A little Message

Today’s card is a great use of smaller DSP pieces and a fun floral.  I have mixed the SAB Softly Stippled DSP with the Bottled Happiness set.

Stampin' Up!, Bottled Happiness, Thoughtful Expressions, Wild Wheat, Jackie Beers

Paper

The Softly Stippled Designer Series Paper I used is from Sale-A-Bration.  I failed to post this before SAB was over.  But I bet quite a few of you have this paper, or any mix of paper that would work beautifully.  I cut the two pieces of DSP to 2 3/4 X 5 1/4 and 1 1/4 X 5 1/4.  Pebbled Path is the color I chose for this card base.  I really like it as a base because it looks good with most colors.

Stamps

The floral image and the sentiment are from the Bottled Happiness stamp set in the Annual Catalog.  I know my flower choices are a little odd, but I chose the Calypso to match the paper.  LOL!!  This is a two step floral arrangement and they really line up well.  It speeds things along when this happens.

Dies

The floral die and the sentiment die are both from the Thoughtful Expressions Die set.  I really love the shape of the floral cut.  It is a fancy circle, and like that.  The sentiment layer has the same design on the ends, as well as the stitching.

Finishes

To highlight the sentiment I added some Wild Wheat Ribbon to tie in to the DSP.  It is simply zig zagged under the sentiment and not really a bow.  I added several Iridescent Rhinestones to the flowers as well as the sentiment layer.  But you knew there would be bling!!!

Thank you for stopping by today!

Zany Zoo Corner Tuck

The card today is a pocket card of sorts.  I am calling it a “tuck card”  because a small card tucks in the behind the corner.  It features the Zany Zoo products.  I have neglected these fun products for too long.

Stampin' Up!, Zany Zoo, Zoo Crew, Classic Matte Dots, Jackie Beers

The Card

This is a fun Birthday card for any age.  The idea came from Karen Titus. I love a simple Fun Fold card.  The card base is Basic White that is a quarter sheet of card stock.  The layer, which is an opposite side of the Zoo Crew DSP, is 4 X 5 1/4.  Next I cut a square of Basic White 3 1/2 X 3 1/2 with a square of matching DSP at 3 1/4 X 3 1/4.  Both of these are cut on the diagonal.  You layer one White and one DSP and save the other two for another card.  Then add the diagonal piece to the bottom left corner of the card.  Only adhere the left side and bottom!

Here is a photo of the real card.

The small card is a card base of Pool Party that is 3 1/4 X 4 1/4.  And the DSP is 3 X 8 and folded at 4.  Layer the DSP folded piece onto the Pool Party.  I added the Basic White inside with a strip of DSP at the bottom.  The inside White is 2 3/4 X 3 3/4.

The Bundle

The Zany Zoo Bundle is an awesome one.  Not only are their great animal stamps and sentiments, but Dies that cut them out.  Plus there are some additional Dies for added layers and scene creations.  Also, and one of the best parts, the animal Dies will cut some of the animals from the Zoo Crew DSP.  Both sentiments are stamped from the stamp set.  The front sentiment is then Die Cut with the banner Die included in the Bundle.

DSP

This Zany Zoo Designer Series Paper is so fun!  I love the animals and their different actions they are doing.  There is not a die for the elephant on the card front.  But I wanted an unusual focal point on the front of the card.  Since the DSP is thinner than card stock, I cut the elephant from the DSP leaving a wide area around her and then glued her to a scrap of White.  While the glue was drying I finished coloring her with Stampin’ Blends.  Once the glue had dried, I fussy cut the elephant and then added her to the front of the card with the banner.  It was really quick and easy to do.

To finish the card I simply added a trio of Classic Matte Dots in Black.  I felt they would show the best with all of the White and Black of the card.

Oops A Daisy

I have a card today that is perfect for your DSP scraps and has so much detail!  It is a mix of the Cheerful Daisies products.  Daisies are almost ready for an appearance here in the South!

Stampin' Up!, Cheerful Daisies, Layered Floral, Fresh As A Daisy, Festive Pearls, Jackie Beers

Colors

To say my cards generally begin with the DSP is an understatement!  Ya’ll know that is where I tend to get all of my colors.  In this case, it was the Lemon Lolly embossed layer.  I had tested the Layerd Floral Embossing Folder on this Lemon Lolly card stock and loved it. But ended up not using it then.  So seeing it on my desk gave me the idea to look for yellows in DSP.

