Before I start on today’s project, I want to let you know about a new line of Online Products from Stampin’ Up!.  You may be aware that SU bought some of Making Memories products as they closed.  So there is now a catalog with new Stampin’ Up! Scrapbooking items and Making Memories items are also available online.  The link for the catalog is further down in the post.

Today I have a really quick card that would be great for use of the beautiful papers, especially the Scenery DSP, Stampin’ Up! has been producing.  My card is a generic Sending Hugs.  This layout will work for any occasion however.

Stampin' Up!, Perennial Postage Dies, Autumn Splendor, Layering Leaves, Thick White, White, Jackie Beers

Dies

The single Die used on this card front is from the Perennial Postage Die set.  It is centered with the top and sides with a larger area at the bottom.  How easy is it this!!!  I love the idea. This will be great for making multiple cards.  A set of these with different DSP in the “window” would be a wonderful gift.

Papers

The die cut opening is great, but the beauty is really in the DSP.  This is from the upcoming Mini Catalog and will be available beginning on September 4.  It is Splendid Autumn Designer Series Paper.  It is a 6 x 6 pack of beautiful watercolor like scenes.  To make this card, I cut 2 1/4″ strips from the 6 X 6.  Next I slid the strip up and down in the window until I had the exact spot I wanted.  The sheet of DSP I used is very dark and grassy at the bottom section so I needed some sky mixed in.  There are other pieces that you could easily cut the strip in the middle and have two from one strip.

The card base is Thick Basic White cut to 4 1/4 X 11.  And the die cut layer is regular Basic White that is 3 3/4 X 5.  I used the edges of my Stampin’ Dimensionals to raise the DSP away from the front window.  You could also use the Foam Adhesive Strips.  I use a lot of dimensionals so have the surrounding foam ready to go!  The focal layer is also then raised using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Stamps and Punch

This sweet sentiment is from the beautiful Layering Leaves stamp set.  I wanted a simple sentiment that complimented the scene.  It is stamped using Mossy Meadow Ink.  There is also a sprig of Mossy Meadow sticking out of the bottom right of window.  I used the Bough Punch and the small sprig it makes to add a bit of dimension to the photo.  Of course it is not at all necessary if you prefer to leave that off.

There is only a single bling for this card.  I used a single gold sequin to highlight the sentiment.  Any type of bling would work for this large open space.

Thank you for stopping in today!! I hope you have a wonderful holiday.
