I have used the Stone & Vine 3D Embossing Folder a few times to share with you all. This is another of that gorgeous detailed ivy vine. I am not sure why I am so impressed with this embossing folder. It seems to mesmerize me at the detail it shows. There really is a 3D effect.
Stone & Ivy Embossing
You can easily see the ivy standing out on this card front. The stone may be a bit more difficult to see in the photo but it is definitely there as well. Stampin’ Up!s designer really outdid themselves on this one in my opinion. And who doesn’t love a card that with one crank through the Stamp Cut & Emboss Machine you have a gorgeous card front!!
Floral Details
The flower “focal” area is the second best part of this card. I used the Lovely Arrangements Bundle for these pretty flowers and leaves. The flowers are left plainer than normal. I stamped them using Secret Sea Ink and then used a Blender Pen to use that ink to give them some highlights. Don’t get me wrong. These flowers are pretty no matter what color they are. And I love the two different designs. The sentiment and layer is also from the Lovely Arrangements Bundle. I used the Secret Sea Marker to go around the edge of the white for a look of another layer.
The leaves are only Die cut using Mossy Meadow cardstock. All of the details are from Dies themselves. The light blue sprig, which is actually from Cloud Cover cardstock, is from the Beautifully Celebrated Die set. I had been using that set on another project and just loved that sprig. It reminds me of baby’s breath you see in flower arrangements. And even though it is hidden fairly well, the layer for the florals in Secret Sea cardstock is one of the layering designs from the Beautifully Celebrated Dies. These are so pretty!
Extras
The embossing and the floral layer stand out quite a bit as detail. So I did not feel there needed to be too much on the Extra side today. Of course there must be bling you all know! So I used the every popular Rhinestones as the Bling. And they may actually be the biggest of bling in terms of shine. I added one to each flower center and a third one to the area of the leaves.
Measurements
This is a little bit of a Fun Fold. So here are the measurements: Score the card base that is 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 at 2 1/8 & 4 1/4 on the long side. Then cut the embossed layer to 4 X 5 1/4. It fits over the 2 1/8 section on the front. You can see a bit of that in the photo above. The inside White is 4 X 5 1/4 as well and layered to be sure it does not show when the card is closed. It could be a hair smaller if you wanted to not have to worry about getting it just so when adhering it.