The yellow was found in the Fresh As A Daisy Designer Series Paper.  There is an abundance of Lemon Lolly and Crushed Curry in this paper.   I found a few scraps with yellow showing and that was all I needed.  Layering everything on Basic White kept it softer and I didn’t have to choose from the multiples of other colors!  These strips are 3/4 X 4 in length.

Stamps and Dies

The Cheerful Daisies Bundle is all that was needed for the rest of the card.  I went very simple though.  The outline and detailed dies for the daisies added more of Lemon Lolly with definition.  By leaving the two pieces together, it goes well with the Layered Floral Embossed background.  I did add a touch of Moody Mauve to the centers by using a Blending Brush.  And the die cut leaves are part of the Die set as well.

The sentiment and sentiment shape are both from the Bundle.  I love the “Oopsy Daisy” !!  Since I am late quite often for birthday cards, it worked out perfectly to have this cute sentiment for my card.

Finishes

To complete the card I pulled an unusual color form the DSP strips.  I chose the Moody Mauve from the one strip.  But since it did not have a ribbon, I switched gears and used the Sweet Sorbet Metallic Ribbon.  I love this ribbon and have it in all of that group of In Colors.  It is fabulous to work with to tie bows.  I will definitely miss this at the end of the catalog.

There still needed to be a touch of bling to go along with the metallic ribbon.  I chose one of the gold Festive Pearls to add to the sentiment layer.  It compliments the Crushed Curry flowers in the DSP and pops from the Basic White of the sentiment layer.

Thank you for stopping by today!!

Simply Fresh Air

Today is the final day of Sale-A-Bration for 2024!  If you still have items on your wish list, it is officially almost the last minute. 🙂

The card I have to share is a mix of SAB items.  It pairs the Simply Sophisticated Embossing Folder with the Flight & Airy Designer Series Paper for a sweet Anniversary card.

Stampin' Up!, Softly Sophisticated, Flight and airy, Love For You, Jackie Beers

Papers

The papers used are definitely the stars of this card.  Both the background and the birds are from the Flight & Airy Designer Series Paper from SAB.  I love the Bubble Bath background with the variegated look.  And the beautiful birds are fussy cut from one of the sheets.  It really only took a minute and is well worth the time!  There are several Stampin’ Dimensionals behind the bird scene to give it some definition off of the background.

The card base is also Bubble Bath to match the paper.  To further tie everything together I love adding a thin Basic White layer to differentiate between the card stock and DSP.  It has the added benefit of helping the simple sentiment layer to pop.

Stamp

The single stamp is unusual for me.  But when the DSP is so beautiful it really does not need much more.  Since this is an Anniversary card, I found this small and simple stamp in the Love For You stamp set.  This set is in the Annual Catalog and has a variety of small size sayings that would turn this card in to whatever you needed.

Finishes

The embossed background is one of my favorite parts of this card.  The Simply Sophisticated Bundle is a stamp set and Embossing Folder pairing in Sale-A-Bration.   I really love this embossed image!  It turns pretty paper into extraordinary paper.

To give some additional texture to the card I layered Linen Thread underneath the birds.  It adds some organic look to the tree branch.  And the final touch is bling!  For this I chose the Festive Pearls that carried over from the Holiday Mini Catalog.  These are a few different colors. One of the colors looks to be a light blue, or takes that color easily.  So I went a little heavy handed and gave more than my normal three.  And that is perfectly fine to do.

Thank you for stopping in today!! I hope this inspires you to try out different uses for your DSP as well as maybe clear out your Wish List!

Hello There

Sale-A-Bration Reminder

I wanted to start with a Reminder!  Sale-A-Bration only has today and tomorrow left for this year.  We were treated to one extra day with the leap year.  There are some great products to add to your inventory. And in case you forgot, there were additional products added this month that have great value.  There is a flyer at the bottom of the post.   Please reach out to me if you have any questions.

Additionally, there is a wonderful join promotion included in SAB.  You have the choice of additional product, or a fabulous glass craft mat.  I was able to purchase the mat and it is really nice!!  And I would love to have you join my team.

Hello There card

Today’s card is showcasing one of the $100.00 SAB stamp sets.  I have used it once before, along with the awesome Embossing Folder.  This is the Softly Sophisticated Bundle.

Stampin' Up!, Softly Sophisticated, Perennial Lavender, Pretty Peacock Metallic Ribbon, Delicate Forest Dies, Jackie Beers

Stamps

The stamps used are all from the Softly Sophisticated stamp set.  This set has some of the best sentiments included. And they are in beautifully scripted fonts.   I will keep it in my stash for those sentiments.  The flowers used are all from the stamp set as well.  I stamped repeatedly the stems in Lost Lagoon and then the flowers in Highland Heather.  To have some depth, I additionally stamped a couple of times with Gorgeous Grape Ink on scrap paper.  These were fussy cut and then added over top of two of the flowers and then as an addition to the sentiment layer.

