The card I have to share with you today is from one of those stamp sets that I had no interest in on my first look through the catalog. This is getting to be a common theme for me! I loved the Designer Series Paper but was not as excited about the stamp set. That is until I saw it used !!
Stamp Set
It really is hard to say which is the star of this card. Is it the stamps or the paper? I really love both. The Happy Holly-Days stamp set is definitely a good one. I love the Bird and the Holly . The bird is colored using Real Red and Poppy Parade. When you get an up close look at a cardinal, the red is quite a few different shades. That was my thought when coloring this bird.
For the holly, I used both Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent to color the leaves. Then followed with both shades of Real Red for the berries. The layer of Shimmer Vellum the bird is on is from the Scalloped Contours Dies. He needed something to help ground him. I added the two sets of Holly to the vellum to even everything out.
Paper
I have used three different kinds of Stampin’ Up! special paper and that does not include the regular cardstock! The cardbase is Evening Evergreen with a layer of Basic White. Then starts the special paper. The strip on the left is from the Ombre Specialty Paper. It is a soft pink that changes into a red as you go down the slightly glimmery paper! Yes, it is gorgeous. I went with the softer end of the paper so it did not conflict with the red of the bird and the DSP.
The Designer Series Paper is the Painted Christmas DSP. This is probably my favorite of the pack. I love the soft Flirty Flamingo going into the Real Red or Cherry Cobbler. The scalloped vellum is from the 2021-2023 Shimmer Vellum pack. There are all of the 2021-2023 In Colors each in a Shimmer Vellum. It is really pretty up close.
No sentiment was needed on the front of this card. I allowed the stamps and paper send the appropriate message! I hope you enjoyed this card.
