Sorry I was absent a couple of days. We are still cleaning out our old house. My goodness the things we save!! LOL!! But I have a quick and shiny card to share with you today. This one is using a stamp set that I fell in love with immediately and it did not seem to be on other folk’s radar at all. So please let me know what you think.
The photography did not agree with the silver foil of the DSP. That is where the rainbow colors came in. It is really just silver foil in this gorgeous DSP.
Addressed To You
This fun name is actually the name of the stamp set. It is made to use on a card, but also has lines and an oval for stamping on envelopes for addresses. How cool is that!! I wanted a simple card and loved these little balloons.
The sentiment is also part of the stamp set. It is two separate stamps. The Happy works with another stamp as well. Even though the blue of the paper is Balmy Blue, I added some brightness by using Azure Afternoon. I love how it turned out.
Paper
The gorgeous Designer Series Paper is aptly named at Splash of Sparkles. It has silver foil mixed with the great colors on one side and then fun swirls of colors on the other. You will soon see the opposite sides and they are just as pretty.
To pair with the DSP I chose Pretty In Pink as the card base. The DSP section I chose to use has more blue than pink so I thought the pink was the way to go.
Extras
To create the circle for my sentiment and balloons I went the simple, old-fashioned way and used a circle punch. This is the 2 3/8″ Circle Punch. EXCEPT: I did not punch out the circle. At least not the one that is one the card. I used the negative of the circle to create a template to then use blending brushes to make my blue background. After stamping the balloons and sentiment, I used Paper Snips to fussy cut my circle. All of this was so the balloons could extend outside of the circle. Yes, I know I could have fussy cut the balloons but I wanted to be different.LOL!!
The final touch is the Petunia Pop Marker that I used around the circle to highlight it. This is something I love to do when you really do not want to add another layer. It is so quick and easy as well! And then Petunia Pop Iridescent Ribbon for a lot of texture. Finally the Sparkle Dot Essentials for some more bling! These dots are really nice and have a good bit of sparkle. Plus they are almost flat which is a super win in my book.

Fun Folds are my favorite type of card. This one is a simple one to create and adds wonderful interest at the same time. I call it a Diamond Card. You will be surprised at the simplicity and want to make your own.
As you can see, the diamond is part of the front of the card. An easy peasy but bold look.
Creative Haven Stamp Bundle
The front tag and sentiment, as well as the inside, are from the Creative Haven Bundle. I love the fun and bold sentiments in this set. And even better there are Dies that match the larger sentiments. That is a double win. I used a smaller sentiment for the inside as it is a smaller writing area than a full white layer on the inside. Here is the open view.
Here you see the additional DSP and the writing space with this sweet sentiment. Since these little stars are included I simply had to add them!
Peaceful Garden Designer Series Paper
The fact this gorgeous DSP is still around makes me happy. Hydrangeas are one of my favorite flowers. They remind me of my childhood home. We had a couple of giant bushes. Since my preferred color is blue, even in hydrangeas, this paper is one I really love. With the Hydrangea piece as the front layer, I added a smaller pattern from the same pack to the inside. It is a small enough pattern that it doesn’t take away from the sentiment or your note. And the Secret Sea cardstock has really become one of my Go To colors!
Extras
There are a few additional “texture” points for this Diamond card. First is the tag with the sentiment. It is raised with Stampin’ Dimensionals for more depth. I always am happy to add a tag to a card. Since it is a tag, there is a hole for ribbon. I simply tied the bow from Cloud Cover ribbon and adhered it over the hole instead of trying to tie the bow through the hole. And finally a trio of Sparkle Dot Essentials are the bling. These are new and fabulous. Different sizes and colors of glittering flat dots. What could be better!!
Measurements
The card base is Secret Sea cardstock cut 4 1/4 X 9 and scored at 5 1/2 on the long side. For the diamond you need a Secret Sea piece cut to 3 X 3 (actually just a smidgen short of 3 X 3). This is adhered on the angle and at the end of the shorter front panel. Be sure to place your adhesive back from the center line so it doesn’t bleed over.
For the front I used a Basic White layer of 3 1/4 X 4 to have behind the hydrangea DSP. And 2 3/4 X 2 3/4 on the diamond. The hydrangea DSP is 3 1/8 X 3 7/8. On the inside of the card I have a Basic White that is 5 1/4 X 4 with the small print DSP at 2 1/4 X 3 7/8. Of course the Cloud Cover for the tag is more a scrap but you need at least 2 1/2 X 3 1/2.