Papers

The Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper is, in my opinion, the most beautiful of Stampin’ Up Designer Paper.  I love the mix of purples, but also the greens with the Crumb Cake background.  So I used a couple of different pieces for this card’s layers.  The multiple floral piece was my first choice.  Next came the plaid piece.

Then I decided it needed some more dark color.  So I found the deep purple strip in scraps of that pack.  (I keep all of the scraps associated with DSP.  You never know when a scrap is exactly what you need to finish a card!)  And the card base is Shaded Spruce that really helps the first DSP layer to pop!  The stamped layer is cut intentionally at an angle.  So your eyes are not messing with you! LOL!!  It was an idea that didn’t really pan out but I just continued on.

Finishes

To get more texture and to highlight the sentiment, I added a faux bow using the Pretty Peacock and Gold Metallic Ribbon..  It is very soft and does not fight against the sentiment layer.  The sentiment is die cut using a die from the Delicate Forest Dies.  I wanted a pretty but simple shape.  This die perfectly fit that bill!  And to complete the card is bling.  I added a trio of the Purple Shimmer Dots.  Two are on flowers and one on the sentiment layer.

Thank you for visiting today!!

Step Card

I have another Fun Fold card today.  It is a Step Card that I added my own twist to.  The Bright Skies Bundle and Sunny Days DSP are the stars of the card.

Stampin' Up!, Bright Skies, Sunny Days, Double Oval Punch, Opaque Faceted Gems, Jackie Beers

Papers

There are more DSP and card stock to this card than stamping.  So let’s begin there.  For the steps and two squares I have used different sheets from the Sunny Days Designer Series Paper. This paper is from Sale-A-Bration and is one of my most used.  I love the green and black flowers.  Not something you see in nature, but simply striking!

The DSP is paired with Shaded Spruce card stock to highlight the bright green.  Of course pops of Basic White are almost always included in my cards.  And this one definitely needed the Basic White layers as well as the focal layer being White.

Stamp Bundle

All of the stamped images are from the Bright Skies stamp set.  The Spring flowers on the focal layer were a must in my book.  I added them in Melon Mambo and Highland Heather.  The cloud hanging over the right side square is also a stamp.  Actually it is a much larger cloud.  The stamp of the size cloud I used is the same slanted rain look as that square’s DSP.  So I got creative.  I stamped the larger cloud, which is the design you see, and cut it with the smaller cloud die.

The sentiment layer is an adorable saying from the stamp set.  It is then punched out using, my most favorite of punches, the Double Oval Punch.  It was close if it was going to fit but it did!  I wanted a smaller shape there that would compliment the bottom of that diamond shape.

Fun Fold

The Fun Fold Step Card is one I got the idea from Lisa Cursio.  It begins with a piece of Shaded Spruce that is 5 1/2 X 11.  Score the long side at 3, 6, 7 1/2, 9, and 10.  Make mountain and valley folds as shown. The step layers are Basic White at 2 7/8 X 5 3/8, 1 3/8 X 5 3/8, and 7/8 X 5 3/8.  Add DSP cut to  2 3/4 X 5 1/4, 1 1/4 X 5 1/4, and 3/4 X 5 1/4.

For the Squares, they are each 3 X 3, 2 3/4 X 2 3/4, and 2 1/2 X 2 1/2.  The two with DSP have 2 3/4 X 2 3/4 and 2 1/2 X 2 1/2.  With the White layer being 2 1/4 X 2 1/4.  Lisa’s card had all in the diamond position and placed directly behind each other.  I like that, but decided to try something different.  By placing the back two in square position on each side it allows you to see the DSP better.  And gives a different look to the card.  I did add the focal layer as a center diamond and love how that compliments the other two.

Finishes

The finishes to this card are very simple.  The scalloped sentiment at the base of the diamond breaks up all of the straight lines.  And it has one of the Opaque Faceted Gems that is also a SAB item.  There are a few others of these gems scattered on the different panels.  I also gave my die cut cloud a bit more visibility by hanging off the edge of the center square.  And I almost forgot the Sun!  It is a stamp and die from the Bundle.  I wanted him at a jaunty angle as well.  We have to have Sunshine for Brighten the Cloudy Days as the sentiment says!

Thank you for stopping by!!!
