My passion is making cards. I want them all to be interesting and fun for the recipient. And that can be a difficult task over time. So I look for different Fun Folds, Layouts, etc. Today, and the next few days, I am sharing a single Fun Fold that with a different DSP and stamps can make them extremely different cards. I hope you will hang with me through these and get ideas for yourself.

Layout

The layout is probably the most important since I will be using it for a few days. It is a very simple one that can be adjusted as you will find out. The card base is 7 X 5 1/2 and scored at 4 1/4. The front DSP is without a thin layer today as I generally add. The front flap DSP measures 2 1/2 X 5 1/4 and the inside strip measures 1 3/8 X 5 1/4. I also did not use a full Basic White for the inside since no layer on the front. This leaves the sentiment area to measure 2 1/2 X 5 1/4. Here is a view of the inside.

Stamps and Dies Focal Layer

This type layout is open to any sentiment layer or focal layer. I chose to do what is a very simple one. The Diamond shape is the larges square from Stylish Shapes Dies. It is centered over the front of the card but only adhered to the front flap. How many of us have added glue to the entire layer on a similar occasion? Yes, I would be one of those. And probably more than once!

The DSP layer measures 2 1/2 X 2 1/2. Luckily this DSP can go in any direction. The cake and matching Die are from the Words & Wishes Bundle. I love this bundle. The cake would fit most occasions and having a Die is a treat. The sentiments in the set are cute ones and in non-fancy fonts. For the inside of the card I chose one of those unusual sentiments. Sometimes that is what a card needs. Although, I used a sentiment from the Cutest Crew stamp set for the front since it was already cut and laying on my desk. There are pieces all over my desk that have been discarded from a certain card and waiting to find one they belong on.

Papers and Inks

The DSP is from the Beautiful Ordinary Life Designer Series Paper. These patterns are made to match so many different colors. I have paired it with Pool Party for the card base and Petal Pink for the front layer. The cake is stamped with Flirty Flamingo and colored using Bubble Bath Stampin’ Blends. The icing and cake plate have been given a bit of shimmer by using the Barely Blush Shimmer Brush. (Say that three times!)

Extras

The only Extra today is for each corner of the diamond shape. That was not the original plan. But after adding one at the bottom I decided each corner needed some bling. These are from the Array of Dots Embellishments. This is a wonderful set of embellishments in most of the colors of this DSP. How convenient is that!
