This fun card is a mix of old and new. A few different products mixed together can create a fun card. You can never have too many birthday cards.
Stamp Bundle
Bundles are my favorite because you generally can make multiple different cards with only that bundle. But when it is a Punch Bundle I am really excited! I love punches for quick cards. And the price point is generally quite a bit lower which helps everyone. The little cupcake is from a new Punch Bundle in the upcoming Annual Catalog. It is the Circle Sayings Bundle.
This bundle includes a 2 3/8″ Circle Punch! Yay!!! The white embossed circle was made using that punch. The cupcake was cut using the 1 3/4 Circle Punch that is in the Online Exclusives. (It is currently out of stock, but is returning!) The cupcake and the Happy Birthday are both included in the stamp set.
Papers
The papers used began with the blue gingham. This is from the Country Gingham Designer Series Paper from the Mini Catalog. I love to stamp on DSP when it is a lighter color. The gingham is Balmy Blue, so that is the card base as well. But the layer is one of the new colors. It is the Azure Afternoon. It is a bright blue, similar but not as dark, as Pacific Point which is retiring.
Extras
To give some added texture to the card, I used the Splatter Embossing Folder. This is one of a duo designed for the Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. It does not show well in the photo, but I embossed both the Balmy Blue strip as well as the white circle behind the cupcake.
To finish the card I used the Double Oval Punch for the sentiment. An opportunity to use another piece of the Azure Afternoon was too good to pass up! For some additional blue I also used the Balmy Blue Variegated Ribbon at the top. Of course there has to be Bling! This is in the form of pearls being scattered around. I have quite a lot of those to use up.