I love fun cards! And this Turtle-y Awesome stamp bundle, matching DSP, etc. is just Totally Fun! When it was first shown last year at the Stampin’ Up! OnStage Event, I thought it was just for children. But the more it was shown I was in love. It made me Smile! And that is what I hope my card making does for you as it does for me. So I have brought it forward once again.
Isn’t it Smile worthy???
Turtle-y Awesome
All of the stamped images are from the Turtle-y Awesome stamp set. There are matching Dies, but I did not need them for this project. I stamped the sentiment and the little cake and fussy cut them. Actually I believe there is a Die for the cake, but it was quick to fussy cut as I was going along.
The cake is colored using Stampin’ Blends. The candles are the Darling Duckling of the paper, and the decoration is Flirty Flamingo. There was not a lot of decoration needed as the DSP is quite busy with the partying turtles running around.
Turtle-y CuteDesigner Series Paper
The name of the DSP fits perfectly. It is so Turtle-y Cute! All of the pages have turtles in an activity on one side and then fun, but more neutral, designs on the reverse. Since this is a birthday card I opted for the turtles partying with ice cream, cake, and balloons.
Extras
There are a couple of additions to the card for added depth and of course bling. The bow is made using Darling Duckling Faux Linen Ribbon. It is a thin ribbon and worked underneath the sentiment. The trick is to not pull very tight on the knot. That way it lays flatter. Of course there must be bling! There are a trio of the Shades of Green Hexagon embellishments. These are also part of the turtle suite of products. I use them often as there are not very many “greens” in the embellishments section.
Measurements
The card base is Darling Duckling cardstock cut to 4 1/4 X 11. (If you have followed me for any time at all then you know I love the top fold cards. They stand up so well for display.) I added a layer of Garden Green behind the DSP that measures 3 5/8 X 4 7/8. Next is the DSP which is 3 1/2 X 4 3/4. Finally I add a strip of a different sheet from the DSP pack measuring 3 5/8 X 3/4. This is to ground all of the decorations.

Today I have used most of the products included in the Nature Walk Suite Collection. When I first saw this suite I liked it but not overly excited. After playing with it, Oh My!, I love it. The paper is beautiful with rich colors and the Stamps and Dies are fabulous. Details in the leaves of the large leaf die add so much to the project. I hope you will love it as much as I do.
Nature’s Symphony Bundle
The Bundle is a good one for a variety of reasons in my opinion. The sentiments are good ones that make me smile. And the images are great for anyone. You can see I used several of the Die shapes. That large leaf shows so much detail and helps it come to life. As does the “wood” piece. Finally I added the Faux Bronze Pentagon to the sentiment layer. The sentiment Die is from the Nested Labels Die set.
Nature Walk Designer Series Paper
This fabulous DSP is a mix of greens and tans. To get my squares, or almost squares, I cut a piece to 3 3/4 X 5, then cut it in half vertically at 2 1/2, held the pieces together and turned it on my paper trimmer to then cut again on the short side at 1 7/8. I kept my pieces in order so I could rebuild the pattern correctly. Even though this is non directional paper, I wanted it to flow like it did as the one piece.
For a rare time I have opted to not have a background to this square pattern. I opted to simply adhere it to the card base. Being brave and going outside our comfort zones can be difficult! After adhering the paper I then added all of the die cut pieces. I did add a twine bow just behind the sentiment. It is Shaded Spruce I believe and is a retired twine. Linen Thread would have worked just as well but I was using up some old twine.

Today is my first actual stamping post in six months! I am horrified that it has taken me this long to get back after the ordeal of moving. Actually the move didn’t happen until December, it was everything leading up to it.
Thankfully I have my very own, with a door, stamping room! I am thrilled. Although it is a mess and still needs a ton of organization done, I can actually stamp. I have a Happy Place now. (A friend even gave me a sign that says “Jackie’s Happy Place”! How fun is that!
Pop Up Petals Bookmark
To begin posting in this new year, I went with a quick and easy project. These bookmarks are so fun to make and can be made using any of your favorite stamps.
This bookmark was made using only the Pop Up Petals stamp set. The vase and sentiment are stamping using Pretty Peacock Ink. And the flowers are stamped using Crumb Cake Ink. All of the coloring is with Stampin’ Blends: Darling Duckling, Old Olive, and Timid Tiger. I will add that because of the Stampin’ Blends bleeding through the back of the cardstock, I added a second piece of Basic White so that does not show. It also allows you to write a short message if you like.
The Bookmark
The bookmark itself is purchased from Amazon. These are Photo Booth Nook Bookmark Sleeves. They are reasonable priced and come in a variety of quantities. I opted for the smallest, which is 50. The Basic White is cut to 1 15/16 X 6 and easily slides into the sleeve.
