Layered Floral

The inspiration for today’s card is one I received at On Stage from one of my Up Line.  It is a simply gorgeous card that is great for so many occasions.  Thank You to Pam Morris for this wonderful card idea.

Stampin' Up!, Layered Floral, Wonderful Thoughts, Highland Heather, jackie beers

Background

This gorgeous background is from the Layered Floral 3D Embossing Folder.  The flowers are wonderful and have really great detail to them.  This folder is from the current Mini Catalog and is going to carryover.  I am thrilled about that!

Stamps and Dies

The little “Hello” sentiment is from the Wonderful Thoughts Bundle.  It includes the matching die for this tiny Hello.  They both are fairly small and such a sweet addition to the card.  Also the heart is from this same Die set.  I was thrilled to find the Hello fit perfectly inside the heart.

The bouquet of flowers is from the Die set as well.  When layering these pieces, I added Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to the upper flowers of the bouquet and placed it.  Then I added a large and two small Stampin’ Dimensionals to the heart and placed it over top of the bottom portion of the bouquet.  By having the upper flowers raised a bit it gives some added texture.

Papers and Finishes

To have no designer series paper and only two colors is very unusual for me.  Simply having only the two colors makes for an elegant card with just a touch of the color popping. There was much debate in my brain about adding additional finishing touches.  But in the end I went with the simplicity that Pam had on her card.  I only used a single Rhinestone jewel.  Sometimes that is all you need. 🙂

Painted In Colors

I have made a card to show all of the New In Colors in one spot.  It really allows you to see how well they work together.  And what better way to show colors than by painting them.

Stampin' Up!, Trusty Tools, 2024-2026 In Colors, Very Best Occsions, Double Oval, Linen Thread, jackie beers

Colors

This card shares the five New In Colors for 2024-2026.  I thought “painting” with them was a good way to show each one, but all together.  From left to right they are Petunia Pop, Summer Splash, Peach Pie, Shy Shamrock and Pretty In Pink.  I hope you will share your favorites.  Mine are Petunia Pop and Shy Shamrock.  Although I am happy to see Pretty In Pink again after many years.

Stamp Sets

This fun paint brush that helps to show the colors is from the Trusty Tools set.  Having a filler stamp for the handle simply added to the ease of making and showed additional of the color.  The sentiment is from the Very Best Occasions stamp set.  It and the Double Oval Punch, which the sentiment is punched using, are both retiring.  That is so sad.  But I am almost over loosing my favorite punch.

Finishes

This is a extremely plain card from my norm.  That is more due to the White on White.  No DSP is what is most unusual.  So I had to add bling.  But first to ground the sentiment I added a couple of loops of Linen Thread and then a double bow.  Twine goes perfectly with painting.  For the Bling, I went with the new In Colors again.  These are one of each of the In Colors from the 2024-2026 In Color Shimmer Gems.  You know I love these with that bit of shimmer to them.  And they are pretty flat.  That is a win as well for mailing!

Mixed Notes

I really hate to see the Notes of Nature retiring.  So here is a little mix of it and other retiring color products.   It is a blue day in nature.

Stampin' Up!, Notes of Nature, Nature's sweetness, jackie beers

Bundle

The Notes of Nature Bundle is great for “layering” type cards as well as distressed looking ones.  The stamp set has several background type stamps.  I have used three of those to create the background on this card.  And the sentiment is from the set as well.  This is a great sentiment in the wording as well as the mix of fonts. Two of the background images are stamped using Boho Blue Ink.  The splatter stamp is inked with Starry Sky ink and is stamped and then stamped a second and third time without re-inking to give the different shades of blue.  And the sentiment is Starry Sky on Boho Blue card stock.

The Notes of Nature Dies not only cut some of the stamped images, but also have two large dies to create borders or strips.  I chose to use the notebook looking strip to add a layer to the sentiment.  The holes leave no doubt that it is a torn notebook.  For the floral cuttings, I stamped with Starry Sky Ink onto Pebbled Path card stock.

Papers

To make a card without DSP is not common for me, but today I have done that.  This “blue” card is all card stock.  The card base is Starry Sky with a layer of Boho Blue.  The only different colors are the Pebbled Path for the die cut floral and then the die cut notebook piece  That drafting paper look is a piece from the Nature’s Sweetness Designer Series Paper.  The fronts of this pack of paper has gold splatter or lettering on them and the backs are more plain.  This was a perfect match for the Pebbled Path images.

Finishes

The finishes today are different than what I usually list as my finishes.  There is no bling!  Shocking I know.  But the ribbon used is the Starry Sky Woven Metallic Ribbon.  As I have said many times, this is my favorite ribbon.  It has some shimmer and the colors work with so many colors other than what they are supposed to match.  Plus the sentiment layers are a bit different with the added layer of the notebook piece.

Sweetness

My card for today is a mix of stamping and paper cutting.  The easy kind of paper cutting.  It is a great image cut from the DSP.  The gorgeous Natures Sweetness DSP.

Stampin' Up!, Natures Sweetness, Deckled Circles, layering leaves, notes of nature, jackie beers

Papers

This card is more Paper than stamping so I am beginning here.  The image is cut from the Natures Sweetness Designer Series paper.  I fussy cut it to get around the flower.  The darkness of the circle was there, but I colored the rest of the flower with Stampin’ Blends.  I even googled it from the wording on the stamp set.  It is a bloom on a tree that can be a variety of things.  The name sounded like a prune, but the blossom is an almond!

