My card to share today is made from the negative of the Adoring Hearts from a few days ago. And is paired with a fabulous new Online Exclusive.
Adoring Hearts
The strip of hearts is part of the negative from the card I posted on February 5th. You can see that card here. You do the embossing and cutting with just a 6X6 piece of card stock. And you end up with 9 hearts and the sheet with 9 hearts cut out. I used one strip of the sheet for this card. You can see the close up details below. I love the little hearts and it shows that this negative was intended to be used!
Stamps
The lovely Happy Birthday is a new Online Exclusive that will be available on March 5 to customers. All of the images are script like this. And it has a long tail on each end of the sentiment. Because of where I wanted to place it, I masked part of the tail on each end. These sentiments will be wonderful for making quick cards where the sentiment is the star of the show. And the inside sentiment, you will see below, is from the awesome Charming Sentiments set.
Papers
The DSP is as much the star of this card as the stamp and die cut is. I have used two pieces from the Flight & Airy Designer Series Paper from Sale-A-Bration. The strip behind the open hearts is a soft look that I love. But the birds are really the focal piece. I almost feel like I am cheating by not having to stamp and color the images. The soft colors made choosing a base color a little difficult. But I opted for Bubble Bath. As I was putting the card together I thought how well this card would work for a baby card as well with the soft colors.
Punch and Finishes
The birds are punched using the Decorative Circle Punch. I also punched a Bubble Bath layer and sandwiched the two pieces together. This is a Fun Fold, and I will show the rest of the card in a minute, it needed to be stronger than only the DSP thickness. By sandwiching it together, it does not detract from the birds. And to finish off the card I added the Iridescent Foil Gems for some Bling!
Measurements
This is a Fun Fold and a very simple one. Plus it can hold a gift card as well. I love that option! Here is the open view.
The card base of Bubble Bath is cut to 5 1/2 X 8 1/2. It is scored at 2 1/2 and 6 1/2. Fold and burnish on the score lines. Both fold to the inside. I folded up the 6 1/2 score and used Tear & Tape on each end to create the pocket. That is the hard part of the card! LOL!! The inside Basic White is 4 1/2 X 3 3/4, and a gift card will slide in their as well. The front strip is Basic White at 5 1/2 X 2, with DSP at 5 1/2 X 1 1/2. The strip of the die cut is 5 1/2 X 1 3/4. And the bottom sentiment White is also 5 1/2 X 2.
