a piece of cake in that I went with the two colors I used for the blueberries.  These are Blueberry Bushel for the card base and Lemon Lime Twist for the layer.

To finish this card, I added a double looping of ribbon using the Starry Sky Metallic Ribbon.  And then tied a double loop bow, which was added with a glue dot.  That little trick is much easier than trying to tie a bow and keep the wrapped ribbon tight.  And the bling for this card is a couple of the Iridescent Pearls scattered around.  They are a bit difficult to see against the White layer in the photo.