The background paper is also from the Natures Sweetness Designer Series paper.  This is another of the non-gold sheets, in other words, the back of a gold sheet.  I love the splattered and faded look.  So I paired it with the color I used for the center of the flower, Sweet Sorbet.  And that was based on the picture I found.

Stamps

The front sentiment is from the Layering Leaves stamp set.  This font is wonderful and really holds it’s own on a card.  On the inside I used a sentiment from the Notes of Nature stamp set.  A pairing to the paper.  The front sentiment is cut using the 2″ Circle Punch.

Dies

To give a backing to the flower, I added a circle from the Deckled Circles Dies.  These are carrying over and will be an Online Exclusive once the Mini retires.  I used the 7th largest.  There are a lot of dies in the set!!  The rough edges are perfect for this layer as the floral layer is not smooth either.

Finishes

To add more color to the card, and to ground the sentiment a bit, I added a length of the Sweet Sorbet and White ribbon.   A simple knot is a great way to add just a touch of an item.  And to complete the card my bling is the 2022-2024 In Color Pearls.  The Sweet Sorbet ones are a little darker and that is fine.  It helps them pop a little better.

Spring Wreath

One of the more versatile sets is retiring and I had to use it.  It is the Cottage Wreath and Country Wreath Dies.  Since it seems most folks have a wreath, or something similar, on their door it is a must have.

Stampin" Up!, Cottage Wreath,Country Wreath Dies, Painted Texture, Petal Park Punch, Best Label Punch, Iridescent Pearls, jackie beers

Stamp and Dies

The Cottage Wreath and Country Wreath Dies both have a variety of wreath images that can be single or doubled as I did.  Plus there are different attachments like fall leaves, holly, etc.  I opted to do the Leaf background in Old Olive but stamped off first for a softer look.  Next I stamped the twig wreath .  After die cutting both wreaths, I cut the twig one into sections.  They are added around the leaf wreath.  Then comes the flowers.

The gorgeous bow is also from the Die set.  I love the definition it has.  To complete the wreath, the bow received a large of the pearls.  The Hello is also from the stamp set.

Punches

The flowers are from the Petal Park Punch.  It is the smallest of the three flowers on the punch.  I punched five of them.  They are added around the wreath and each have an Iridescent Pearl in the center.  The Hello sign is punched using the Best Label Punch.  I really love that little punch!  To give the little sign some added depth, I punched two more from the Best Label in Gorgeous Grape and placed behind the White.  This gives just enough of the Gorgeous Grape to tie in with the bow.

Papers and Others

The Gorgeous Grape pairs perfectly with the Highland Heather I used as the card base and the flowers.  It is a Spring color for a Spring wreath.  To compliment the wreath, I used the Painted Texture Embossing Folder to give definition to the background for the wreath.  The Smoky Slate card stock is also a soft color to pair with the others.

Enjoy

I am sharing cards made with retiring products this week.  My first card stars the Forever Love Designer Series paper paired with Thoughtful Expressions Bundle.

Stampin' Up!, Thoughtful Expressions, Forever Love, Gold Foil, Sweet Sorbet Metallic Ribbon, Festive Pearls, jackie beers

Paper

This card is all about the DSP.  This gorgeous gold foiled paper is from the Forever Love Designer Series Paper.  Surprisingly, some of the DSP from the Annual Catalog is carrying over to the new one.  I love it, but it is unusual.  Although this paper from the Mini Catalog is not carrying over.

I have been in a fussy cutting mood lately and this card is all about fussy cutting.  The focal layer of the bouquet is fussy cut from the DSP.  I had a few sheers left from the Paper Share for the Mini Catalog and found this beautiful bouquet there.  Also used were a couple of the “edge” pieces.  I added one to the bottom of the envelope.  What better way to make an envelope pretty!!!  And I also added an edge piece to the inside of the card.

To go a step further, the DSP behind the bouquet is also from the Forever Love.  It is a reverse of one of the green and gold pieces.  I thought the small flowers matched perfectly with the bouquet.  It is lighter than the bouquet as well as the Moody Mauve of the card base.  And the Gold Foil is the perfect highlight to the gold in the DSP.

Stamps and Dies

The stamps used are from the Thoughtful Expressions stamp set.  This set is carrying over to the next Annual Catalog.  But sadly, ;( the Dies are not carrying over.  And these Dies are my favorite from the Mini Catalog.  I love the layering and the unique shape of the circles.  So sad!!

For the sentiment I love the wording of this one.  And I wanted to use the Dies for the sentiment as well.  There needed to be another touch of the Gold Foil.  This sentiment is actually a long one.  But with the different fonts it was easy to separate there.  Again it was me and the fussy cutting!  To give some definition on the card base, I stamped the small image repeatedly using Moody Mauve Ink on the Moody Mauve card base.

Finishes

To have a landing spot for the sentiment layer, I needed something.  And this ribbon is my absolute favorite from the Annual Catalog.  All of the retiring In Colors have this ribbon and it breaks my heart for them to be retiring.  I use these ribbons regularly as the colors match more than the ones they are named for.

I wrapped two loops of ribbon around the bouquet layer and then did a double bow to complete it.  Next I went a bit wild with the bling.  There are three of the red from the Festive Pearls attached to the sentiment layer.  And there are a couple of the gold from the Festive Pearls up towards the top of the bouquet.  This card is all about the bling!

Thank you for visiting today!!!
