Welcome to InKing Royalty’s August Blog Hop! This year’s Blog Hop themes are inspired by a single word – and this month our projects are centered around VACATION. While many are reminiscing about their summer vacations, others are looking forward to the long weekend just around the corner. We are excited to share our creations with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.
If you are a regular visitor to my blog you know that I just returned from an awesome vacation. I did a Viking Riverboat Cruise down the Rhine River. We started the trip with a few days in Amsterdam. Of course this made me immediately think of the Winds of Change stamp set for this Vacation theme. Alas, I have recently made a card using the windmill. I still had to use that set. So here is another Amsterdam memory.
One of the things I love about the various European cities I have been to are the gorgeous flowers everywhere. Amsterdam was especially colorful. And there were bicycles EVERYWHERE !!! The bicycles were more dangerous than cars when crossing streets.
I chose the bicycle as the focal point of my card but wanted a special background as well. So I picked the Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper in the blue pinstripe as my background. I used Memento Tuxedo Ink to stamp the flowers as well as the bicycle. I colored all with the Stampin’ Blends.
COLOR COMBINATION:
I know this seems a bit of an odd color combination. My reasoning was to match the tulips, so I needed a pretty green. The blue for the bicycle was from a movement in Amsterdam. They are adding blue bicycle tires because some believe they make the bicycles easier to see. Apparently that is debatable, but we did see quite a few with blue tires.
Here are a couple of my vacation photos as well.

Beautiful colors, wonderful photos and a terrific way to commemorate your trip! Love it!
❤️❤️❤️this card! It’s beautiful and brings to memory the awesome trip! Thanks for inviting me!
Great card Jackie. I agree about the bicycles and color in Europe. Add in Scooters too as they are also
everywhere.
Oh, the tulips! And the bike. And everything! Such a cute card, and the addition of your vacation pictures is perfect.
I immediately know this was The Netherlands when I saw this beautiful card! You have done so much traveling that you had so many places to choose from. Your card is perfect!
Jackie, this is just lovely! The tulips and the bicycle are perfect images for this card. And that blue ticking is one of my favorite DSP patterns this year.
What a sweet card! It perfectly captures the memories of your fantastic trip.
What a beautiful card Jackie. I love tulips (my favorites are the yellow ones) and this card is a reminder that I shouldn’t keep saying next year I’ll plant tulips. It also makes me wish I knew how to ride a bike. Lazy days in the early summer bike riding sounds like fun. Again a beautiful project Jackie
The DSP from Sail Away is unexpectedly perfect! Very definitely reminiscent of your vacation.
Jackie- what a wonderful experience to get to travail such beautiful cities. Your card plays very well with the sights you saw! I love the combination of the bike and tulips
I always forget about stamping on DSP. Super love that aspect of this card.
