Scraps on my desk can be an inspiration sometimes. And today’s card came from those scraps. After cutting card stock for an upcoming class, I had quite a few strips to create with.
Stamp Set
This cute little pumpkin and mix of words sentiment are from the Choose Happy stamp set in the Annual Catalog. This set is one that has small images, like the pumpkin, that fit pretty much any time of year. As well as sentiments that can be created for any occasion. When I saw this set I knew I had to have it. The simple focal layer is cute and makes for a quick card.
The pumpkin is stamped using Early Espresso Ink. It is then colored using Pumpkin Pie and Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blends. The sentiment is two single words. They are also stamped with Early Espresso and then straight cut for the Fall and fussy cut for the Happy.
Papers
These papers were put together as an experiment and ended up being a happy one. The stripes were the pieces from the card class. They are 1/2 tall and were a couple of different lengths. I only had to cut a few extra once after I began layering them. They are adhered to a piece of Basic White and then the edges trimmed. To go along with the Fall theme, I thought the Mossy Meadow card base would be perfect to pair with Copper Clay and Wild Wheat.
Layers
To continue the simple theme, I went with Circle Punches for the focal layer. Granted the strips did take a minute. But they were an experiment and could have been a solid piece of card stock as well. The focal layer is two circle punches. They are the 1 3/4 and 2″ circles. I love punches for quick cards. These seemed to work perfectly with the small image and sentiment. And I finished it with one single Bling! It is the Adhesive Backed Sparkle Gems. This one is the dark brown.
