I have been on a floral kick of late.  Today’s card is no different.  It includes the Pansy Patch and Pansy Dies.  And in honor of Mother’s Day, they are in my Mom’s favorite color.  That is purple!  So I mixed shades of purple to create the pansies.

The Pansies

These cute little pansies were created with the Pansy Dies.  No stamping was required.  I layered Gorgeous Grape with Highland Heather for the flower pieces.  Other than figuring which dies did what, they go together very easily and fit perfectly.  The leaves are two step also and are Pretty Peacock with Shaded Spruce.  Mixing colors is so much fun!

The sentiment is from the Pansy Patch stamp set as well.  It is heat embossed on Gorgeous Grape.  That is a step I don’t often do.  But it adds so much!  And to be different, I layered it as well.  The banner is cut using the Something Fancy Dies.  I then layered it on a piece of Pretty Peacock. The die gave the angle cut so I layered it on the Pretty Peacock strip and then used my Paper Snips to angle cut that piece.  A quick way to add that second layer!

Colors, Finishes

I almost forgot the basket!  I wanted to ground the pansies, so came up with the basket from Sweetest Cherries.  Since the basket needed to be brown, I went with that for a layer.  I chose the new Pecan Pie for that color.  And back to Pretty Peacock for the card base.

My finishing touch is bling!  The new Three Pack of Tinsel Gems had the colors I had used.  There are purples for the pansy centers and then a couple of green for the white area.
