There are a couple of Die Sets in the Annual Catalog that are not associated with a stamp set. Today I am sharing one of those sets. It is the Patchwork Pieces. Oh my the possibilities!!
Die Set
This Patchwork Pieces Die Set is so fun!!! There are two dies included. One creates this layout and the other is more of a starburst shape. This die really showcases paper so easily and would look great with any paper, or even an embossed piece that is then die cut. I opted to showcase the Glorious Gingham papers.
Papers
The Glorious Gingham Designer Series paper includes some of the colors that were added into the color families in the recent refresh. There is Berry Burst, Blueberry Bushel, Lemon Lime Twist, Pecan Pie, and Pretty Peacock. These are all 6X6 pieces and are large check on one side and small check on the opposite. The layout I have used really showcases these colors and how, surprisingly, they all work together.
To add to the gingham I pulled the two brightest colors as the card base and layer. They are Berry Burst with Blueberry Bushel as the layer. Adding the thin White layer was a way to tie in the White sentiment.
Stamps and Extras
To additionally highlight the patchwork I added embossing with the Blueberry Bushel layer. It is embossed using the Cane Weave Embossing Folder. You need to zoom in a little to see it in the photo, but it really stands out in person. (I need to work on my photography!!)
For the sentiment layer I used a variety of products. The circle is from the 2 3/8″ Circle Punch and scored at 2″ on the right side. That is tucked behind the Patchwork piece. The sentiment is from the Color & Contour stamp set. It is stamped with Blueberry Bushel Ink. To add some definition I used the Petal Park stamp set and Punch for the flowers. They are stamped with Berry Burst with Bubble Bath as the fill color. As the bling layer I added a trio of the Adhesive Backed Solid Gems in Lemon color and in varying sizes.
